The blackened flounder pappardelle was SO salty. I could not eat it without drinking water after every bite. I had to have some of my other party help me finish. It left such a terrible taste in my mouth. It was not worth $19.
I got the chocolate espresso cake just to get the salty taste out of my mouth. It ended up being dry. It tasted a day old and too crumbly.
Another person from my party got the ghost burger and it was straight up RAW. When he first took a bite, he thought it was medium rare, but he pulled off the bun and it was RARE.
The champagne shrimp mac & cheese my brother got was actually very good!!! But the bread that came with it was stale as anything. We took a bite and it hurt the roof of my mouth because it was so hard.
The food here is so overpriced and does not taste good. I would not even pay half price for this food. It was inedible (except for the mac).Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 2019
This place is super cute! I love the interior decor. The wood tables and benches, the crisp linens and bright greenery on each table are all very inviting and provencal.
We didn't have to wait long for a table on a Saturday morning at this popular spot near Mockingbird station. The wait staff were very pleasant and thorough at their jobs.
The menu didn't win me over, and I found the food to be even less appealing. I ordered the raclette. It's a type of cheese, but it is also a way of serving a particular meal in France. Usually the raclette is melted over new potatoes and often vegetables like onions and mushrooms and sometimes meats like ham or sausage. My dish was more like a plate of nachos. The cheese had the consistency of ballpark queso served on top of POTATO CHIPS! I kid you not! There were a few small wedges of actual new potato and bits of ham in the mix, but mostly it was a plate of potato chips, doused in queso with a layer of scrambled eggs on top. $15 for that bait and switch plate.
My hubby went for a crepe which was folded into a square with filling inside. The side of sausage had hints of blueberry infused. It was intriguing, but overall, we regretted our $45 meal and wish we had cooked omelettes at home instead.
If I came back, I think I would try their bakery items instead. Those might be worth a try. Just realize, Edith's is very Americanized and has a very unique twist on classic dishes.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2019
Since we had fried chicken the day before at Smithy, I personally wanted to stay from carbs for this meal, so I ordered a Tenderloin Omelet, the wife ordered the Short Rib Poutine. My omelet was underwhelming whereas my wife's dish was really good, though they skimped a little on the short rib part. It was all sweet potato, but the flavor was there. This place gets really busy during brunch hours on a Sunday, so prepare for a wait or make reservations.
The service is great and they have some really great desserts. If we do come back, I will try that fried chicken for sure.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

David thank you for the review and I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit and the food and service. I have spoken to the kitchen manager regarding the omelette and we will be working to make sure the tenderloin omelette is never underwhelming moving forward. We believe it is a great dish that deserves to be recognized and I appreciate you pointing that out. We hope to have you and your wife come back to visit us soon!

A French bistro in Dallas in Mockingbird Station. The ambience is classic French starting with the music, the baguettes, and rolling pins on the walls. This business has been here for over a year. Edith is an actual person and makes all of the pastries, jams, food.
We had the Vanilla Pan Perdu (French toast) and it was exceptional and tasted like custard! The brioche is covered in a dark rum batter, fresh strawberries, creme anglaise, with chocolate and almonds. SUPERB!! We also had the Short Rib Hash which is served in a bowl that says Edith. This has roasted vegetables, smoked bacon, Brown gravy, and a sunny side up egg. It is a savory and delicious.
We ordered a croissant to go and they packed it with Edith's house made jam (not too sweet tart blackberry jam)
We came back the next day!
We will be back again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 20, 2018Previous reviewWe had the avocado toast on brioche topped with an egg and the chicken and croissant and slit them and they were very good. We split them and had a great selection.

