I am confused why there are two Earl of Sandwich locations in this plaza when there is only one Earl of Sandwich restaurant here. I am going to take an educated guess and say it was originally in the Shell station where Subway is located? I may be wrong, but... yeah.
Anyways, this is going to be quite quick as I already reviewed this location. Restaurant is located inside the Fort Pierce/Port Saint Lucie Service Plaza on the Florida Turnpike. Gives off a somewhat upscale "mall food court" feeling but that is a-okay as this place was meant to be a quick stop for families to rest during long road trips or drives.
The food generally is good but may vary if worth it given the length of sandwiches, which is about six to eight inches, to the price point nearing $7. I know there are footlongs that get more bang for your buck at Subway but I will say the Earl of Sandwich sandwiches are "Fancy Schmancy" and delicious for what you pay for. Definitely like the classics: The Earl Club and Full Montagu.
Is it the best food in the plaza? Probably not, but it is good and overall a great option compared to the other eateries there. I actually will prefer this one over the Dunkin' Donuts, Auntie Anne's, and Wendy's there. Maybe, just maybe, if it were lunchtime, I'd pick the Italian place simply because it has that "mall food court Italian" kinda nostalgia and Sbarro's is just a memory.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 3, 2023
If I lived close, I'd be the Duke of Earl of Sandwich. Such Tender Cows!!! Their roast beef had to be the most pillowy soft, easy to bite beef I've ever bit into. This location is in a Service Plaza on the FL Turnpike and if you're traveling the turnpike, definitely keep this chain in mind.
Ordering and getting the sandwich was a bit slow, but this was a rest stop with about an hour until closing and only 2 people were working. The sandwich was made with care and tasted great. The BLT was pretty good too. The sandwiches were a little on the smaller side, but they did the job for the drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando!Helpful 23Thanks 4Love this 24Oh no 0 - Aug 19, 2023
Hey listen, I know it's not gourmet dining or anything spectacular. But this place makes a decent sandwich much better than Panera bread. I grabbed the roast beef turkey panini . It was tasty. Service was a little slow but they only had one person working. I don't know about their claim of being the world's best sandwich stuff. They need to fix that

Earl of Sandwich is a sandwich shop chain based out of Orlando Florida. It was founded by the 11th Earl of Sandwich, a British nobleman, his son, and Robert Earl, the founder of Planet Hollywood. It was the fourth Earl of Sandwich who made the sandwich popular in 18th century Great Britain and Ireland. The first restaurant opened in 2004 in what is now Disney Springs. It was franchised and is now open across the United States.
This Earl of Sandwich is located at the Port St. Lucie/ Fort Pierce rest area on the back wall near the restrooms. I stopped in to grab a quick dinner to go. I picked the Italian sandwich. What I really like about Earl of Sandwich is that the sandwiches are served warm with melted cheese. There are several choices and they run around $7. In addition to the sandwiches they also have fruit, cookies, chips, and drinks. It is an economical, quick, and tasty way to grab food and get back on the road.Helpful 62Thanks 0Love this 56Oh no 0 - Siarhei Z.Sunny Isles Beach, FL383953062Apr 4, 2017First to Review
The Earl of Sandwich makes delicious sandwiches and it is worth the long lines. Will return again, Food brought out fast and sandwich was fresh. Good food, reasonable prices, decent speed of service. I would definitely recommend this place to others looking to have something to eat. P.S. Tuna melt is the best sandwich!

The location is convenient inside a rest stop and everything is clean, so that's always a huge help. The hospitality wasn't exactly the best as the cashier seemed a little rude, but that might have been a cultural problem (she had a thick accent and I feel like the attitude matched other service workers I've met before with a similar accent and look). Still, the service was prompt, the food came out quickly, and it tasted delicious! Even though I had to pick off the tomatoes that I had asked to not be on the sandwich. Overall, I feel like it was still the best option at the rest stop we were at, and the sandwich was still great

Didn't have items on menu, almost all out of stock and slow service. Didn't really care if I shopped there or not which is fine but I had to write more to make this valid.

I am huge Earl of Sandwich fan, which is the only reason I stood in line for 40+ minutes on a Saturday morning Memorial Day weekend to pick up a sandwich on my way down to the keys. This review has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the food but rather the poor service received. I understand the associates in this location are actually from a contracted company and not from Earl of Sandwich itself. However, basic menu knowledge is a requirement for you to work at a restaurant. The cashier that Saturday morning seemed to be completely clueless as to what was included in the breakfast combo. The associates in the line were extremely slow and the supervisor walked around only to answer the cashier's constant questions from lack of menu knowledge. She completely disregarded the amount of customers in line waiting to order. Instead she cooked her eggs and proceeded to hide in the back room to eat her breakfast. Earl of Sandwich should inspect this location as it is not operating to the standards I am sure they expect from their franchises.
