Our room was the first floor room next to the kitchen but in its own hallway- The Barnegat Room- & has its own outdoor entrance which we didn't realize until our departure LOL!

We're sure we are leaving something out but the positives were too many to recount.

What we loved about the room:
+No climbing to second floor (we're spoiled by our first floor master at home)
+Awaken by the smell of breakfast each morning
+Comfortable mattress (very hard to find in hotels)
+Strong water pressure in tub shower
      +Sitting chair
+Roku TV with live tv options
+Plenty of plugs for our mobile devices

What we loved about the property & experience:
      +Clean rooms & flooring
      +Sanitizer
+Craftsman style home with some modern touches
+Strong Wi-Fi signal for those of us who can't get off-line
+Quite house even with all rooms booked
+Wrapped around porch was inviting even if it was too hot to sit for long
+Plenty of parking on street or best under the big tree on the side parking pad
      +Greg's breakfast each morning
+Cape Charles beach front (love sign) 5 minute car ride away
+Kiptopeke State Park beach 15 minutes by car
+Shopping & dining district also 5 mins by car

This is a top tier BnB.

Stayed here for a weekend, and was blown away! A beautiful place, with the nicest owners. Our flight was cancelled and they were so accommodating. Wonderful place and people!

I recently stayed here with my boyfriend for five days (which I feel is an extended stay in the "Bed and Breakfast" world lol, so we got the full expeience) and I cannot say enough good things about this place. We loved our room, the house and property were beautiful, everything was clean, and not only were the breakfasts delicious- Greg and Donna were incredibly nice people who were always willing to help with any questions or helpful suggestions about the area. And while it's not right on/across from the beach, it's in a pretty convenient part of town, near the main road to get in/out and to all the shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a wonderful place to return to after a long day of beaching, fishing, adventuring, exploring, etc... this is it.

If you are thinking of a couple of days getaway trip or you are on your way south, be sure to visit Cape Charles. Virginia. The ride will be much nicer than via 95 which is often traffic heavy. For lodging, we highly recommend The Fig Street Inn. Donna and Greg are lovely host and will go out of their way to make your stay a memorable occasion. Great communication, beautiful rooms with amazing bedding and towels. Greg will cook you a hearty breakfast tailored to your taste. Donna makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. It is within walking distance of shops, museum and the beach. There is off-street parking for 4 cars. We look forward to a return trip and staying at the Fig Street Inn.

Have stayed at Fig Street every October since 2014 and in all the rooms but the Chesapeake. We like the Barnegat Room best as we are birders and need to get up EARLY and like its private entry so we do not disturb other guests. Greg always make delicious breakfasts or leaves to-go for us. Donna is involved in the local art scene and knows all the venues and artists. Greg can fix anything as fast as an omelette and can recommend best places to dine. Almost do not want anyone to know about this gem!

There's a lot to love about this place. This is a grand, old house, beautifully refurbished with high end fixtures and furnishings. The Fig Street Inn manages to be lux yet cozy and never stuffy.
Our room was on the first floor, with a separate entrance. The bed was comfortable (especially the thick, buttery bed linens!). It's not a spacious room, but there was more than enough space for my husband and me. The bathroom is lovely with a beautifully tiled soaking tub. There were lots of thoughtful touches: chocolates in our room, complementary beach chairs and towels, bottled water and soft drinks. What struck me first, however, was the cleanliness; our room and bathroom were white-glove spotless. The house is stylish yet really cozy. My husband and I loved relaxing with coffee and a book on the front wraparound porch after a day at the beach.
Donna and Greg are wonderful hosts. They're kind and accommodating and made us feel at home right away. Breakfast was delicious (I especially loved the french bread french toast), served each morning with fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins and really excellent coffee. My husband and I enjoyed lingering over coffee at the dining table, chatting with other guests, Donna and Greg.
The Inn is a couple blocks from the main street's shops and restaurants. It's a short walk to the beach. There is plenty of parking right in front of the house. I'm happy to recommend this Inn - we will definitely be back!

We often stay at B&B's and even used to actually own one. The Fig Street Inn is about the best one can find. The hosts are always available, the breakfasts are all homemade and fantastic and the Inn is beautiful. Everything is first class. My wife said she has never slept on sheets of this high quality. Everything you can think of is already in you room including loads of extra fluffy towels. It's a short walk to town and also to the beach. The grounds are also quite impressive with lots of outdoor quiet space to enjoy. We will soon return to this fine establishment.

I've been to this Inn twice now. It's lovely!! Greg and Donna are wonderful and can tell you everything you need to know about Cape Charles. The Inn is on a quiet street, not a lot of traffic or tourists. The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is excellent. I plan to come back often!!!

A wonderful b&b! It was our perfect New Years getaway! The owners are very nice and take very good care of the guests. Each room is decorated differently, however, the decor syncs in perfectly with the spirit of the place and the inn itself. They make amazing breakfast and can easily adjust to your preferences and food intolerance! I would highly recommend this b&b as a perfect getaway and as family vacation!i