Impressive. Beautiful little French cafe with a pleasing aesthetic/ambiance. Our server was a young guy who was very kind as helpful. He was also VERY attentive to our table without being intrusive.
Food looks intimidating from the prices, BUT it's picture perfect and SOOOO good. Very well done! Love it. Thank you!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 134305377Apr 7, 2019Updated review
I continue to be impressed by Edith's, every visit is something to remember and I am always happy with my dish. This time, I got the champagne macaroni and cheese with shrimp, and took a few of their desserts to go. I loved my adult Mac and cheese, it was sophisticated, yet creamy and delicious with nothing interfering with the base flavors. The service is wonderful and always friendly.
I kinda wish Edith's wasn't in Mockingbird station, and had a free-standing location. I'm not a huge fan of the flow of the restaurant. I also wish they had a semi private or private seating area, which would allow for parties and other events. It's such a cute venue for baby and bridal showers, birthdays, and other weekend events.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jan 11, 2019Previous reviewStop what you are doing, come get the warm oatmeal pie with vanilla ice cream and caramel. I really liked this cute little French cafe! The décor is bright, fun and inviting and the staff was nice.
I had the house salad and French onion soup. Both were great! I really enjoyed all the fresh fruit in the salad and the flavors complimented each other well. I also liked their spin on the French onion soup, quite tasty!
Daughter #1 loved her house salad as well (like, almost licked the bowl!), but wasn't as impressed with the tomato soup. I gave it a taste and wasn't a fan either; it had a strong "roasted" flavor that was a bit off putting.
Daughter #2 loved her chicken and croissant! No complaints!
Hubs enjoyed the "ghost burger", but was sniffling the whole time from the heat of the pepper! Lol I don't think he would get it again, but he said it was still good.
We finished with a pecan tart and vanilla bean ice cream...pretty good, not amazing. And daughter 2 had the crème brûlée, which she liked.
We would certainly revisit!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 828391851Dec 21, 2018
Atmosphere: 4.5/5; Food: 4/5
Food: I ordered a hot chocolate and it was pretty, but it wasn't actually hot. After getting another it was very yummy. I ordered the breakfast crepe for my entree. I don't think I actually like crepes so I can't fairly review it. The bacon was cooked perfectly! The sausage was different and really really good! I changed my Crêpe to pancakes and they were perfect!
Atmosphere: Super cute bistro in a very nice shopping center. The restaurant is larger than it appears and has a really cute decor. They definitely do a good job fitting the French decor. The server was helpful as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2019
I just happened to be walking down the street and saw this place and decided to go in. The moment I walked in I was greeted and asked if I was dining in. I explained that I just wanted to look over the menu. However something caught my eye and I wondered further into the place to see that they had pastries and desserts!
I had a few questions about what I was looking at as there weren't labels and decided on a traditional croissant and another pastry that I was told had assorted fruit in it. They had a nice variety of macaroons available however I decided id come come back on another day to try them as well as the crepes.
The two items I got came up to $10 so I just knew I was in for a treat. I got home and bit into the one with the fruit (tasted like blueberries) and I wasn't very impressed. However I knew that my croissant would be the saving grace . . . But it wasn't. It was dry, burnt on the bottom and it wasn't buttery like other ones I've had. To say that I feel like I wasted my money is an understatement!
All the staff were friendly . . . And I felt that was worth a star.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 20310554821Aug 22, 2018
This elegant French country cafe is located among the Mockingbird Station shops. Surprisingly there was a polite police officer standing outside and there was another in a store I went to after brunch - I barely noticed them but I guess it's nice if you're paranoid. Inside, there's plenty of seating including an Instagram-worthy couch area near the front of the restaurant.
Unfortunately, I have a sore throat or else I would have been more adventurous with my food selection and would have also ordered coffee as well but I'll save those for my next visit. My french onion soup was a bit on the salty side though I've found that almost every one I've ever had tend to be salty, so maybe I just need to adjust what my thought of this soup is supposed to taste like?
My friend and I split the champagne shrimp mac and cheese and it was delightful! I don't understand why I can't make mac and cheese this good, ugh. The sauce was so creamy and plentiful and the shrimps were huge! Didn't taste the champagne but I'm sure it does something to the texture of the sauce.
We finished our meal with the neapoleon dessert, which was fluffy whipped cream and fresh raspberries between two puff pastry rounds. The whipped cream had to have been made in-house because it was delicious enough to eat plain and I'm not even a whipped cream fan. It's nothing like that overly sweet, processed stuff in stores.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
