Dove Diner

Haven't been here in years. Glad I stopped in. If you've been here before, and thought the food and service was lousy, you should definitely stop in. The food and service are fabulous. Every plate on every table looked great. Place is clean, and parking is not a problem.

When we lived in Staten island 10 years ago the food was fabulous. Loved the pickles and coleslaw.

First walking in the man ask for my vaccinations card and I show it . As I'm sitting waiting to order I notice he didn't ask other people coming in. Then the service is very slow . Waiting to paid took forever, I had to get up and ask for it .
Can someone explain to me WHY  the Diner is under Golden Dove when the the Diner has everything under DOVE DINER!!!!!

My mom shat on this place because of how bad it is. But she's wrong, the food's delicious, and the 1950s' vibe is best. Would recommend anyone who are old souls, and ones who love big ass food, if you order a "side" of spaghetti, which is not a side at all. Overall, good restaurant with a 50s vibe, little bit of hidden 90s' Easter eggs, if you look at the music machine, you'll see a rap song in there.

This is not a pleasant diner experience. I could do WITHOUT bleach being mopped right next to use as we are eating our food.

So yes, I came in on December 10th with my family and friends to eat. I ordered a simple "Burger Deluxe" and my fiancé ordered a chicken panini. My burger tasted ok, but my fiancé has uncooked chicken on her plate. Like, a slab of chicken that was still pink and squishy. Unsure what the heck they were thinking, but we had to wait 30 minutes for the food to come back.

Finally, after waiting for our food, the genius manager had a great idea to start mopping the floor with BLEACH and PINESOL right next to us. Like, literally next to our feet. I had to literally stand up twice, look this busboy in his EYES and tell him please stop being weird and bleaching the floor next to us. It's an EMPTY diner, you literally can't do this anywhere else??

Overall, I'd rate this place 3 stars for "very, very, VERY average", but I'm only giving 1 star because I felt pretty harassed for no reason that we had to have the manager start cleaning the floors with cleaning products next to our feet and have a lingering smell for the next 20 minutes. We all had headaches leaving.

I take that as a hint from the owner of the diner that they do not want us back there, and I will happily oblige.

I love the food at this place. It's amazing. But im giving it 3 stars because the customer service I just experienced on the phone was terrible. The man gave me an attitude. I ordered the chicken deluxe sandwich with fries..but it was only 14 dollars and change..a little below the delivery charge..so I added a salad..bring the charge to 17 and change. I didn't get my fries..so I called. The man was irate and said I substitute my fries for a salad. I tried to explain to him that I added a salad and paid for it..he didn't want to listen to me and said..I will just send u the fries because I can't deal with this and hung up. I just made this place my go to order out place..guess I'm going to have to find another place now...

food is ok and service was fine but I AM SICK of hearing transphobia, homophobia, racism, and misogyny on the TV while i'm eating.. Keep your political views out the work place.. I'm surprised they even hire a small percentage of people of color..

Breakfast with a side of Fox News.  If you like propaganda with your bland breakfast, this is the place for you! Attentive wait staff.

Love this diner! Great food, great service, and great prices. My boyfriend and I absolutely love coming here and are finding ourselves eating here more and more often. I was first introduced to this diner by a local and loved it ever since. I love a great diner!
