I recently purchased four rugs and one stair runner from East Windsor Floor Covering. The total cost was $9,083.71. The runner and 3 rugs are fine. My husband and I, plus a guest, had allergic reactions to the fourth one which is a polypropylene rug. I had hives and a rash, my husband had a rash and my guest had a migraine headache, all on the day the rug arrived and thereafter. I did not request a refund but I did request an exchange. I would give them the $9.31 square foot rug for them to sell in exchange for a cheaper rug from their in-stock inventory which costs about $4 a sq. They refused saying that the rug was a custom rug (which it is) and would be hard to sell. I said it was a large rug which could easily be cut down to fit a smaller room. They said they would try to sell it and if they could they would refund some of my money. However, if I wanted another rug, I would have to buy one and wait to see if the polypropylene rug sold. I'm very disappointed. I have purchased rugs from this store in the past and would like them to have treated a past and current customer more satisfactorily. I have four more rugs for which they have already measured but I will NOT be purchasing them from this store. They have lost a formerly loyal customer.

I opened a Blow Dry Bar under East Windsor Floor Covering and I needed new floors for my space. I went upstairs and was amazed by the selection of floors they had. But ultimately the sale women told me that I could spend a lot of money on a real wood floor but it would need so much maintenance that I would be a slave to trying to preserve it, and guided me towards a beautiful wood laminate floor. It's incredible. So many compliments. It was so affordable and when I tell you a piece of cake to take care off. Crazy easy.

Extremely professional, starting with Terry and his understanding of what we were trying to accomplish as economically as possible. We had vinyl plank flooring installed and I cannot stress what a great job Junior and his team did. John did everything to accommodate what ever else we needed and we are very pleased with the results.

We had hardwood flooring put down last year. They told me at the store they will use concrete floor leveler to level the subfloor where its needed.
When the guys came to install the floor, I had to insist they level the floor with concrete leveler as per manufacturer approved method.
The foreman had to run to Home Depot to get it. Apparently they didn't expect anyone to read the instructions.
I had to follow them and re-trowel the concrete for levelness.
In one area, they laid the padding and flooring down on wet concrete before I discovered it.
In another area, there was not enough leveled and they used 2 layers of padding to level the floor and told me it was ok to do so. Well, guess what, the floor boards in that area is starting to crack and break.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe M.Plainsboro, NJ01730Mar 1, 2016
An awesome experience - Thank You John and Junior!
The price was extremely fair, the products used were as agreed, the installation was flawless and the end result exceeded expectations!!
We read the few reviews and they seemed to be biased. My wife's co-worker had some flooring work done by East Windsor recently and were very happy with it. We took the plunge and very pleased we did ---
In a nutshell, John came out for an estimate to floor the entire 2nd floor, we agreed on a very fair price for the job, Junior and the installation crew came to the house on time (actually 15 minutes early), they worked on only our project, worked through lunch, completed on time (2 1/2 days) and left the place spotless each day --- and the end result was fantastic!
My wife wishes that we had used them for a remodeling project 3 years ago because the difference in attitude, work ethic and results is night and day - and East Windsor is that sunshine!
We'll be having them do our bathroom remodel in a short time and look forward to their professionalism and attention to detail - thanks again for the great and outstanding work!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul C.New York, NY334776208Apr 25, 2015
Our two experiences at East Windsor Floor Covering/Carpet One were mostly positive.
The first time our sales associate was patient as it took us a while to figure out how we were going to carpet our family room. He went through a variety of fabrics, colors and met with us three separate times before we pulled the trigger.
It was nice having him come by the house, compare the carpet to our walls and the existing layout to make sure we were happy with our purchase.
The installation of the carpet was quick and the guys did a fantastic job. They pointed out issues with the previous carpet and took pains to show what they were doing to make sure we wouldn't see that happen again with our purchase.
For our runner, the experience was a trickier. They were cool letting us take home a fabric sample so we could compare it to our wall. The initial estimate was great, but then--oops they didn't have the size in their sale section/stock, so it would cost more. And then the runner choices were limited (unless you're into standard/kinda boring patterns), so the price went up when we had to pick another "custom" fabric. It ended up being double the initial estimate.
The installation was lackluster the second time. The guys came a half hour outside of the delivery window and then said it would take way more than the two hours the store said it would because they had to go back-and-forth to get some stuff. If they came in the window that would have been fine, but since they were late it made things more inconvenient for us.
For our inconvenience they gave us some extra carpet, but it took me two weeks of bugging them to get it.
These guys are good, but not without issues. Still, I'd probably go here versus anywhere else in the area. Just make sure you have your ducks in a row. Keep an eye on your budget and make sure you give yourself a good amount of time for the install. It won't be as cheap as Home Depot, but you'll be happy with the results.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Thought Y.Trenton, NJ05Sep 16, 2015
Spent thousands with this outfit in tile and carpet only to have them leave the job unfinished. Had to call back three times to get them to finish it and after they messed up the appointment time twice told me a complete clean up was MY problem.
Management makes excuses for bad crews and doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin B.Monroe Township, NJ0612Mar 7, 2012First to Review
After spending countless hours in all the floor stores in Central New Jersey and online, etc.. My wife and I were so relieved to deal with East Windsor Floor Co. The prof no pressure staff was awesome. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of variety they had in their showroom. The installers showed up exactly on time and originally a 2 day job turned into only 5 hours to completion. I would highly recommend this business to anyone interested in purchasing flooring.

We are looking for new carpet for the bedroom and found East Windsor Floor Covering. I spoke with Erica on the phone and she was very nice. After she emailed me a quote for 52 a yard installed for this carpet we went into the store to give them a deposit. We met with Erica and John Block the owner. John looked at the quote and said we cant sell this carpet for this price and the price has to go up to 60 a yard. This is after they emailed us a written quote ! Can you imagine doing business like this ? We left very unhappy and the next day Erica called and said she spoke with the other owner and there were price increases and they cant do it for the price quoted. They totally scammed us and expected us to just pay the higher price.
Called around a few days later and found is for 50 at more than one dealer.
