Dosa Royale

Ordered takeout. It was wonderful. Butter Chicken and Cauliflower Lasuni were both excellent. Paratha bread was great. We also got the masala dosa and didn't know what to expected but it was good. Overall we are very full and very happy. Can't wait to go in person.

I want to preface this review with nothing but praise for the food - the dosa's are crispy and authentic and the Sambhar is really delicious.
However, we went to the outdoor restaurant on Sunday and we were appalled to see the server dressed like he's going to the gym - arm pits visible and no mask on. I know it's a violation and I could've called 311 but I like this place. I hope the owner is reading this because that was really despicable. I feel a bit worried that I put my family at risk my eating there. There were no gloves or masks and he just looked dirty. Sorry for the public review of this but you must know!!

Eh... so highly recommended, but such a bad delivery experience. Some of it could be chalked up to delivery, but most of it was due to just old, tired, ill-prepared food.

Very overrated...

Dosa Royals was alright. Their dosa was REALLY good.
Everything else was just ok. We split the chicken curry and fried cauliflower. It was fine, but nothing to write home about.

This place is awesome! I will say that the selections can be hit or miss, but the hits are AMAZING. Ok so we finally figured out our go-to order. we always get Chicken 65 (sweet and spicy chicken mmm), couple orders of cauliflower Lasuni, poori bhaji, and then a random order of an entree.

This place is IT. Incredibly crisp dosas, addictive rice (tamarind and coconut are too good), and good hearty curries (lamb is my favorite). Service is polite and hands-off.

The only thing I would note is that the paneer in their spinach & paneer dosa is shredded, which I did not expect. Was a little sad because I love the texture of paneer cubes.

I had their food at Smorgasburg and it was really good. I expected the portions to be pretty small, but they were actually a decent size. The mango Lassi was so delicious and had the right level of sweetness, unlike some other places that are often way too sweet for my taste.

The ambiance at this place is truly charming with the lighting and contrasting colours. The menu is small with items from a few categories and I suggest you pick the South Indian breakfast cuisines.

A fitting restaurant for a casual dine!

I go here here for the dosas about once a month, but haven't tried the curries. The rava dosa in particular is recommended. My wife finds the masala dosa to be very good. The chutneys and sambar that accompany the dosas are really good, especially the tomato chutney.

It's cash only which can be a bit inconvenient at times.

Dosa Royale is the place to be for dosa lovers! I've ordered it a few times through Seamless and been impressed with the fluffiness and quality of the bread/pastry, but wasn't blown away until I ate a fresh Dosa at the restaurant.

I walked by and went in for lunch and had the masala (my favorite) in the restaurant and was able to enjoy the warm fluffiness of the dosa that I wasn't getting during delivery. I've also tried the sweet potato masala, veggie samosas (delicious) and the onion rava (also delicious).

The dipping sauces are really great, my favorite is a ginger one that comes with the onion rava but I like all of them. The masala is my favorite dosa but I plan to try all of them at some point. The service is great as well!

I have been waiting for a good South Indian place to open in Brooklyn and my prayers were answered when Dosa Royale opened it's doors.

Top notch Indian Restaurant. I have been both in person and ordered from the restaurant through Caviar.

The samosas are delicious. They are not the standard you can get from other Indian restaurants.  These samosas, especially the coconut samosa are an ode to south indian flavors.

The uttapam is nice and spicy- perfect for brunch on a cold morning.

The dosas at this restaurant are the star of the show. All of them are delicious but my favorite is the masal dosa. Perfect crapes filled with spices and potatoes to brighten your morning.

Overall an amazing addition to Brooklyn.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and it sure didn't disappoint! I live within walking distance, and I always walk by this place on my way to the grocery store or the gym. I grew up around a lot of Indian food and culture, so I've always been picky about my Indian food (you'd be surprised what they pass as "Indian food" in some places). So the day finally came when I decided to try Dosa Royale, and of course I had to get a dosa. My friend and I actually got a couple different kinds and split them. They were huge and delicious! Just like the dosa I'm familiar with from when I was growing up! They were so light and crispy with a lot of fresh Indian spices. They are served with a variety of flavorful dipping sauces. They were all so good I couldn't decide which one was my favorite! By the end of the meal I wished I had had more dosa to dip and finish the sauces! But I left full and satisfied. The place is cash only so make sure you bring $20 or so. I will definitely be coming back here!

Chennai fish curry- pretty good. Mildly spiced, but still flavorful and the fish was cooked perfectly.

Dosa- Hard pass. Bland chutney. Bland sambar. The extra I paid for green chilies amounted to less than 5 tiny pieces- all in the corner of the dosa.

Rava masala dosa with Mysore spice was delicious, along with all the chutneys. Will definitely be back for more!

Extremely good vegetarian Indian for the neighborhood. Slightly on the expensive side but it's still really quite good!

Ordered from here and it was just amazing. Loved especially the uttapam with potatoes, and the Vendakai Poriyal (okra) and Chickpea Sundal. I'm not a vegetarian but I could subsist on nothing but their vegan/veg offerings with pleasure.

I placed a large order but when I received an email saying it had arrived, there was no delivery and no apology though my $was eventually refunded.
I ordered early to avoid problems so know that doing so does not help.

2pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was pretty quiet.  Staff was friendly, not pushy.

We ordered the sweet potato dosa and the paneer kabob.  Both have were very tasty with detailed flavors that popped in the mouth.  So good!

You must visit!

They had a booth Smorgasburg in Prospect Park and saw there was no one in line. This should have tipped me off but I decided to give it a shot and ordered a masala dosa (curried potato) because it had been a while since I've tried one.  The dosa was just average and it did not have much filling for a $10 item. I know dosas are not supposed to be stuffed like a burrito but the amount of food was meager. I'd skip this place and go elsewhere.

I love this place! So many gluten free options. The curries and dosas are delicious! As is the cauliflower.
