Delightfully entirely vegan and prime locale round out the literal best vegan ice cream in New England. A bit far for a daily indulgence but perfect for a day out and convincing enough to please even the most discerning palate.
Pro tip; grab a pint to go!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 4, 2022
I've been here a few times before and I feel that it's changed quite a bit over the years. I remember they used to have a lot more pastries available, but today when I went there were only a few cookies. I don't know if it's because of Covid that things look different now, but I liked having the option of picking up some pastries in addition to ice cream.
Today, my husband and I got the rockiest road and birthday cake ice cream in a cone. I thought the rockiest road was pretty good, but didn't like the birthday cake flavor too much. It had a yogurt taste and I'm not someone who likes yogurt. My husband thought it was ok and he likes yogurt. I wasn't a fan of their wafer cone either. It was kind of stale, I think it might have been one of those all natural cones so it's probably just the way it is.
Being vegan, we've both had plenty of vegan ice cream over the years and we feel that FoMu's ice cream is ok - it isn't bad, but it's not amazing either. It's enough to satisfy an ice cream craving.
This FoMu location is a few stores down from Grasshopper - an entirely vegan Asian restaurant so it's nice to stop in here for a cold treat after dinner or lunch.
The store also has a fridge with several ice cream cake options and ice cream pints for sale.
There is no parking lot, you'd have to look for street parking.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 19, 2022
I came here four years ago and have been dreaming of returning ever since. And now that I've moved to Boston, every day is a temptation to get more Fomu ice cream. They have flavors you'll never find anywhere else, from apple cider donut to blueberry shortcake. All delicious and creamy and irresistible. A pint is about $12 which is steep, but worth it as an occasional splurge. Highly recommend!

Had the pleasure to try this place for the first time with my friend! For a sweet, relaxed vegan ice cream store, this is the one! In total, we had the blueberry crumble, strawberry rhubarb, rocky road, and the cold brew flavors and they were all tasty!
Thank you to the two workers that were assisting us on the night of 06/05! Your playlist is amazing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 9, 2022
This plant-based ice cream SLAPS. And I've never said that before. I got the cookie dough. It's just absolutely full of flavor: the base is a malted chocolate, the cookie dough is delish, the choco chips even add crunch. You can taste a hint of coconut milk, but it neatly blends with the malt flavor. Really good and I highly recommend.

Vegan ice cream! I know - who would've thought?! I'm impressed with the ice cream. The texture definitely is thicker than normal ice cream - think a mix between pudding and gelato almost. It definitely can run price-y ($6+ for a small)! Here's what we got:
[Small] Confetti: Definitely was my favorite of the two we got! I'm not vegan myself, but this is a closer substitute to ice cream than the "Chocolate Pudding" off their menu.
[Mini] Chocolate Pudding: Pretty good, but I definitely would've preferred either chocolate ice cream or chocolate pudding. The texture reminded me almost of the "banana" ice cream trends recently - which I wasn't a big fan of.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5896101211Apr 5, 2021
Since opting for a more plant-based diet, I've been pining after ice cream. I'm so glad places like FoMu exist so that I can satisfy my cravings without straying from the plant-based path.
We went for two half scoops, one of the Matcha Vanilla Cake and one of the Earl Grey Shortbread. By now, I've had a few plant-based ice creams, but never ones with such innovative flavors!
What was great about these two were having soft mix-ins in my ice cream. There's something about the way a bit of cake soaks up the ice cream surrounding it, becoming a sort of sponge for your dessert. The vanilla cake and the shortbread in each flavor did just that. If I had to pick a winning flavor though, I'd opt for the Earl Grey. It was so fragrant that I wanted an Earl Grey latte to wash it all down afterwards. Whether you're trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle or looking to incorporate more plant-based options in your diet, FoMu is an excellent choice.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Semi O.Cherry Hill, NJ362874May 16, 2022
I was so excited to hear that this place was vegan! I am not vegan myself, but I always had a taste for vegan establishments. They had a variety of flavors and I would definitely come back to try the other flavors. The staff was super nice and patient.
