Hi Barb,

Din Tai Fung is a dim sum paradise where every dish served is a small packet of perfection. Renowned for its precise and exquisite dumplings, this place never fails to impress. The shrimp shumai and soup dumplings stand out as true culinary masterpieces, each bite bursting with flavor. The shrimp is succulent and fresh, perfectly paired with delicately seasoned wrappers that are steamed to just the right texture.
The soup dumplings are a marvel of the menu--skillfully crafted so that each dumpling is a tender pouch filled with rich, savory broth that explodes with taste upon the first bite. It's an experience that blends taste and technique beautifully.
The ambiance of Din Tai Fung adds to its allure. The setting is modern and sleek, with a buzzing atmosphere that's energetic yet comfortable. Service here is as polished as the stainless steel steamers the dumplings arrive in. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and quick to offer recommendations, making every dining experience smooth and enjoyable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Everything was perfect even the wait time was about 5-10 minutes on Monday at 4:00pm. We were surprised that they moved to the new location I didn't know. The new place is on the first floor of the same building. It's huge and nice big waiting area, no more scrambling around the entrance or waiting on the hallway.
I've been going to dough zone and supreme just because the prices are lower. But I realized that DTF food are always solid and consistent. The service is gNo doubt. It's worth it.
When you want the good XLP, it's din tai fung.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 15, 2022Previous reviewThey've updated the menu and price again. It's more expensive but they now use kurobuta pork, which tastes a lot better than before. I think this update is a good one!
We ordered our usual, xiaolong bao x3, shrimp fried rice and green beans, and vegetable and pork steamed buns.
We had a jar of chili oil on our table that tasted really good too, I asked some extra in my leftover bag.
One thing we always wish is to have fried rice served along with xiaolong bao please.
The quality is great! The wait time at 5:30 pm on Monday was 30 minutes. Not bad at all. I notice on their website they now take reservations ahead? I wasn't able to do we walked in but we will definitely try making reservation next time.Jan 7, 2019Previous reviewThis is the first review but my usual joint in Bellevue. My Asian friends and I love this place, been coming every once in a while since they opened several years ago.
This Taiwanese restaurant who's specialty is xiaolongbao or small steamed soup dumplings is known as one of the top xiaolongbao restaurants in the world along with Joe's and Nansho. Their fried rice tastes exactly like the ones in Japan, sooo tasty!
My friends and I tried all their area restaurants and think Bellevue restaurant offers the best quality. My guess is because Bellevue location is the first dingtaifong they opened in WA, and I remember chefs and waitresses from Taiwan were there for the opening and training local employees for a few months so after.
They have raised the prices since and added more dishes in the menu. So overall is 4 stars. - Tommy Y.Rockville, MD365152Mar 26, 2024
When I traveled to Seattle, WA, you already know I had to try Din Tai Fung for their renown soup dumplings & Chinese cuisine. We don't have one in DC yet unfortunately!
For the food we got a plethora of dishes, some with meat, some with seafood/vegetarian to cater to our pescatarian friend:
The Shrimp Fried Rice and the Vegetable Fried Noodles were nice, the ingredients definitely tasted like quality fresh ingredients. The flavors were a little light on the seasoning though, could have had a bit more saltiness but overall still some nice savory dishes!
The String Beans and Broccoli dishes, despite being just veggies, stood out on their own! Super savory and well seasoned with the garlic, cooked perfectly with a nice crisp texture on the outside while being tender on the inside, our table really loved these sides for sure.
Now for their famous dumplings, the Pork Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings had their signature beautiful pleats on the wrapper, presentation on all the dumpling dishes were fantastic. The soup dumplings were savory, tender, and delicious, and the vegan spicy wontons were also really tasty as well, nice spice with the chili oil sauce and vegetable fillings! The cod dumplings were just alright in my opinion, but still the presentation and texture of the dumpling wrapper still amazes me!
The service was great, they put our table on the waitlist and promptly seated us when we were ready to be called. The server was super friendly, and gave us some good recommendations for pescatarian dishes for our party member, as well as some beer/drink recommendations! Can't wait for another Din Tai Fung experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I will go to this place again and again. I can't resist the absolutely delicious spicy wontons. The Shanghai rice cakes are also a huge hit. I like them with chicken because it melts in your mouth however, they cook it.
I also really enjoy the shrimp fried rice, pot stickers, cucumber starter, and so many other things. You really can't go wrong.
The cocktails are also very good. I think the lighting is a little bit too bright. Service is always good and fast. Of course you often have to wait but that's just has so many people like it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

A fun, modern take on traditional dim sum. Go with a group to try all the things but be prepared to wait. Get there at opening for the best shot on a reduced wait time.
Soup dumpling are a specialty here. Also enjoyed their shu mai and won tons. If you're a dessert fan, the chocolate buns were recommended and didn't disappoint!
Service was friendly, efficient and thoughtful. I liked the way Jason spaced out our order and explained everything so well. We were a party of 7, and he was very attentive, efficient and personable. 5 stars for Jason!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Couldn't resist sharing our love for Din Tai Fung - a family favorite where everyone happily agrees to dine. Expect a wait, especially on weekends.
Our go-to picks remain stellar - chicken dumplings, vegan buns, spicy wontons, chocolate and mochi xiao, and sesame bun. Tried the chicken noodle soup but might skip it next time - noodles with sesame/spicy sauce steal the show. Absolute, absolute favorites? Spicy wontons and sesame bun. Just thinking about them makes me drool.
If you haven't been to Din Tai Fung, why wait any longer?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Nithya,
We extend our sincere gratitude for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback. It brings us great joy to know that your dining experience with us was enjoyable.
We hope to welcome you back soon! - Apr 20, 2024
Ate here on their last day at their previous location while in town for a convention. I didn't notice the decorations as I came on a mobility scooter which they had difficulty handling. Hopefully that works better in the new location. In our group of 4, two were carnivores and two were vegetarian, so it was nice to have someone to share with. We carnivores ate the shrimp and pork dumplings, which were very good, with a mix of protein that I hadn't experienced before. We also had the chicken fried noodles, which was delicious. We also had the spinach with garlic to share with the table. The vegetarians seemed pleased with their food as well, but I don't remember the specifics.

Din tai Fung -I am soy into you !
To me this was an exceptional dining experience that combined exquisite culinary craftsmanship with a welcoming atmosphere. I had waited so long to try them and finally did in Seattle and I cant believe what i was missing out on . Renowned for its meticulously prepared Xiao Long Bao, each dumpling bursts with savory goodness, delighting the palate with every bite. Between the four of us we tried a lot of different varieties and loved almost everything. Beyond its signature dish, the menu offers a diverse selection of traditional Taiwanese cuisine and the Cucumber salad and Green beans are a show stealer. Also ,if the thought of Chocolate dumplings makes your hair stand up ,just ignore the intuition and order them ..especially with the sea salt dip . You wont regret it, I promise .
The cocktails were average however the food more than makes up for it . Staff is very helpful and the service is pretty fast .Helpful 11Thanks 3Love this 10Oh no 0Business owner information
