It's a community-oriented environment with equipment and old school vibes that you won't find at the corporate gyms. The gym is always clean, and I don't have to worry about people resting on equipment while on a phone. It's a gym for beginners and bodybuilders alike.

Diego's Power Alley Gym has a specific vibe and culture, it's for the person who's serious about getting a body transformation. I came into the gym knowing a few lifting routines but the personal trainer (Diego) corrected my form and taught me many things I had never tired. For me the transformation has been five star. Yea, the gym isn't in a five star area but whatever. I hit the workout hard then relax in the sauna. The gym is very clean and isn't packed with stinky people who don't know what they're doing like all the other corporate gyms in the area.

Absolutely bonkers rude behavior on the phone. Won't do day passes. Won't give monthly pricing over the phone. The lady on the phone said that they were "a hardcore bodybuilding gym" so I "have to know how to lift" and if I want to come in and look at their pamphlet then I can see the pricing but she just doesn't have the staff or time to go through "all the pricing".
How complicated could it possibly be? Gee, if only they had a functioning website with the pricing listed. But they can't even manage that.
I'm a competitive bodybuilder looking for a hardcore gym. I'm literally their target customer and the interaction was so rude. I'd never step foot in a gym like this. They must be so successful that they don't need any more money.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Billy R.Rohnert Park, CA87145Apr 5, 2022
Ive made many concessions in order to choose this gym. Ive overlooked the inconvenient operation schedule, the redundant equipment hogging floor space and much of it in various states of disrepair. I've overlooked the shitty parking situation. I've overlooked it being in a neighborhood where people routinely get shot and robbed. Ive overlooked there being one dirty water fountain that barely spit out lukewarm water. The list goes on.
But my membership ended today after Diego openly criticized my squat form to generate value for himself and his personal training services to another member. This revealed two things, the first being how little he truly understands about the human body and sport science. And secondly, that he's sorely lacking in tact and self-awareness.
I suppose the part that pissed me off the most was that my squat form is being criticized by a guy whose legs in their best form wouldn't have even won a regional title.
Get bent and go broke. I'll go elsewhere.Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 1 - Ronald C.CA, CA01126Nov 3, 2021
I've been here for the past 5 years training with Diego and it has been a life changing experience. Diego's training has not only changed my body but it has also changed my diet, work habits, discipline and lifestyle. There's lots of equipment that other gyms don't have with real iron weights. The other members are all professional adults who are looking to advance and improve their overall fitness which creates a great environment. This gym is truly a hidden gem and the best gym in the Bay Area by far.

Diego Chairs was my personal trainer for years. I have always found him to be very professional and knowledgeable about the body. He is well informed about nutrition and diet. If you are serious about achieving lifetime fitness Diego's is the gym to train! Diego's has attracted females who are interested in finding men and very few were interested in actually training. I have never seen Diego being inappropriate with any client, as a matter of fact he doesn't tolerate disrespectful or rude language by any person on the premises.
Diego will motivate you and he doesn't use steroids or advocate putting anything unhealthy or any inorganic substance in your mouth. By far the best gym by the bay!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Justin B.Oakland, CA01Nov 2, 2021
Very rude on the phone. They had 4 clients actively training and couldn't take a phone call for a monthly rate because they don't have a secretary. Poor customer service very cut and dry. I will be going in to see if it's worth going in for a flyer to see about pricing. Again rude people working in a customer service field. They are not doing customers any favors by hanging up on them over the phone when they call about pricing. Update coming
soon...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lea Q.Oakland, CA01Oct 9, 2021
Some lady at the front desk was so off-putting and rude! I was ready to sign up for a membership but she turned me all the way off! She almost made me lose my religion.

The best gym in east bay hands down. If you really want to come to get a real workout and not wait around to use equipment. Then this is the place for you.

The gym has loads of equipment, selected and set up by someone who knows what he is doing, Diego Chairs. It is Diego that makes this gym really special and unique. If you are serious about getting fit, whether your aspiration is just to lose some weight and get toned or whether you are serious about bodybuilding, this is the place for you.
