We've been working with Mike at Discount Dave's since early 2015 when we began house shopping. He has always been knowledgable and done his best to answer questions or even find answers when he didn't have one.
Once we purchased our first home, we picked out some tile that has managed to be a nice addition. After all, the house was stuck in the '90s....(oh and we installed it ourselves)
We wanted to go with DD for our entire floor remodel but, unfortunately, the laminate selection isn't the greatest and it's all thinner (7mm or less...we wanted 12mm).
We recently got to experience DD's installation for our carpet and that, too, was an excellent experience. Mike came to our home, did measurements, quoted us right then and there and stuck to it. On the day of install, the guys showed up roughly 15 minutes late which wasn't a big deal for us and they got right down to it. We moved our furniture and removed the old carpet/padding ourselves to save some cash. Ultimately, the installers took roughly 2 hours to do 3 bedrooms at about 520 square feet. The carpet we chose was a stain resistant carpet at 50-60oz (SUPER SOFT AND THICK!!!!) with an upgraded spill-proof pad. At $3.15 for carpet, pad, installation and a killer warranty, we have been extremely satisfied.
The only downside to our carpet experience was that the installers made no effort to clean up their mess or vacuum the carpet once installed - it would have been since to see a beautiful, clean finished project rather than all the fibers covering the floor.
We definitely recommend DD's to anyone wanting a product comparable to Lowe's or HD but not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rebecca K.Springfield, MO6573628Feb 24, 2023
We love Discount Dave's prices of carpet and plank flooring. You better visit them. We recommend them! They also have installers. Thank you!

I contacted discount Dave's about doing a couple jobs for me, one of them I wanted done within a couple of months. The other one was going to wait for a little while! After about two months, I called up to talk to Josiah to get the job set up. They told me he was at a church retreat and would be back the following week and he would give me a call. I never received a call back from Josiah, so I attempted to call him and we talked about getting the flooring done in my house. I never received a call back from him again on what the quote was going to be, and had to reach out to him again three weeks later. We finally got something set up for them to come out and do my flooring. I told them I would be available Friday and Saturday, they also told me that the guy would be there between 8 and 9 AM Friday morning, he didn't show up until 10:30 AM. After he ripped up my carpet, he left for about two hours because he had to get something to level part of the floor so he could put the floating floor down, that part was understandable however, they wanted to charge me an additional $350 to do this. We negotiated a price and it was taken care of immediately, the guy come back to do the work, and then proceeded to tell us that he had to leave by 7 PM because he was a seventh day Adventist and doesn't work after sundown on Friday night and can't come back and finish the job until Sunday. He came back Sunday and finish the job except they didn't order enough of the transition piece to go between my family room and my kitchen, so they had to order that in, 3 1/2 weeks later, they were scheduled to come out and do the transition piece. I was told they would be there between 8 and 9 AM, I work late in the evening and don't get to bed till about 1 AM so for me to be up at 8 AM was really early but that's the time they told me he would be there, so I made sure I was up, 930 rolls around and I called them and ask them where he's at, they told me he was at a different job and would be there after lunch, I find this totally unacceptable, obviously their scheduling system has some flaws. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because the kid that did the job was great, other than the fact that he couldn't work on Saturday, but I can't hold him against his religion.

How does a business like Discount Dave's even stay in business? We had so many problems dealing with this company and we will not use them for anything in the future. The owner has zero customer skills. The employees were nice & accommodating, the problem was with the owner and he doesn't care. You can't work with someone that thinks they are always right. Stay away from this company!

Matt greeted us as soon as we entered the store and was extremely helpful.
There was a wide variety of tile, wood/laminate flooring and carpet. The prices were good and staff was upfront about installation cost. They stated less than one month for installation and less than a week for free estimate.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matthew P.Clever, MO374Aug 22, 2016
Discount Dave's was a great experience until they started to install it. It was originally scheduled for a 2 day install and at the last minute they called and pushed it to just Friday. They were in such a hurry to get the carpet done they did not cut the carpet right and an area was left un-carpeted. To add to this the installers left with out telling anyone about the issue. So after calling they said there was nothing they could do until Monday. When they finally called on Monday they wanted us to pay for more carpet (somewhat understandable) and then wanted us to pay another installation fee for them to go out there again. I called and talked to the manager and he was not help. Their customer service is only good as you buying the carpet, once you hand them the money they stop caring at all.

I went into Discount Daves in Ozark on July 16 to pick out a carpet and found one with salesman John, told him I was in to just pick it out, 720 square feet and husband would be in on July 17 to pay for it. The carpet had a sale ticket on it in bold red numbers on sale for $1 a foot. He cut me a sample off and wrote all the neccassery information on my sale ticket. July 17 husband goes in to pay for carpet and pad and pick it up and right in front of my husband they pull the sale ticket off and say this is marked wrong. Very poor business, I call this a bait and switch. This is not the first time they have upped the price on a product we have picked out, buyers be warned, they do not stand by there prices marked. Scammers, poor business tactics. Doubt we will ever walk in there doors again as it's a waste of time and hate being defrauded

At first the experience was good. The sales agent Andy seemed knowledgeable or at least good at what he does. Set the estimate up.. This is when stuff starts getting poor. Red was late to our appointment because no one told him. I forgave that because scheduling errors can be easily made. It was later that Red had our paper work with estimates for the house. I called at least 5 times to have a return call from him and it was never returned. The crew showed up without the installer today, without a complete picture of the situation. Its a concrete floor and there needed to be strips put down. They showed with no knowledge of that and hey didn't have all the carpet needed to complete the job for us so now. I have now carpet in my living room. My best advice is not to use them pay the $150 and use Lowe's or Home Depot. Poor service to resolve the issue so far and everyone keeps passing the buck.
