Stayed here last night on my wedding night and Kevin and Cassie could have not made the experience any better!! The house is an adorable typical New England home and our room (The Grandpa Cummings Suite) was unbelievably quaint and spotless! I wish I could sleep in that bed every night, it was soooo comfortable. The grounds around the house were beautiful and my husband and I really enjoyed drinking tea and walking around admiring the garden. For breakfast we had buttermilk pancakes with locally smoked bacon, Cassie's homemade blueberry butter, local maple syrup and fresh fruit. Kevin talked to us during our breakfast and really made us feel at home. I would highly recommend the Federal Inn B&B!!

my boyfriend and i stayed here and are so thankful we did!
kevin sets a new bar for hospitality and warmth. he gave us fantastic recommendations that set the tone for the remainder of our road trip to Maine.
everything about this place is charming and intentional. and very very clean if I might add!
we arrived very late after getting lost and Kevin was kind enough to check us in after hours , communicate consistently, and greet us with warmth despite disturbing his sleep.
his scones and breakfast were delicious and set the tone for a day of exploring!
thank you kevin for being such a special part of our weekend- until next time.
if you're considering booking here - just do it you won't regret it! 10 starsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Georgia G.Placentia, CA09Oct 8, 2022
Charming house and charming innkeeper! This was the B&B of my dreams! Beautiful historic building, gorgeous rooms and Kevin the wonderful host! He made us feel like we were old friends visiting in his home. There was wine, coffee, tea and wonderful cookies available at all times. For breakfast he made Crab Cakes Benedict which were amazing! The yard was gorgeous with a little stream running through it. I hope to return someday.

A lovely little place with awesome hosts and fantastic food! Kevin is passionate about his community and an excellent resource for visitors, not to mention his focus on locally sourced ingredients for meals.
The house itself is compact and cozy, and very welcoming . As others have mentioned, complimentary beer, wine and port and an evening sweet treat are waiting for you.

We had a great weekend in the area made better by staying here. Kevin really does go the extra mile and then some. Its really cool to stay in a place like this that is so old, yet so perfectly kept up. Crazy comfortable mattresses, excellent breakfast and baked treats. The hard work put in here shows in every part of your visit. Can't wait to come back here on my next trip up.

Stayed here for the second time last weekend and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. There is a lot of great hiking nearby and nothing beats coming back to this B&B for a quick shower, going to the brewery/pizza joint next door for dinner, then returning to the hot tub with a glass of port that Kevin always makes available.
Great breakfast too. We will be back again in the spring for our next hike.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Heather H.Willimantic, Willimantic, CT08Aug 30, 2020
This is a fantastic bed and breakfast. Kevin is attentive and knowledgeable about the area, and his breakfasts are great! We stayed for a weekend of hiking and slept well on the comfy bed, enjoyed the water pressure and lasting hot water (not found everywhere!), enjoyed the local fare, and enjoyed talking to Kevin in the evenings! Complimentary wine, port, beer, water, and sweet treats were a definite bonus! We would definitely like to go back!!

My wife and I love staying at the Federal House Inn when we visit New Hampshire. We recently stayed at the Inn for our 5th time. Kevin and his wife (and their dog Baily) are always welcoming and friendly. In the mornings Kevin provides home cooked breakfasts that are absolutely delicious. We also love meeting and socializing with the other guess that stay at the Inn as well. It is a lot more personable than staying in a hotel. We highly recommend the Federal House Inn!!

The Federal House is everything I search for and hope for in a B&B: comfort, classic elegance, attention to the details, interesting conversation with the innkeeper, privacy when I want it, helpfulness, warmth, and good vibes. Close to Plymouth and the Common Man conference center where I was attending an event, this place is beautiful and uncommon. Highly recommended.

I found this bed and breakfast on Craigslist while looking for somewhere to stay during a short snowboarding vacation to Waterville Valley. The photographs online looked really beautiful, and the cost was extremely reasonable for a bed and breakfast, so I thought, 'why not?'
This place is amazing. We stayed in Doris' wedding suite (I highly recommend this room!). Never before have I been pampered with such luxury. With a hot tub, beautiful Victorian decor (including a clawfoot bathtub, two robes, and fancy toiletries in the room!) and apple cinnamon fragrance filling each room of the house, what was not to like?
The full breakfasts were two courses, delicious and varied from eggs to pancakes, to keish, wine and cheese were served each evening, and complimentary beer, soda, and a bottle of port sat in the corner of the lounge for guests to indulge at any time. The innkeepers, Andrea and Frank, live in an annex to the house, and can be accessed easily. They were wonderful, although we didn't get to spend as much time with them as past guest had (or so it seemed from the guest book left in our room).
Overall, 5 stars, absolutely wonderful, couldn't have better service or facilities. Definitely would like to return next year!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
