I just finished a one week job training course at this hotel. The property is beautiful, the people are friendly, the food is great, and the rooms are clean. Unfortunately, the property isnt open to the general public, so if you dont have a scheduled meeting or training here with an organization/company, the property will not be open to you.

The hotel, previously called IDEARC, is about 77 wooded acres located across the Dallas Fort Worth airport. The hotel offers free shuttle pick up services. You will need to call the hotel after your arrival to notify them of which terminal you'll be at. The pick up is usually located at a courtesy van pick up location.

The food at the hotel was outstanding. They offered a large variety of food/desserts/dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have many food prep people that cook your dish on the spot, make your sandwich right when you order it, or serve you any of the food from the buffet. After checking in and obtaining a key card, you'll never have to pay with cash here. Just "charge it to the room". If your company purchases the meal plan, all you have to do is flash your room key card so you dont pay anything and nothing is charged to your room. Of course, you'll have to pay if you arent staying at the hotel.

The rooms are quiet and comfortable. You will hear the occassional airplane fly overhead but after a while you get used to it. TV has many cable channels and there is a mini fridge in the room. Microwaves are located in an assigned location on each floor, not in the rooms. The bath amenities are all Bath & Body Works products. Free wifi in the rooms too!

The training rooms are comfortable with good technical devices for powerpoint presentations. Every morning there were a line of coffee (reg and decaf), hot water, water bottles, juice bottles, and sodas along with breakfast pastries or breakfast bars and fruit. We were never hungry because they fed us so much!!! In the afternoon, the food options changed to yummie chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies.

Had a great stay here. Wouldnt mind coming back for training here again!

I teach computer class here. The hotel rooms are nice and there's a lot of variety of foods offered in the cafeteria. The service there is good too

Great place if you want to get exercise because everything is so far away. 5 minute walk to class, 5 minute walk to cafe.

Nice resort. Indoor gym and outdoor tennis and racquetball

Beds are firm, breakfast is free, shuttle is free and they will take you out to a restaurant. The nicest people are in transportation and front desk.

The staff is very great. Stephane or Kimberly is not the most friendly person. They tell you that their VIP owners of dex are arriving and you cannot get a ride on the shuttle. I imagine that the owners of dex would like to take of their guest first. My biggest issue was the transportation. It's nice that they provide a van to take people to and from the hotel. But they tell you on the half hour they will pickup and depart to grapevine. Unless someone from the airport calls. Well, why cant people get picked up and then go to the airport rather than wait for an hour. The drivers are really nice and just do what they are told. The person coordinating needs to be better at communication

The food is absolutely the best in Texas! You won't find better service and selection in a cafeteria as this one. The executive chef is one of the worlds best!

Let's put the reasons I withheld one star right up front: on the bottom floor there is a pervasive smell of mildew. There, that's it. I am here for six weeks of residential training related to my job. Setting aside the sadistic torture that is six weeks of residential training, I have to say that this place doesn't suck. The food is very good, the staff helpful and friendly, the shuttle is always available, and the facility is close to lots of restaurants and things to do. Nearby is an outlet mall, an AMC 30 with those first class dining auditoriums (bliss!), the town of Grapevine (charming!), and the world class museums in Forth Worth and Dallas. You might want to kill your classmates after several weeks of being incarcerated with them, but you won't do it on account of this conference center.

This would be a very useful hotel but they have a very bad policy. They have signs banning trained and licensed parents from being allowed to protect their babies from harm. Babies are the most defenseless of all and are the last people who should be made defenseless targets! I was not going to take my new baby into a victim disarmament zone so I stay at other hotels. I know that the first thing they would do if they needed help would be to call the police and beg them to bring their means to protect them after the event would already be over. It would be better for someone that can protect their family to already be there. So I am forced to stay at their competitor than to take my baby in a hotel where I can't keep him safe by legal means.
