The Derby Jacket was a Fashion icon from San Francisco in the 70' and 80's. Derby Of San Francisco made several jackets in this time but there is the one cut that stands out. "The Original" is a cut which has transformed worldwide to be recognized as a "Derby Jacket". "Fashion has changed so much over the years because people see a certain garment style and try to change it a little to make it their own style. So many new styles have evolved from an original style that it has literally deformed that product and in a sense, Fashion. I'm taking it back to the basics, 360 degrees to when it started almost 50 years ago." - Victor Suarez CEO, Derby Of San Francisco

I just love this place. The staff is always so nice and helpful. They are very welcoming. They always do a limited edition jacket, it always wxciing to see what color they come up with next. Great quality and still an amazing price. Whenever you are visiting San Francisco, I recommend stopping in this cute little shop and take a peek. Better yet taking home a new comfly jacket..

I am waiting for a specific jacket to come in, they email regularly to let me know the status. They are very friendly. Can't wait to go pick up the classic jacket for my son.

Omg the people working there have to be the rudest people on this planet even after spending $170 on a coat. I would have bought a shirt that I saw that I liked but she did not even respond to my question. You lost a sale! Note to owners get someone to work your store that doesn't think they are too cool to talk! Ugly vibes!

Back when I was a punk kid, I always wore my boyfriend's Derby. I think I may have snagged it from him as I still had the jacket long after I 'lost' the beau. Ha.

That made-in-the-USA Derby (not a dig about where they are made now, but rather a dig at my own age!) is long gone, sadly. Pre-Covid, I had the chance to peep Derby of SF's wares. The shop is cozy & easy navigable as a result. Derby sizing is no longer numbered (ex.: 40, 42, etc.), but rather 'lettered' (S, M, L, XL, etc.) Being able to try on the jackets in store was very helpful. The dude working there was friendly, but hands-off (and that was fine for me). As a 'medium sized' woman, I can say with assurance that I'm an 'S' in the current Derby sizing scheme. The particular color I was after at that time was out-of-stock.

I've yet to purchase a piece of my youth, but will do so at some point as this joint is selling something so many of us feel re: Derby jackets and that is: nostalgia.

I love all my derby jackets. Every time i wear my limited edition jacket people always ask me about it.
My favorite thing about the jackets are the different colors that they offer. I love the color green so i got all the shades of green, my favorite one right now is the new dark khaki color. My jackets always make my outfits pop and keep me warm on this San Francisco weather. I enjoy the environment at the store and love to hear other customers tell their stories from back in the day whenever I'm in there. The ladies always greet you when coming in and are friendly but don't harass you. They make it very clear that they are there to help if needed. I will definitely be getting more derby jackets in the future. I'm exited to see what colors will be dropping next year.

First of all, born and raised San Francisco, the first time I got a Derby jacket was in 1982, everything about this jacket I loved, the cut the style, gold and black lining, the pockets were lined with felt that kept your fingers warm, there is nothing more dapper than a man that knows how to dress properly, and tops it off with a derby jacket of San Francisco , I recently purchased the derby with the hoodie, cool idea, it breaks my heart to even say this, the integrity of this company is no more the quality is just like everything else made in this world nowadays, it's terrible, I can't believe you guys did this to our beloved Derby jacket, the only reason I am giving you three stars is because you kept the gold and black lining, changing the quality of the Derby jacket is like taking the gold and black lining away from the jacket, why would you destroy something that was so awesome, to save a little money, disrespect to everybody that loves Derbys it's like a dish to our Hood it's like a disc to everything, even the hook loop is made out of some kind of plastic, you couldn't have kept that tiny little piece of material leather like it used to be, I am so bummed I want to return this jacket but unfortunately it has been over 30 days, you know last year I bought my daughter a cotton candy pink Derby, from the store in San Francisco, the quality of that jacket was still a hundred times better than this one that I just received, you think you would want Happy customers, I have written I have emailed, and asked if I could return it no reply, rip the beloved Derby, I wouldn't be surprised if this one was made in China too, I understand the fabric was changed because it is waterproof, but why did you take the quality from this awesome jacket and make it like your company just doesn't care about its customers or the fact that derbies are a little bit of us and if you're from the hood and SF man don't disrespect the people come on man, one bummed OG, that will now just look to buy Derby's at the flea market when you can find an original one that was made with quality love and respect, with all due disrespect you killed my beloved jacket and that sucks, this jacket still has the tags and everything maybe you can let me return it because I am bummed

Came into store greeted by 2 ladies, just sitting and drinking. Walked around a bit, very small store, no one offered to assist, so I asked if they had a Derby jacket in black, they replied with a no, then one commented we get that question all day everyday, so my question to this store is if you get that question multiple times everyday, then why don't you have that color. My suggestion is to overstock this particular color, so that you don't have to turn away customers. Jacket cost $165, they'll probably sell 3 or 4 a day.
BAD customer service and BAD experience.
