My husband and I have been going to Fish City Grill in Sugarland for more than a decade and it never disappoints!! Their food is always delicious and the service is always excellent.

Today, we went for lunch and had the gumbo, which was some of the best we've ever eaten! And I love their hush puppies! My husband had the fried shrimp today, one of his favs. Though I usually get one of their fish specials I decided to get the shrimp tacos for lunch and they were so good!! Our waiter Rory was so attentive and kind.

You need to go, you won't be disappointed Love, love, love Fish City Grill Sugarland!!

I really wish Yelp allowed ratings in half star increments. I would have rated this restaurant 3.5 stars. At the end of the day, I asked myself would I want to come back, and if the answer was yes, then I would round up, and if the answer was no, I would round down. I determined the latter.

The atmosphere and decor are very nice. Gives the vibes of a very casual, but clean seafood restaurant. I really wanted to like this place as I'm still looking for a go-to for this type of restaurant in Houston, a place for chilled seafood like oysters, shrimp, crabs, etc. The service as good. The location is great given it's in the CityWalk Center. It was our first time at CityWalk and I would definitely go back as there seemed to be lots of restaurant choices to try.

My daughter and I had lunch here today. We had:

Dozen oysters (6 gulf and 6 blue point). I don't give ratings on raw oysters themselves as it requires no skill from the restaurant, but I will say that for the prices they charge (~$3/oyster), I would expect the presentation to be nicer and for there to be more accompanying sauces than just cocktail sauce. The presentation is just on a aluminum tray on a bed of ice.

Peel and eat shrimp - Same as above in terms of presentation. The shrimps were cooked well.

Clam Chowder - 4/5 - The soup was very good rendition of a classic New England clam chowder.

Shrimp Po'boy - 3/5 - My daughter and I split the sandwich. It was "okay" in every way. Shrimps were well grilled but other than that nothing stood out about the bread or the sauces.

Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Delicious food. Good wine. From the appetizer to the main dish all food was amazing. First visit. Won't be my last visit. No pictures of the desserts. They are addictive. Best key lime pie ever. Don't sleep on this restaurant.

The food was pretty good. However, it took a long time to get our cocktails. Our food arrived well before we got our drinks. Our server apologized and said the bar tender was doing other things. They weren't even busy so I don't get it.

My family and i had a late lunch at Sugarland location. Our server Xavier was very patient and attentive to our needs. Food was good as usual. I can't understand why the portions are now smaller. I think I had 18 fries on my plate. I ordered a half order of catfish. I assume I got half of my fries. I must say we were all disapointed by this.

I can't even believe this place has so many stars. The food is revolting to say the least. I came here on a Sunday w a friend after church. I had always passed this place in the town center and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered their grilled oysters to start. Not the best I've ever had but they were edible. For my entree I ordered the crab and shrimp stuffed flounder. The menu description gave me very high hopes. The dish came w broccoli and Parmesan rice.

Upon my first bite I was met with an off putting beery flavor. I later concluded that was the white wine sauce, but geez do restaurants not typically cook it down so that flavor doesn't take over the entire dish? My friend ordered shrimp and grits which were extremely bland. The shrimp tasted boiled, not sautéed and the sauce they put on top tasted like the seasoned water they boiled the shrimp in. Very below standard for a southern dish such as that one. We both wanted to send our dishes back and get the bill. You know, count our losses and possibly go somewhere else... sigghhh but our waiter and the manager was so sweet and apologetic, we let them swindle us into ordering something else instead smh.

My friend took the smart route and got the fried platter. I was hellbent on grilled seafood tho, so I ordered their miso cod. Oh my goodness it was rancid. The texture of the fish felt like they thawed it, glazed it, then froze it for future orders. The opacity of the fish was even questionable! I took like 2 bites, finished my side of red beans and rice, and got the hell outta there. Me nor my friend took our food w us to-go. I spent $47 B/F my tip even tho our food was so bad we both left full plates.

Only good thing ab this experience was the service, s/o to the manager and the bartender. They NEED new cooks tho cause the food here should be illegal.

Fish City Grill is always top notch. The food is always nice and fresh and tastes amazing. Service is always good and the ambiance feels homey. Good place to go to for your fish cravings and pretty decent drinks too.

I had the fish and chips with black beans and rice pictured below, 10/10 would recommended

This place was garbage. I don't know if the fish was old or cheap. It had a terrible after taste that I decided to throw up from.
I never write reviews but this place definitely deserves one.
Maybe fish was old, I'm not sure but aftertaste was terrible.

I would recommend any other place besides this. I've never had catfish this bad. Zero star if could put.

We came for Fat Tuesday and they went all out with decorations, music and the specials were amazing! The Jalapeño Bacon Mahi Tacos jumped with flavor and even the side of black beans and rice were bursting with flavor! The Pecan Crusted Trout was an elegant tasty bomb! They threw in a small appetizer and a piece of king cake! Just go and make yourself happy! PS- order a hurricane to kick it off!
