There's just so much goodness to be found in soup dumplings! This is a unpretentious location with kick ass dumplings. I'd hazard a guess that I've dined here fifteen times over a ten year span. I've not been disappointed during any visit. If you need a English menu, just ask for it.
The line can be long, be patient or go early for lunch.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 31, 2016
It was towards the end of my trip, and I really needed something else. I figured DTF would be solid, and it didn't disappoint. The pork and the pork and crab dumplings were good, as usual, and the flavor somehow seems better than the southern California branch.
Wait, what?! Other flavors? Pork and sea urchin?! Pork and crab liver?! Where did these come from? MUST TRY. The pork and uni was interesting, but I don't think they worked all that well together. I loved pork and kani miso because I love the fishy flavor of crab guts, but as you can imagine, they're not for everyone. The dumplings come in much smaller sets, but I was happy for the opportunity to try so many different flavors.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Van H.Cambridge, MA0201Mar 19, 2017
Superb as usual, many great choices. Enjoyed the shrimp fried rice & dumplings as a lunch combo . Menu is full of pictures and in English.
The whole shiodome area is a little challenging to navigate due to its multi tiered approach. I found walking outside from the train station to the Caretta building easiest. It's on level B2 of the Caretta building. with all the other restaurants.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Josh K.Sacramento, CA4449Sep 21, 2017
It's not the same for the American Palette in Bellevue. I came in expecting it to be like Din Tai Fung in Seattle, but it wasn't. My complaint about Bellevue is that there is too much pork and not enough chicken, but this is 99% pork here, other than the Karage. That being said, it was cool seeing the difference between the US branches and the Tokyo branch, but I much prefer the US branch for my palette. Nothing actually wrong with the food, and the Karage was tasty, but that's all I could order! They didn't have the awesome chili paste there either that I get at home.

Horrible place, don't come to this place! I didn't finish my food and wanted to take it out, but guess what? They said I could not take out any food even though I already paid for it! This is not a buffet; since I paid for it, everything I ordered of course is MINE. How could they prohibit me from taking out MY belongs? Ridiculous! F word for this restaurant!

Din Thai Fung is always great. This meal was a great break from Japanese food on our last trip. Soup dumplings are to die for, and the beef noodle soup was excellent. Service was top notch.

Great easy place. Food super yummy. We've been to the one at south coast plaza in California and waited forever. This one... no wait. :)

I absolutely love Din Tai Fung. I've been to three in three countries and they all are awesome. This one is a little small but the food and service are still amazing. The price is also very reasonable especially considering how good the quality of the food is.

i am a huge fan of DTF, but this was not as good as the ones that i have been in in other countries. but they still make those awesome little Taiwanese dumplings the same way. the menus differs from what i have seen in other places but still pretty darn good
