I called and asked if they could fix a flat, said he could fix it right away. $20 bucks, out in 10 minutes. Great service, the guy was very courteous.

The Foster City Valero has a snack shop, a repair garage, and gas prices lower than the Chevron down the street. Now, any gas station near the freeway can have higher than average gas prices. On Dec 18, 2022, Reg UL was $4.75. At the Chevron, Reg UL was $4.99. But overall, these are not cheap gas prices.
The station itself has a clean appearance, but I didn't use the restroom. This station has very spacious lot, with fast food restaurants right across the street.

The service here was amazing. I needed an oil change, brake pads replaced and tire plugged. They used all Lexus OEM parts, left truck clean and offered a fair price. I'll be back for all my service appointments. Safi took the time to do a great job and answered all questions honestly. My truck runs like when I drove it off the lot great choice of synthetic oil.

Ok so I was at this gas station on 11/13 @ 945 am during my visit and I understand that during covid and even when we can't push anyone to believe the danger they are putting others every establishment has a responsibility to.their costumers and their own employees this tells me how much they care. The costumer before me was there no mask at all and when we told the attendant he said for me to tell him. Not up to him. So now that the virus is spiking why not be a bit more responsible so I say I will stay out of this place if you want to stay safe or your family safe. Sorry but I won't be back if they don't care about their costumers or employee tgen I will find another place to go.

This is a great place for a quick trip with everything you need but alcohol (city ordinance). Lines are never too long and the gas prices are good. They also have a surprising amount of snack and drink options for such a small bodega.

Safi is the mechanic at this station and does great work, excellent service, good prices with quality work. Referred several others who are satisfied with service and price. Highly recommended for all types of vehicles. Very friendly, great guy.

Shame on you for taking advantage of the customer needing Gas. Other Valero Stations are significantly lower priced like in NEIGHBORING San Mateo. There is an independant station using the same gas on 4th Ave San Mateo.... My X contacted me and said price for Regular was 2.15 for cash, 2.25 for Credit Card. Valero was over $3.00 that same day.
How do you set your pricing since you get a delivery of about once a month.... you margins should be set according to your costs.... otherwise your taking advantage.
Some Gas Stations get their pricing orders by FAX so it is indeed CONTROLLED Price Fixing.... someone should go to jail. This is for their Gas Pricing.... I have no idea how good or bad they are when it comes to mechanical.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lindsey J.Foster City, CA29120Sep 21, 2017Updated review
So sad to hear that the owners had sold this place around May 2017(?) Long time customer so guess I have to go to the Chevron down the street :(
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 19, 2010Previous reviewLOVE THIS PLACE! I would give it an extra star because that is how great they are!! And no I am not related to them, like someone implied as the only reason why I would give them a rate that high.
A family owned place that I have been going to for over 10 years now. I will never go anywhere else until they close which I hope will not be for a very long time. They are honest, friendly, accommodating, fast, very reasonable prices (and did I mention VERY HONEST?) what more can I say??!! Yes, it is true that they don't have a waiting room like another person complained about but there is an IHOP, McDonald's, and Carols Jr. that you can go sit while waiting for your car. Another person said they didn't like how Valero charges you a dollar to use the air & water for the tires. Please keep in mind that this a family owned and runned business; they have bills to pay too. I believe they are worth it to keep them in business in my neighborhood.
Keep up the great work! Thanks for everything :) - Caisa S.San Francisco, CA211824Nov 5, 2011Updated review
Mad props to Foster City Valero for replacing the battery in my Audi TT for a mere $45 (labor). The dealer wanted to charge me $150 -- plus $180 for the OEM battery (which is basically the equivalent of a AAA Duracell).
Someone commented about the lack of waiting room. Really? If you want a fancy waiting room with "complimentary" coffee and cookies go to the dealer, where you will pay triple for the pleasure of being able to rest your behind in a comfy chair and munch on "free" treats.
You know what is WAYYYYY better than a waiting room???? Being able to leave my car in the parking lot from Thursday until 7:30 pm on a Saturday because I didn't have time to pick it up. That kind of convenience beats the hell out of a waiting room any day.
I don't love having to have my car serviced, but I do LOVE knowing that these people will take care of me when the inevitable occurs.
(And no, I am not a relative or a friend. Just a very grateful customer.)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 28, 2009Previous reviewI should not have waited so long to write this review. I have been bringing my cars to this service station since I started driving. It is a family run shop and the service is well above five stars on every level (customer service, quality of the repair work, and so on).
Back in the day, I was a teenager with a really cool, but always busted, VW Sirocco, that I decided to bring here after finally realizing the German car "specialist" with whom I had been dealing had been ripping me off.
These guys took one look at my car and told me they could fix the immediate problem, but the car was in such bad shape I needed to get rid of it yesterday or it would bankrupt me! I took their advice, traded the car in for a much less flashy, but way more dependable, Toyota, which they serviced for its lifetime. They are still my first choice for all out-of-warranty service/maintenance on my cars.
These guys are as honest as the day is long. They explain everything they propose doing, how much it will cost, the benefits are of doing the service, what might realistically happen if it is not performed, etc. They never use scare tactics -- they simply present the facts. They also price their services fairly and only do what is necessary. If these guys tell you that you should do "X," it is not an "up-sell," it is the truth. Also, If the work I want done is better suited for the dealer, they say so up front.
As I mentioned, they also offer excellent customer service. Once, I brought my car in for a tune up with the handle on the passenger side hanging by a thread. (By "handle," I mean the one above the window). When I arrived home, I noticed the handle had been fixed. I was not charged for the repair; it was not even noted on my invoice. They had simply fixed it for me.
Many years ago, my invalid aunt kept a car that her friends and family would drive when she needed to get out of the house. That car needed service and I suggested she take it here. The problem was arranging a day when someone could deliver the car to and from the shop because she could not drive it herself. When she called to explain the situation, one of the brothers offered to pick up the car and bring it back and forth without charge. Now THAT is 5-star service.
Trust me, this is THE place to go if you want your car to be well maintained, for a fair price, by skilled mechanics who are also good, honest people. - Kate D.San Jose, CA44320122Jun 4, 2012
I've never used the mechanic services here, but I do stop in for gas. I try to avoid it though - their gas prices are sooo expensive. Go down the street a block and you can get gas for 20 cents cheaper.
The upswing - they sell Trolli Strawberry Puff candy. That stuff is amazing.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
