Q:
Do they offer a happy hour?
A:
I'm not sure. They have daily food specials on weekdays, but I don't know about bar/drink/happy hour specials.
Leah L.Â5 months agoQ:
Are the corn tortillas and chips gluten-free? Is there a gluten-free menu?
A:
Hi Not sure if they are or not however it appears that there are dishes on the menu that would be naturally gluten-free. For more information text them at info@eldoradocafeatx.com

One of my favorite restaurants in Austin hands down. Whenever I have people visiting I always suggest this place for their delicious enchiladas! My go to is the chicken verde enchiladas with mashed potatoes and rice as the sides. I always get the salsa flight as well and have eaten here quite a few times and it has never disappointed.
One thing to note is the wait can get very long and you must be there in person to put your name down so on days where you really can't wait, I would highly recommend ordering to go -it's just as delicious. They have specials on certain days and one of them being birria tacos on Wednesdays! Definitely need to stop by to try that out. Amazing!
Ambiance is amazing and the staff is always so helpful for picking out what is best suited for you if you need help. There's lots of options on the menu!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 8, 2024Previous reviewThe enchiladas are to die for. This is hands down my favorite place to eat so far in Austin. The freshness of the food is amazing and I love the variety of sides you can choose from. My go to is the verde chicken enchilada plate with rice and mashed potatoes.
We also always get the salsa flight which is amazing and queso! The staff is always so friendly and helpful if you don't know what to get. Sometimes the wait is over 2 hours so it's better to just go ahead and order to go. I have yet to come back on a Wednesday to try their Birria tacos! - Mar 22, 2024
Phenomenal. Perfection.
Service was excellent. She was on top of everything. Couldn't have been better.
Ordered the Nomad plate for breakfast. The flavors and spices and added veggies were amazing. Each bite was awesome whether it was eggs or potatoes or beans. All was delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 9685386Mar 13, 2024
Food: 5/5
Service: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
Order as shown in pictures:
Eldorado Burrito with chicken
Veg Enchiladas with cheese
We have been here multiple times and it has become a go to spot for dinner. Servers are very suggestive and accommodating. A good portion size that will make you get a to go box in the end.
Initially they serve chips and salsa. You get to choose from three types of salsa. Hot medium and mild. Will recommend Medium spicy as it hits the perfect spot.
Last time I ordered chicken mole enchiladas. Chicken was smoky and tasty but mole sauce was too cinnamony... it tasted good but I'll recommend chicken burrito over mole enchilada any day. It is crispy from the outside and juicy in the middle with lots of chicken and veggies. All dishes that we ordered came with a side of beans and rice.
Veggie enchiladas with cheese was good but I'll recommend it with veggies or chicken. Cheese on top of cheese becomes to cheesy in the end. All dishes that we ordered could be shared with another person as quantity is hugeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 14, 20241 check-in
Busy busy spot so make reservations, we had a great server who was spot on for food on time and getting us drinks. Salsa was a good creamer one which we enjoyed. I wanted enchiladas and got them with cheese.
8 of us there and all finished our plates as it was delicious. We will be back for special occasions.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2024
A friend came to visit Austin, and one of the places we checked out was here.
We went on a Saturday night, late - around 7:45pm, and they were still busy. We probably waited 45min to an hour, but the time went by quickly. We sat in their outdoor seating area and ordered some salsa, queso dip, and a mocktail.. and everything was delicious. I think they're known for their salsa spread, but we were in love with their queso dip.
Honestly, after munching on the tortilla Chips and getting a refill, we were starting to get full. So, by the time we got seated, we ended up ordering one enchilada plate (their portions are huge) and we still had leftovers (about half leftover) that we ended up taking to go. Their enchilada was good - we ordered their Rene's Awesome Enchiladas.
Even though we were full, we still ordered dessert, because why not? We got their donuts (which came in 4) and they were so good with the jam!! I have a sweet tooth, so the donuts were my favorite out of everything, then the queso dip.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 40158966Dec 11, 20236 check-ins
So this is delicious. Consistently, fabulously good.
We've eaten here several times, weekend and during the week, and the food is delicious presented beautifully, and served by really fun staff.
We will be coming back here. A lot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2024
Food: the papas rellenas and the black beans are mind-blowing; other honorable mentions include the mole and the flight of salsas. The carnitas are good, but I've made better at home. Let me know if you want the recipe.
Service: very good, especially considering how crazy busy this place is
Ambiance: an introvert's nightmare--one large open room, packed full of people. The women's restroom was clean!
I'd come back just for those damn beans and fried potatoes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 23, 2024
This restaurant is set back from the road and just behind Mopac. Plenty of parking and seating inside even some seating outside. This was our first time here, but it appears this is a very popular place for the neighborhood locals.
They do have a full bar, however, I was disappointed they do not have frozen margaritas and their craft beer selection is fairly limited. They have no beer on tap either....seriously!?
They do start you off some complementary chips and they do have six salsas to choose from. However, I was not a fan of the overly salty thick style corn chips and the salsa fresca was basically flavorless. Sadly it was their only red salsa. You also only get 2 oz of salsa which goes fast, even the queso was a mere 4 oz for $5.
This was starting out as a 2 star review, but then the high point of the meal was their beef enchiladas and my wife's vegan choices. Not your typical TexMex for sure. Black beans are the primary side, but you can substitute baracho beans for $1 more. If you want two homemade flour tortillas that'll set you back $1.50. Even though we were pleasantly filled, it occurred to us that no dessert menu was offered at the end. So you'll have to order your dessert with the meal, although you never know how full you're gonna be at the end.
The service was fairly attentive, but for me, it was kind of a mixed bag, some things were good, but there were some things that underwhelmed. I give them credit for an extensive menu, including vegan options, even a kids menu. When it's time to settle up, they'll hand you their handheld device for your credit card. As a sidenote, they are big supporters of fostering and adopting dogs. Atmosphere ***, service ****, food ***1/2, drinks **1/2, Overall ***1/2.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 2 - Oct 3, 2023
An hour and a half wait on a Friday night for a table for 2, but the bar is open seating. You can also grab a drink at the bar and wait on the patio.
Service was very attentive once we were seated. A local lady at the bar told me this was a communal kitchen, which is a nice concept. Both head chef and owner (I believe) are allergic to fish so no pescatarian items on the menu.
Really did not love their margarita with blackberry. Tasted very acidic.
Food was good, had enough to take some home & was still good reheated. Although for the price and the wait, I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 2
