Used to be better before they got rid of those rolls and changed the menu up. Now the veggies/ salads cost extra.
I was craving some kinda fried/crispy tofu so I ended up with the sweet and spicy tofu which was a decent price. This was on the sweeter side so it got boring pretty quick. Veggies were cut too large imo.
Nothing was fresh, not the sweet and sour chicken or the regular chicken, it was all pretty soggy and not hot.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 4, 2020Updated review
Yaaaay! Talk about comeback kid. Since my last visit they've changed a lot in their offerings and clearly it's paid off, at least from my perspective. For one they've changed the bread to a round milk bun and the jalo spread is gone. They added more sides too so now you get two with your meal plus bread and a dumpling.
Last time I enjoyed the taste of the bulgogi but it was kinda chewy. No such issue this time. It was comptently executed and retained that good flavor. I also got the fried sweet and spicy chicken which was great. My sides were Mac salad and corn salsa both of which tasted great. The beef dumpling and bread were an extra bonus to a great meal.
I'm so glad they got the kinks worked out. I'm gonna be back :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Feb 8, 2020Previous reviewIt was cold dark day in the metroplex that day.
I was tired and hungry ... oh also cold so anything "flamin" sounded like a good idea. Flame brings you light and warmth so good remedy for cold and dark. What's weird is the hours here because they close at eight which for me ain't that great. I eat late so figured eating here wasn't part of my fate. I'll stop now for if I continue this review will generate, I fear a lot more hate. Anyway on this day it worked out ... but seriously 8?
Inside it's pretty snazzy. I've seen a couple of review call this a hole in the wall and I'm thinking those persons must typically dine at Michelin star rated restaurants if this is their hole in the wall. I was greeted by the very polite staff and since it was my first time they helped me figure out the process a bit. I got a their basic combo. 10 bucks including a large soda. Not a bad deal. I got this chunky piece of bread with Jalapeno spread and then bulgogi because let's be honest, who doesn't love bulgogi except for our non-meat eating friends who really should consider taking a day off unless they are bound by religion in which case wait for the tofu version which undoubtedly shall be called tofgogi. The meal comes with a side of rice or fries (some options there), and veggies.
My food tasted pretty good. I appreciated that they didn't upcharge for the fried rice. The veggies had a good flavor and the fried rice were pretty good. The bulgogi was tossed in gochujang sauce and you can choose others if you'd like. It tasted good.
So then what's the deal with 3 stars?
Well first the bread. I feel they should have lightly toasted it. It would work better that way. The mixed veggies were kind of mushy and I'd overlook all that but for the bulgogi which was very chewy. I LIKED the taste but they took the chew 24 times before swallowing mantra quite literally perhaps. I had to work for it. So I'm really hoping they get it together and up the game. It's a very convenient location for me and I'd love to be a reg. I'll definitely give it another shot and hope to report back with better results. - Aug 16, 2020
This spot is good we life to use a Groupon. We ended up getting a plate of bulgogi beef 2 sides of sprouts and Mac salad with fried rice and 36 Korean fried chicken wings for 20 dollars! The sweet and sour chicken takes like Chinese takeout food and not like authentic Korean sweet and sour chicken. I do recommend this place but you should get the free Groupon to save lots of money.

OooRah! They are still open and better yet dining in available. We went back with a Groupon and get a good bargain on two meals with lots of leftovers. Nice to get the kimchi and soy bean sprout side dishes. Served in containers that double as take out. I am glad they survived so far as so many small shops have closed for good. Ample virus precautions in place so its safe place to eat. And now that summer is almost over I can tell you that there are several shaded parking spots nearby.

Feb 26, 2020Previous review1st visit and just 3 stars on this visit. I will have to come back again sooner that later and see if they do well again before earning more stars. Friendly staff who explained the menu and choices to make. Very clean and setup. They have only been open 2 weeks and we were one of the first to use a coupon to buy 1 get one free. Portions are large so come hungry or think leftovers.

Meat tastes good and there are a lot of side choices. I've ordered one pan with rice and one with stir-fried vegetables. The former has too much rice than the other thing. And the latter's stir-fired vegetable chopped too large that it is a little bit raw for me. And the side has much more sauces than I want (cause I prefer a lighter taste) It's better if they could serve separately. Moreover I didn't find it feel any pineapple in the pineapple dressing. It's disappointing.
However, overall it is fairly good restaurant and I may try it again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 7, 2021
We had a hard time deciding on what we wanted and ended up ordering a bunch of food...sweet and spicy chicken, tofu and bulgogi with slaw, Asian salad, vegetables, fried rice and corn salsa. We got take-out and everything was very well packed. Our favorite was the chicken, tender and tasty. Of all the things we got, the fried rice I would say lacked in flavor or taste. The cinnamon butter served with the roles was a pleasant surprise. The quantity is more than adequate even if you are starving! I highly recommend this place! We will be back for sure...

I tried their Dak Gang Jeong at Plano Hmart. They put their cold boxes of chicken on a table inside of Hmart and I brought a couple of boxes home and reheated them to eat. I heard they make them in the morning to put them out.
The spicy & sweet sauce is a tiny bit better than their garlic sauce for me. The garlic needs something more special that it was too average. But their spicy sauce is also so-so. It was not blending well between the sweet and salty.
Most importantly, after I heated up the cold chicken from the market, I tasted the fried Gang-Jeong without any sauce and it was calling out for SALT!!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris A.Garland, TX7229Jul 9, 2022
Apparently they are shut down. Real shame, we had done alot of research to pick this place for lunch.

The food is simply TERRIBLE! Hubby and I wasted $20.00 on a couple of bulgogi bowls that were inedible. The bulgogi meat was dry, overcooked, and full of gristle. I have chewed on beef jerky that was more tender. Avoid the fries, as we saw them being microwaved, and they still turned out cold and limp with way too much salt. The mixed veggies were a frozen vegetable mix with onion fillers. The bread was a piece of Texas toast. If the food was edible, the portion size was very small for the $9.00 a bowl. Not worth a return visit.

Hello Linda, I sincerely apologize about your experience at our restaurant.
Please allow me to apologize for what happened.
We had a grand opening promotion going on for UTD students and then we had much much more number of customers than we expected for the past week. And we do admit that there were some errors and compromises in the kitchen.
Again.. I sincerely apologize for your experience.
If you would ever give us another chance and return to us, I will personally make sure to take care of you.
Thank you and we hope to see you soon.
