Alright Dio Mio. Here's the 5 stars you deserve! This is one of my most recommended spots in RiNo, especially if my friends and I are trying to brainstorm last minute plans for dinner. I've lost count how many times I've been here. Even though I keep ordering the same items, I'm constantly impressed by the quality of food, beverage, and customer service.
My top dish is the Radiatori (second is the Cacio e Pepe) though I'll deviate every once in awhile to get a seasonal special. Friends often gravitate towards adding on appetizers like Broccoli and Artichokes, both of which are artfully crafted in terms of flavors and textures. Paired with wines or cocktails, it's quite the romantic venue!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Apr 17, 2022Previous review4.5 stars. Yummy!!! Dio Mio has been on my list of bookmarked restaurants for awhile. Finally came here on a date and somehow got seated immediately. The place was packed, even on a weeknight. Understandably popular! My date took my ID and ordered a carafe of house red wine for us from the bar... then forgot to give my ID back. Whoops.
We ordered the artichoke appetizer, which we weren't fans of. The mix of artichokes, orange, croutons, and olive sauce wasn't appealing, but it sounded unique and I'm glad we tried something new. For pasta, I got the Radiatori (pesto, mozzarella, furikake) which is making my mouth water as I write this. Highly recommend. Super fresh (hand-made!!!) and flavorful.
Definitely want to come back and try all the other pasta dishes! Less interested in the appetizers. Good selection of wine. Service was great but very low-touch. Kind of a strange mix of sit-down restaurant and casual food hall dining where you order at the front counter. Anyways, get here early for a table (not the best for groups) and enjoy! - Hannah K.Lakewood, CO01Dec 9, 2023
Food was amazing loved every single bite, however I went to the bar to grab two straws for me and my friend, except when I went back to my table I was followed by our waiter who proceeded to reprimand and scold me for a good
Five minutes talking about how any other place would have kicked me
Out for taking straws directly from the bar and most bartenders find it extremely disrespectful and I'm
Lucky to still be able to dine there LMAO if you want good food with a touch of toxic/sassy masculinity,
This is your place. The guy was skinny with tattoos and long brown hair with a beanie but I realize that's what every bartender in Denver looks like so do with that what you will.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brendan S.Wading River, NY7121166Apr 23, 2024
My wife and I went here while on vacation in Denver. The food was awesome. We didn't have a reservation, and we were lucky that there was a few people leaving when we got there. I would recommend making a reservation

Fantastic service and very accommodating for gluten free allergies. It is an order at the counter style, so tables fill up quickly and there can be a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. I will say that they love their spice, so if you're sensitive to slickness, be careful ordering the chicken parm and the rigatoni. Both are solid, but definitely have a higher heat level. Starter wise, the cabbage and chips and prosciutto are good, as is the radiatori. Will definitely be back!

We came here on a Thursday night and we were able to get a seat right away. It's a different concept. Your table doesn't have a waiter, but it does? They explained that you view the menu from the QR code, and you go up to the front to actually order your items like a fast food counter. And they bring out your food and your drinks. But they still have a person attending to your table so I still ended up giving a normal gratuity. The food was really good. My friend, and I shared a Tuna Crudo, and a rigatoni. The service was good because I drink a lot of water and they kept refilling my water. The only thing that wasn't that great was how they delivered the wine. They delivered it in small glasses versus a normal wine glass, not sure why this was chosen but it does affect the flavor because you can't smell the wine as well before drinking. Prices were decent.

I like the order at the counter! I didn't order pasta here but got the Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, and porchetta. They were pretty quick with food for it being dinner time (7pm). The Caesar salad tastes like straight anchovies - do not order this unless you're into fish sauce. I like it so it was great but the fishiness definitely took me by surprise.
The Brussels sprouts were AMAZING. They were perfectly cooked, and I loved the pickled onions that came out on top. Honestly this was one of the best Brussels sprouts I've had at any restaurant. I also got the porchetta which was fun but it's pretty much pork and cilantro if you ask me. The service is quick and I like the large tables outside. Half off some bottles on Wednesday if that's your thing. My friend had ordered the rigatoni and I thought it was a bit tough so I'm not too into the pasta. Idk I know they hand pull their pasta here but I've heard it taste like fancy Kraft Mac and cheese lol. I'd try it! But wouldn't come backHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jul 7, 2023
4.5 stars. Food was delish!
We shared the Cacio e Pepe and Rigatoni. The Cacio e Pepe was to die for, light and creamy- was definitely our favorite of the two. The Rigatoni was perfectly spicy, enjoyable but not overwhelming. They brought out some of their house focaccia as well which was deliciously salted. The cocktail was just okay, lacking in some of the flavor profiles listed.
Staff was sweet! Definitely an interesting take on what feels like should be a nicer Italian restaurant with their homemade pasta. Order at the counter and then take a seat, definitely odd if wanting a refill on a drink but we enjoyed the outdoor seats. Food wait time is similar to that of a restaurant you'd have a waiter at so threw me off a little too but well worth it. Patio was much calmer than inside, which was comparably loud and again, just didn't feel like it meshed well with the "niceness" of the cuisine. Feels like an identity crisis worth addressing.
Overall, enjoyed the food and of course the company of my partner! Will be back :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sayani D.Northeast, Denver, CO16952Mar 8, 2024
3.5 - Long time fans & have always loved getting delivery. Recently got a chicken parm that was raw in the middle (see pic). It was such a bummer for a $40 plate. Emailed the restaurant to let them know Didn't hear back unfortunately but thought to post so this doesn't happen to others.

If you are hipster this is your nirvana in Denver. Vibrant feel, part dive, part fun. You order pasta at the counter and then it is brought out to you. My Pepe was not anything to ogle over so I did not quite experienced the hipster high of this place. It has not entirely warm either after waiting a while. There is outside seating which is quite nice on a warm Denver day. Staff were very enthusiastic.
