Unfortunately had a bad stay here. I woke up at 4am due to feeling multiple things crawling on my face and neck. I jump up and slap them off and turn on the light to see 2 massive cockroaches running on the pillow. I immediately try and hunt them down while waking my wife as she goes into a panic attack because she already has Katsaridaphobia (fear of roaches). I wake my daughter up since one runs under her sofa bed and am able to kill one.
I take the dead ROACH I killed to front desk and show the night audit and she tells me she will switch my room to another. We gather our belongings while my wife is already telling me how she is throwing everything away because we don't know if eggs were laid in our backpacks or clothing. We leave room 223 and go into room 321. As I turn on the light by the bed I see a huge ROACH run under the bed while seeing another dead one by the light stand.
I head back down to front desk and it's already close to 6am now. Speak with the agent and she says they will cancel my stay so I can go to another hotel. I wait until 7am 715am to speak with management but am told they won't be in until later in the day but they would contact me. I have to gather my wife and daughter and belongings and look for another hotel to stay in which already made things more inconvenient. Nobody ever reached out to me and as a Marriott Bonvoy member I'm very disappointed. 2 days go by and nothing until I call corporate.
Avoid this nasty hotel they don't care about youHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 24, 2023
Hotel was very comfortable and cozy! Welcoming environment and helpful staff. We checked in at around 10 or 11 pm and enjoyed our time at Fairfield. The hotel is located right off the highway, near the domain and maybe 10-12 minutes away from downtown Austin, Texas. Breakfast is served at 9am.

Another budget hotel in Austin, except this is next to the fairly popular area of the Domain and Arboretum.
Located about 30 min from the airport and 20 min from downtown Austin, not the most centrally located for going to Austin, but plenty of things to do nearby. This fairfield is definitely not the newest, decent size lobby, efficient enough check-in. Parking lot is nicely sized so no issues there. Oh, breakfast is always decent Marriott budget solid - really enjoy the waffles.
Rooms are typical budget fairfield - somewhat thin sheets, comfortable enough bed. Rooms are actually decently spacious, bathroom is small but usable. Didn't have too much noise at night keeping me up so isolated well enough (but also not super busy when I went). Wi-fi worked well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erica L.Midtown, Tyler, TX093Jul 5, 2023

Checking in didn't go very smoothly. And on the last night we got our van broken into. The front side window was shattered. No cameras or any type of security to keep this from happening.

The staff was amazing. The hotel was clean, secure and the bed made me want to skip out on work. The staff made my work trip feel like a vacation. The lady working the breakfast area was the best!!! I enjoyed how knowledgeable the staff was about the area. The recommendation for the restaurant, Culinary Dropout was spot on. Can't wait to stay here on my next trip!!

Very good price for the area. Stayed for 5 nights Jul 2021. First couple nights were in a standard room, then the last 3 in a suite. While the hotel/rooms appeared outdated, and could use some modern touches, everything was clean. Both units were spacious, with good size desks and comfortable chairs to work 5-6 hours straight. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was a little less ideal, you would have to go a bit around to get on the freeway. There weren't many restaurants within walking distance, but many with 6-8 mins drive. As it located near train tracks, it could be loud at times but I got used to it.
I would stay here again for the great values and services, and would upgrade to a suite when avail as the price difference is minimal.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Angelina S.Sugar Land, TX1317528Aug 26, 2019
I booked with Travelocity. Checked in on Saturday evening . Evening because I was involved in a motorcycle accident on my way there. Not their fault but I just wanted to come to my room and rest. At check in I was asked for my card for liability reasons. Walked away and was notified by bank I was charged twice. I went to the front desk and was told It was charged in error and should see my money in my account The next day (Sunday). Monday morning I call and speak to the manager and explain my whole situation and was simply given a response of the typical customer service response. Feel, felt, found... I also found out the refund for the double charged had not even been processed that Saturday evening as I was informed.
This error made a bad situation worse. I come to Austin often and know where I will not be staying from now forward.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - N J.Skillman, NJ091Jun 4, 2022
I must have been fooled by the term 'Marriott' but there was NOTHING Marriott here. It was just an 'inn'. The rooms smelled very bad, dark and windows don't have the ability to open. Housekeeping did what they can, but it's a hopeless place. The bagels for breakfast were defrosted. You can feel the water left from the defrost and they were soggy at some ends. The only positive moment we had was with Daniella at the front desk with our room concern. I mean, think about it. Who asks for ANYONES name at any place if they were the only glimpse of hope. Never never again. It's a motel 8, save your money and go there.
