Duffer's Bar & Grill

Good food, nice view and great service. Burger was very good, asked for medium rare, came out more medium but was good. Flatbread also good, thicker crust than I've had other places but good!

My husband and I love To go to Duffers. Food is almost always good and very reasonable.
We prefer to sit at the bar. Today the bartender watched as we sat down, no greeting, just busy talking with her co-worker. Got a greeting and a beer than looked at the menu. Caught eyes with her as she was still talking to her co-worker and said we are ready. She kept talking and I kept looking.....she finally says, "I'm sorry we work together tonight behind the bar and we are just strategizing". I guess that is more important than greeting customers upon arrival and taking their order when they are ready. Two other sets of people sat at the bar afterwards and both were delivered wrong items with their food orders. Customers FIRST needs to be remembered these days. Such a shame.

Went there last night and had a good meal..the problem is Flies. They were everywhere in the dinning area, can't imagine what was in the kitchen. The problem was that the bar is two sided serving both the restaurant and the outdoor seating area. Large service windows are fully open to the outside and hence the fly population.
I sat inside far away from the bar area and spent most of my time shooing flays away from my food.
Food was very good, but not worth the trouble it was defending my dinner! 4 stars for the food, 2 stars because of flies.

Hope they find a way to fight this problem, would very much like to return. I'm a year round resident and would like a restaurant that I could call my go-to!

I was here 8 years ago in the old location. I've been to the new location about three times. The wings are still killer and the beer choices are great! But the real difference is when Joes your bartender! This guy exemplifies Customer Service!
I asked for a beer not in tap and he went in the back and brought out a mini keg to serve me. He kept me up to date on food prep time and was always on the move to keep his customers happy. A lot of great locals hang here and are great sources for fabulous conversations

Great addition to the Shallotte area!! Great selection and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and low wait times for the most part of any at all. Good food and good service.

Service was better than average. Hot roast beef sandwich was not good. Loaded with (unnecessary) pepper, thick, fatty beef. Pepper all over the otherwise bland tasting steak fries. Reuben was decent, a little dry. Typical sports bar atmosphere.

Great menu, local food; not a chain! Great service and reasonable prices. Please don't change!

Second time eating her and the food has been acceptable both times. Today I sat at the bar and the dining room was very busy. There was no one at the bar when I sat down at about 12:40 and took about 10 minutes for her to show up. She had no idea who had been waiting or who had just arrived. So she started at the end and worked down the barn, with me at the other end. Finally brought my drink and vanished. After a few minutes I saw her behind me at a table with two young guys talking. After another 10 minutes she found her way to the bar and started talking with one of the customers who had their food. The person next to me got their food cold. She told me the kitchen messed up my order and blamed the kitchen for sending soup out with the meal .
I will probably go back but not at the bar.

Reluctantly, my sister and I chose Duffers for St. Patty's Day Dinner. I I had read some negative reviews since they moved.

Ignore the negative comments. Staff, busy but attentive. The corn beef and cabbage, tender and plentiful with carrots and new potatoes.

I will be back. Our wait staff. Angel was very good.

We enjoyed our lunch. I was excited to see chicken tenders tossed in parmesan garlic sauce! My husband and daughter both said their sandwiches were really good too. Service was slow but they did warn us when we came in to be seated. We also sat outside which I am sure did not help. They do have a bar that ooens to the patio. Overall we will go back for the tasty food!
