Without a doubt, the best Chinese take away in Ulster County. This isn't a place for eat in. Always fresh, always delicious. I tend to be disappointed by soups from other restaurants, never here. Their seafood soup is always five star, as is the hot and sour. The fried rices are never a let down, either. The mu shu pork is definitely a go to.
I'm really confused by the lackluster reviews by two people. Clearly they thought this was a sit down restaurant and took out their confusion on the food.

This was the place from which we got our pandemic Jewish Christmas take-away this year.  The food was great -- and wasn't super-greasy or cloyingly sweet, which are common mistakes made by Chinese restaurants catering to Americans ("put sugar in it, they want it to taste like Count Chocula!").  The only bummer was the moo-shoo turned out to not be vegan, and we're the vegan police.

Give it a try... This is the best Chinese take-out restaurant in Kingston! Good food, friendly staff, you won't be disappointed!

This is our go-to for Chinese take out.  We probably go at least once a week.  The food is solid and fresh.  The veggies are never overcooked.  They are willing to do special orders (example, I like my cold sesame noodles extra spicy, and they are always willing to do that for me or when I'm under the weather, I like their wonton soup with extra ginger and garlic, which they happily accommodate). Suffice to say, service is excellent.  Take out orders are usually ready within 10 minutes.
This area doesn't have much in the way of *really* good Chinese takeout, but Dragon Garden serves very well.

This place is not much to look at and I would never choose to go there for dinner but as a takeout joint (and it is just that, a joint) it is not bad at all. I ordered General Tso's chicken and brown rice and both were actually quite good. I would have been much happier if there had been more broccoli (which was crisp and green). Price was also good at less than $7 for lunch.

if anyone recommends this place, they should know.. and subsequently let you know that it is strictly for take out. tables were not even part of the decor some years ago.

that said.. their fried rices are great. the roast pork, which i gravitate to, has those familiar little chunks of red hued pork and a nice smattering of sprouts.

the boneless spare ribs are meatier than most, with little to no hard to chew boney bites that one might have gotten used to from (even) lesser establishments.

all said, if you like chinese take out, try this place with your 'go-to' order. they will probably not disappoint. while they are not up to the caliber of a true sit-down chinese restaurant (which let's be honest is like the needle and haystack yadda blah) - they do suffice in a pinch.

Great place for take out. Tasty food and good price. Wanton soup was great and had the most amount of wantons per container than I have ever had.

I like this place. It's pretty much a basic Chinese take out place. There are tables but they don't get many eat-in customers. The people are nice and friendly and it has been my regular place for Chinese take out. I used to frequent a nearby competitor that's better known but gave up on them when they were charged with selling fish out of the Hudson twice and having to carefully count my change every time. I've had none of those concerns here

We went on the recommendation of a friend. The place seemed a little dirty and the table was sticky.  We ordered the seafood soup, chicken with green beans and the Pu Pu platter. The latter was a huge mistake. We don't usually like fried food and it was very fried. Very heavy breading and the meat was tough.The seafood soup was really chicken/pork soup with a few shrimp. It was OK, but not seafood. The chicken with green beans was actually pretty good, certainly not the worst I've had. I guess they're mostly a take-out place, because they only had plastic forks and spoons and the plates were disposable. The soup bowls were takeout containers. The unclean appearance and Pu Pu platter made me give it one star. I will look elsewhere for Chinese food next time.

I usually have pretty good "restaurant radar" which I sadly ignored because a new acquaintance had fond memories of this place. I admit after living in the San Francisco Bay area for decades I am pretty spoiled with great Chinese food. But this was one of the worst meals of my life. My husband and I had great trepidations but are still searching for the great ethnic foods we used to enjoy. Everything screamed "get out of here asap" from the peeling paint on their sign, lack of any other customers, howling haunted wind sounds thru the doors, lack of heating, horrific fading art on the walls, sticky tables and chairs, and when the food was served with plastic cutlery and disposable to-go bowls for the soup, and NO plates, things began to go downhill. The food was pretty rank, the Poo Poo plater earned its name! The string beans were uncooked (fortunately the chicken with them was), and the seafood soup special had ONE! shrimp in it. Neither of us have gotten sick yet but I was seriously considering making my self throw this stuff up. Oh and yes they had a hard time understanding what we were ordering from their own menu. Double yuck.
