I wish to thank Brad Doyle and his staff at Fox Bend Golf Club. We have played quite a few rounds there this past summer and fall and we love this place. Wonderful, beautiful, challenging golf course that is always in good shape. I cant say enough good things about the experience we have had at Fox Bend this summer. I also recommend Pearces Restaurant in the clubhouse. Great food and drinks which is just what you need after a round. Thanks again to Brad and everyone at Fox Bend and Pearces. We will ALWAYS be back.

Happy Father's Day. First time playing this track and the course is in good condition. The reason for my low review is the ranger. He stopped by our foursome on the 5th hole to let us know that we were 90 seconds behind pace.. 90 seconds! We teed off at 7:20am and I checked my watch and realized we had been playing for 1 hour, almost on the dot. We told him we would pick up the pace going forward and let it go at that.
He stopped by again at the green of the ninth hole tell us we were now 2 minutes behind pace. We made the turn at 9:15am and at this point our group was in shock.
Our last encounter was around the 13-14th hole and now we were 4 MINUTES behind pace. There was no group behind us that had ever waited to take a shot. Our group had enough at this point. One of our guys called the clubhouse to let them know we were being harassed by the ranger and to tell him to back off.
We finished our round in 3 hours and 45 minutes
This was the first and last time I will play here. I've read the other reviews and this seems to be a common theme , probably with the same ranger.
I hope everyone takes this into consideration when deciding where to play. Happy Father's Day everyone

We arrived a few minutes late due to bad traffic on the way... didn't let us start... wanted us to go to hole 3. When we asked if we will be able to come back and play whole 1 and 2, he said only if we pay 9 hole fee. Not much sympathy to the long drive we had from the city... didn't want to even explain or try to work it out... I think we could have been ok if he explained nicer ... but we felt "your not welcomed here" vibe the moment we walked in. We ended up playing that day somewhere else... where people are nicer and playing golf is not about humiliating you for being slightly late.

Sam,
Unfortunately, when we have a full tee sheet we are limited in our options available for late arrivals. We try to accommodate late arrivals by starting them on the hole they would be on had they teed off on time, but we understand that this made for a disappointing experience for you. We strive to make all our guests feel welcome and we are sorry to hear that we missed the mark. We hope your next round of golf is more enjoyable.

Most of the rangers here are the definition of grumpy old men who don't want to see anyone having a good time on the golf course I understand golf is more on the serious side when playing but enjoying my time during the round helps the disappointment of my poor shots no need for rude rangers ruining my good time this course use to be one of my favorites but blackberry will be the new go to this course has fallen off bad (feel like I need to add Ive played the game since I was 9 I'm 26 now I learned to respect the course regardless of the quality long ago do I make mistakes sure but I am in no way "purposely disrespecting the course" as the ranger put it) if I could just rate the course it would be good the staff or more so the majority of the staff make that place a big no for me but feel free to give it a try they're some decent rangers and staff there maybe you'll get lucky

I wanted to give four out of five stars for the course itself. But the experience I had today with the ranger makes me want to give it -0. Today, I went out at 10:30 on a Monday and played a foursome. It has been sometime since two of us played golf. The Ranger asked us to speed up our play on the first hole, second hole, and the third hole. But what made it better is that he drove his cart-to our husbands and told them we needed to play better essentially. I was rather confused since I thought we all paid the same price to play. It wasn't a Friday or Saturday it was a Monday. It got to the point where I had to ask Jordan the beer cart girl to call the Clubhouse manage and asked to have stop following us or refund our money. At no point we're we taking a crazy amount of time at any hole, when we lost a ball we took a drop. It got to the point that one of our four players did not even play because he followed us so much. The course it self was well-maintained, the food was good, the service to get food was good, but if you want to play the course and you're not an ace golfer be prepared to have a ranger follow you around and tell you how to play. And if you are a female golfer w a male golfer be prepared to be treated like it's 1920 again.

This course has a terrible staff. Awful putting surface as well. Don't golf here because there are 20 other courses in the area that are better with better staff. They also gave us a hard time because we had 2 black men golfing in our foursome. I've never experienced this at any other course. We will be gladly to take our business elsewhere. BLACK LIVES MATTER

Nice course layout (typical of Wadsworth) with many interesting holes that are both fair and challenging. Great use of the property's natural beauty making full use of the streams and elevation changes.
A big point of distinction is the people. The course, club house and pro shop are well-staffed with some really nice people.
This course is what you typically find in rural Wisconsin where the people make you feel at home, the patrons are neighborly and the property is picturesque. It's not fancy by any stretch of the imagination. Which I like.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Santiago A.Loxahatchee, FL51242745May 4, 2010First to Review
This place stands out for its great staff. Sure, the course is beautiful and the prices are reasonable... but this is Chicagoland. There must be a thousand golf courses in a 60 mile radius. You need a place where the people are friendly and knowledgeable.
One time, I went with my brother and they had just closed down the driving range for the evening. They let us play a few holes for free, so we feel like we drove there for nothing. It struck me to see such a nice gesture. Well, they certainly gained a return customer in me (so far once for the course and once for the driving range).
When you're out hitting ball on the range the staff is always willing to strike up a conversation while they are working on the tess to keep them in shape. Always a good time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jay W.Sugar Grove, IL112Mar 20, 2013
I've played here weekly for several years. Beautiful course and a pretty decent price. The staff is A+ and the pace of play is always under 4:30. Get there in the morning and its under 4 hours!

I held an event in the pavilion last weekend for approximately 40 people and it turned out lovely! The table settings were gorgeous and exactly what I envisioned, the food was delicious, my guests were all impressed with the entire atmosphere and were highly complimentary. There were only 2 hiccups; there was some trouble getting the heater to work so for the first half of the party guests were chilly including my 86 year old grandmother but it did kick on eventually. Then after the event when I received the bill as I was about to pay I saw that some of the extra above the deposit I put down several months earlier was not taken off. I had to have someone find the right person to get a copy of the contract to redo the bill. It took a fair amount of time and I needed to get my child to the church to get baptized so we were in a bit of a time constraint and it was inopportune. That said I should have had my contract copy as well. It was taken care of, I just would have preferred it was right the first time or went smoother. In the end though, Claressa the banquet manager was such a joy to work with, the food was so great, the range of food, alcohol, packages, and prices was so varied and the staff was so professional I would do another party there again for sure! Highly recommended for bridal showers, baby showers, engagement parties, birthday parties, anniversary parties, receptions, etc. It is a great place!
