Dog Haus is a great place to eat in Decatur. I had the "Cowboy" and a side of tots with cheese when during my visit. The dogs (along with all of their food) is served on Kings Hawaiian rolls which made for a unique taste.

I didn't mind the atmosphere, which seems to be a problem for some of the patrons. You might have to share a table with other guests, like I did during my visit, but they are long enough for a sense of privacy.

The food was priced fairly in my opinion. It is in the same price range as Jimmy Johns, about $10 a person if you get a side with drink.

Cool place - clean and modern with TVs if you want them or space without if you don't. It was warm.....major plus for me.

Extensive beer choices - I don't drink though so no review there. Pic attached of "beer wall".

Menu had different hot dogs, sausages and hamburgers. Also chicken and a few plant-based choices. Everything was unique - check out the menu. Of course you can build your own if you want.

Went with the Little Mule - burger with American cheese, avocado, pickled jalapeños, cotija cheese, a fried egg and chipotle aioli. Got the egg over hard to avoid a giant mess (thanks to the bartenders recommendation). Sweet potato fries on the side. The burger is served inside of four Hawaiian rolls ......easy and fun to cut them into four little sliders. So so delicious!!!! Just the right flavor combo, the meat was tender and juicy and the sweet potato fries cooked just right (a little bit of crispy on the edges). Loved it - will be back!!

Not sure why people are being so hard on this place. I'm from Chicago and this place is easily on par with some really amazing restaurants in my area. So the owners should be proud.

Sure the place wasn't immaculate but it's a busy place where people come to eat and socialize. But it was by no means "dirty".

The food was amazing. I loved the variety of hotdogs and sausages. I had the Scott Baioli and sausage corn dog (with kielbasa). Both were delicious. They also had some really tasty sweet potato fries.

They also had a bar which included a huge selection of beers and wines.

I would recommend coming ahead of time since the place seems very popular and you may be waiting in line for 15 minutes or so till you can order.

Once I ordered my food I didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. That was impressive as well. The staff were friendly and focused.

I also really like they have a patio with a sliding window door that goes up when it's warmer out. Seems like a nice place to enjoy some wine and good hotdog on a summer afternoon.

Overall a must-visit location if you are in the area. I'm very surprised to find such a nice place out here.

Service was OK, I had to get up and go to the bar to order because the set up in the restaurant is really wonky. There is a person that works the bar area and a person who works where you order. However, where you order it faces opposite of the bar towards The street versus when you walk into the restaurant. I have to say that for what you get it is not worth the money. Six dollars for a corndog is overpriced and it was overcooked to the point where the hotdog was tough (not sure how you mess that up. Son had the hangover which looked great but was just eh. It was on 4 slider buns which fell apart and he ended up using a fork to eat it. The beer was good and cold and probably is one of the few things appropriately priced on the menu.

Nice concept but weird it was almost empty at Noon. Pricey for a basic cheese burger, tots and drink--almost $14. They have a ton of beers on tap and a large bar area. Just think the prices are well, pricey. Bun was cold. And it doesn't work well. It's a Hawaiian sweet bun divided in a four section bun. Just think it's a stupid bun for a burger. I ended up cutting my burger in quarters too avoid a huge mess. Didn't work. Too much lettuce. And the sauce was a little spicey. Burger was nothing extra. Tots tasted a little freezer burned.

Way overpriced for what you get. The food is okay but not worth the cost. Thanks, but no thanks. I will spend my money elsewhere.

The seating arrangements were tolerable but not really my thing to sit at a dirty picnic table with strangers. Just an all-around weird experience.

My fiancé did enjoy his beer but that hardly makes this place worth the time & money.

Husband and daughter loved the flavors and cleaned their plates. The staff was friendly and helpful.

      Gluten Free:
I check the website for a GF menu before coming and their 100% claim was enticing. There didn't seem to be any gluten-free options when we were looking at the menu boatd. The staff tried to be helpful when asked if there were any fillers in the meats or what they would recommend for gf...sadly "don't eat the buns" was the answer. I don't take that kind of risk with my food allergies, so I didn't eat anything.

I hate to be harsh to a new place, but if you can mess up a hot dog, not a good sign. I had the Scott Baioli for 5.99. first of all, the setup is strange inside. There's nothing to guide you as to whether you sit down or order first at the register but I went straight to register since I wanted it to go. Lady wasn't too helpful about a suggestion, no lids for fountain drinks, and brought out my order for here tho the girl quickly fixed it. I also got 3.99 cheese fries. So, hot dog was, well, gross. I ate half. The bacon was the worst part followed by the aioli. Just tasted like a dry bun, old dog, old bacon, and a gross green sauce. Maybe a simpler dog would've been better. U Dogs is far superior. My fries were soggy, nothing special. It was all generic, subpar food on this visit and a little too pricey for the quality.

Not very appetizing to look at or eat, unfortunately. Scott Baioli and cheese fries to go....

I want for the first time on a Monday night. It was dead inside. I really liked the industrial, iron and wood decour. I ordered 2 sausages, some onion rings, a bottled and a cookie. The food came out quick, was hot and really good. I had the Thai fighter and the Fonz. Both sausages were fresh and excellent. You can tell they were of high quality (I make my own sausages). The grilled Kings Hawaiian rolls stand up very well as hot dog buns (I was skeptical) I'll likely copy this at home. The onion rings and cookie were very good as well. I will have to a agree a little with others that they are a bit pricey, especially for Decatur. I understand that it's not cheap to make high quality sausages, but still. I didn't order any Brew, but the beer prices are a bit high for Decatur at $6 to $7 a pint. All in all, everything was great and I'd make a return trip.

      Thai fighter and the Fonz.
A little pricey, but the food was excellent!

Went with a friend to check this place out. It definitely is something different for the area. I had the Chili Idol while my friend had the Bad Mutha Clucka. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but it could've been better. My friend said her sandwich was good, but the oil puddle it left on her tray showed just how greasy it was. My hot dog was good, but the onions overpowered it a little. Maybe had they been cut smaller, or better yet been sweet onions, it would've have made the difference. I still would like to go back to try other menu items, but I think I'll wait awhile.
