What a fantastic place. The music is loud (not overwhelming loud though), low lit and the restaurant is crowded with folks at the tables and bar area. I was greeted by the friendly host upon walking in and saw my friend seated in the far corner and went over.
We started off with cocktails - loved my Surfer Rosa. We got a dozen oysters that came at half a dozen each (Katama Bay and Sunken Meadow). We were also given 2 different extra ones (yay). The oysters were delicious and we ate them all! For my entree, I got the Butterflied Rainbow Trout while my friend got their Whole Black Sea Bass. I loved my trout. The skin was nice and crunchy and the meat was soft with a slight kick to it. Flavor was just all around superb!
The staff were all friendly and atmosphere is fun. Food was top notch - highly recommend checking this place out! - Gary M.MD, MD016/23/2022
Walked in with no reservations and they found seats at high top!
Oysters took a little while coming out but they were delicious
Ordered three drinks with my wife and they all were  great!
Got the hush puppies and they were great
Got the Codie bite and it was delicious
Ended off our night with smash burger and sea bass!
Pleasant bartenders  prompt service ! - 26793416119774/6/2022
We live less than 500 feet from Dylan's Oyster Cellar, so I couldn't be more glad that we LOVE it. Even if we didn't live a one-minute walk from their front door, I would love it (but I love it just a little extra because we do).
I've been to Dylan's at least four or five times now, and I've always had a great time, great food, and great drinks - every single time. Dylan's is so consistently wonderful.
First, the food. I love that Dylan's menu is constantly changing - with the seasons, seasonal product, seasonally available seafood, etc. - because I've been able to try such a range of dishes. I've had a variety of starters: roasted oysters, coddie (cod cake), fish pate with house-made potato chips and crostini, house-cured sardine on buttered baguette... I've had salads: beets and ricotta, a simple green salad, a Caesar salad... I've had several main courses they've offered: fish and chips; scarlet runner beans; monkfish with sunchokes and arugula; monkfish tail with butter, capers, and green salad; whole black sea bass with an herb/espelette chimichurri; mackerel over curry rice with an herb salad... And - of course - I've had oysters! They usually have 5-8 varieties to choose from, and they offer them by the half dozen. And dessert - that Basque cheesecake!!! I've never had a bad bite of food at Dylan's. More often than not, I've had one or more dishes where I thought: "oh wow!" or "how did they do that?" or "I'm never cooking seafood at home again since Dylan's is just down the street and they can do it 1000x better than I ever will!"
And then I've also had my fair share of drinks: wine, cocktails, beers. Dylan's has it all, and good options for each.
The service is excellent. The owners - Dylan and Irene Salmon - are in the restaurant all the time. You can tell the restaurant is a labor of love, and it couldn't be more local! And the restaurant just feels homey and comfortable. It feels like a great European bistro or a neighborhood pub. I always feel at home when I eat at Dylan's.
My only slight, tiny, insignificant qualm with Dylan's? They only take reservations over the phone, so you have to call when they're open to make a reservation (and they're only open for dinner five nights a week). It's a little more difficult to make a reservation here because they don't use any online system for reservations. And I do recommend reservations if you're trying to eat at Dylan's on a weekend night at a busy hour. We can almost always get in without a reservation since we eat a little early (we'll sometimes go around 5:30 just so we can get a table), but better safe than sorry if you're looking forward to a meal at Dylan's!
So - to summarize - I LOVE DYLAN'S. Great, fresh seafood and oysters. A creative menu that is always changing. Great drinks. Great service. And you feel like you're at home. Couldn't be happier to be able to walk down the street and have dinner at Dylan's anytime we want. They might see us once a week. I'm serious. - 6511778423/24/2022
We are huge fan's of Dylan's Oyster Cellar, to the point that I can confidently say it is one of my favorite places in Baltimore. The oysters and fish are always fresh and delicious and the other dishes are fun and surprisingly delicious. We've eaten here a number of times and are never disappointed!
Fish and chips - great!
Oysters - rotating selection, all good!
Coddie - Yum! Fried croquette
Cesar Salad - actually amazing!
Potato skins - skip
Cooked fish - rotating selection, all yum yum yum
This place is great! Do not miss. Dylan's a fun guy, too, if you get to meet him. - Jonlin C.Baltimore, MD47236834/1/2022
Loved!! We will be returning for sure.
Service: excellent, kind and gracious waiters and staff prepared with dining recommendations and jokes.
Food: Delicious! Options for oysters included getting a half dozen for around $20 or a Shuckers Dozen (chefs choice of three oyster varieties with four oysters each) for around $40. The special today was whole black seabass with salsa verde - amazing flavors. Plenty of non seafood options including salads, burgers, soups.
Ambience: a bit on the louder side, great if you prefer a vibrant dining experience. We arrived on a Thursday night and around 7 PM and we're seated immediately (2 ppl). No need to make a reservation on Thursday night but they do take reservations for busier times. - 22781578/8/2021
Dylan's Oyster cellar is a great spot if you love oysters!
Their selection is always fresh and sometimes there is even a fun twist! My favorite is by far their baked oysters.
While the the oysters are the star of the show ,it is definitely not everyone's thing. If you don't like oysters you may find the menu to be a bit limiting.
However the burger is a 100/10 for the non oyster fans! - 61025912496/8/2021
I have got to stop sleeping on places with Oyster in the name. In my defense I dont like Oysters at all so I take it as a sign that establishments with the name of the food I dont like isnt for me.
But Dylans was a great surprise. The oysters were good (I got that second hand from the boo because I wasnt having it) But everything else we ate was delicious as well.
The Samshburger tasted like what a big mac wishes it tasted like. The cod fish was well done, the soft shell crab sandwich was delicious and the trout was superb.
They had great drink options and really cute outside covered seating@
Dylan's Oyster Cellar isnt just for oysters guys you should definitely give them a try! - 322250212/7/2021
LOVE THIS PLACE.
if you're looking for amazing and fresh seafood in north Baltimore this is THE best spot. We love sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartenders and shuckers. They also have great drinks! - Kathy C.North Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA72168/2/2022
Best oysters I've had on the east coast, so far ;-) ! Â Great service, good food, great people, the food takes just a bit to come out but the wait is absolutely worth it.
If you're considering making reservations but they seem to be booked up, be sure to call! I was able to get a same day reservation for 2 just by calling to check in.
I'm definitely coming back here, I really miss those oysters now. - Emma N.New York, NY06656/18/2022
Really great atmosphere and delicious food. The oysters are great and the mackerel I got was perfect. A little bit on the expensive side but it's worth it if you want a delicious, fresh meal!
