We arrived for our food tour a bit early so we decided to pop in for a Mojito. It was excellent!
This spot was also on our food tour for the best empanadas and coffee! We had a beef and spinach & cheese on the tour. The best empanadas I've ever had.
This spot has been featured in several movies!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 214761713480Apr 24, 20241 check-in
Highly recommended from a lot of people in the Calle Ocho area. I will say, nothing beats $6 all day Mojito Mondays so that for sure was my favorite part. Bonus points if you're actually there on a Monday, and we sure were.
After snacking around and trying different bites around Calle Ocho, it was time for a meal, an authentic Cuban meal.
From croquetas to sandwiches, fufu to rice and beans, here you will find all the delicious staples.
We ordered mariquitas because these felt so nostalgic to me from years ago and our friends always ordering them and sadly they weren't as fresh as we would've liked and the mojo was straight up garlic (flavorless). Either way we loved our rice and beans and the sweet maduros we got. Our friends ordered sandwiches and they were HUGE (big enough to share).
El Pub is a big staple of Calle Ocho but next time we'll probably try something else when we're not in a hurry. Definitely a quick place to get a sit down meal or sandwich, so if you're just casually dining or needed to be on the faster side, this place is pretty great for that. Mojito Monday, we will be back.

I've seen the Little Havana food tours stop here for a coffee and empanada. So we chose it for lunch. They claim to be the oldest restaurant in Little Havana. I had the tostones rellenos with chicken, still in search of the best in town. The tostones were a bit oily and needed salt. I prefer it when they are shaped like cups to hold the filling.
My friend had the fufu de platano, a Cuban mofongo. Served beautifully in a wooden trencher. She enjoyed.
The place was pretty full and the service good. They did not rush us when we were finished.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 15, 2024
We went in because they looked busy when walking around in little Havana and I am glad we did.
We just wanted to get pre lunch drinks but also ended up getting the Chicken empanadas along with The Cuban beer and the Pina colada. Everything was good and the service was excellent.
The ambient is rustic old time theme and we loved it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 15, 2024
Cool place that serves coffee, empanadas and variety of other foods! The beef empanada was crisp and flavorful. When dipped in their spicy sauce, it took it next level! The coffee was sweet and strong. You only need a bit to wake you up!

Male host was welcoming & actually thanked us for coming in.
Our waitress was less then friendly.
We had to ask twice for our condiments.
Had the Miami club, and a side of mixed rice and beans.
The sandwich was good. The rice and beans was cold, and tasted dry and old.
The waitress did not check on us once.
A second waitress brought our check and brought us a Togo box. They offered booths, tables and bar seating. They also had outside seating.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 9, 20241 check-in
Yum... ABSOLUTE DELICIOUSNESS!!!! We had a very long layover in Miami so we decided to visit Little Havana. There are tons of boutique restaurants along Calle 8, but something about El Pub was welcoming. It's definitely not the prettiest restaurant from the outside, but sometimes those are the best spots to eat. The interior is like going to your elder's house, the one that cooks the best food.
We were greeted immediately when we walked in and sat at the bar in the front. The menu had LOTS of great options but I went with the beef empanadas and the Cuban sandwich. Can't be in Little Havana and NOT get a Cuban sandwich and a cafecito. The cafe Cubano was so delicious! It was smooth and flavorful. The food came out really quick too. The empanadas were STUFFED with filling. Soooo good!!! The Cuban sandwich was delicious! The bread was crispy on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. Everything was so yummy. The price was awesome for everything I got. Will definitely return when I'm in Miami.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 11, 20241 check-in
Walk up to the window and ask for a café cubano. Sugar or no sugar, that's up to you. Typically it's ordered with the sugar, just in case you were wondering. Stand outside against a wooden counter and take in the beautiful surroundings and wonderful breeze. Folks working here are super friendly. It's the Best!

We were told El Pub was known for their empanadas and they did not disappoint!
The restaurant was BUSY on Sunday afternoon. Thank goodness they have a to-go window. We quickly ordered and the empanadas were ready in less than 5 minutes.
The beef empanadas were bomb. The pastry was so flakey and buttery - ugh, I would've enjoyed that crust without the filling. lol but they do pack in the beef! The hot sauce they serve with it adds a nice kick of flavor.
Definitely a must try when you're in Little Havana!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
