De La Barracuda

Ah, yes. De La Barracuda. One of the finest establishments you'll ever encounter on Melrose. They had the best boxing gym in LA hands down. Great people, great environment, great selection of clothing. I have missed the DeLaBBC ever since it closed down 2 months ago. Sadly, I did not get a chance to go again ever since I moved back up north. When I found out that they were going to get rid of the boxing program, I was devastated.

All the weight that I lost while taking classes there was gained back due to the state of depression I fell into after hearing that they closed it down. Haha. Miguel is such a cool guy. When I come back to LA, I am going to pay you guys a visit. I can't wait to work out with Alex again soon!

Miguel de la Barracuda- owner of the store--- good guy. i met him at a party last summer and decided to visit the store when one of my close friends (a DJ) was asked to spin at the his store.

if you're bored... or really horny, this is a good place to cruise. j/k! however, you'll always find hotties who look like Lupe Fiasco-carbon copies shopping there. i shop/browse here frequently whenever i am in the Melrose strip vicinity. it reminds me a lot of most street/pop culture/trendy wear for the fat wallets. i LOVE it! =)

one thing that attracts me most to this place is the displays of vinyl toys. now- i'm a big collector- so seeing a bunch of gigantic Dunny's in the store brings a big smile to my face. i like the red shelving system... the depth of the color brings richness to the mood. i'd probably want my closet to look very similar to this. at least my SHOE closet. =) the brands they carry are definitely "nod" worthy.

Ive always loved the Barracuda LA logo...

i love their 50% off sales and the patio sales.

& ive made a few friends with some of the kids who work here..
so what could be better than that?

Step your game up boo.  Get here and get FRESH.  Gangsta that closet up and turn necks like nothing.  

Invest in that Swagger and grab yourself some fly az hell LA Emblem Tshirts along with a BARRAFUCKINCUDA shirt and have people falling over you.  Don't be silly grab yourself a hat too!  Trust you will get a wink when you wear Barracuda!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the Boxing classes @ DELABBC!!! These classes are no joke. If you come in for one be prepared to WORK! You're going to feel amazing after!
As far as the store meeeyeah...I think I purchased more clothing from the old location on the strip. The brands were local and unique now it's a bit "upscale" with the same old tired brands you can find anywhere, but I guess it goes with the territory gotta get in where you fit in ;)

Greatest cardio boxing workout on the planet!!!!

If you want to get in shape, drop weight and tone, Alex Brenes will not only kick your butt into gear, but he'll teach you correctly so you don't and won't injure yourself.  In 3 months I lost 8 pounds and 3 inches off my waist.  All my skinny jeans are falling off me!

L.A. represent! This store is rad with a capital R. Super comfy graphic tees, sweats, loungewear..the works! They had a great sale when we came and I scored a few tees for $10-$15/each and these killer drawstring pants for lounging around the house.

Clean, well-designed branded fashion. Cool store, owner & dogs that were wandering about the store.

My new must-go to shop anytime I'm on Melrose. You'll be seeing a lot of my $, barracuda.

I once chose an oversized Buddhist Punk jacket over eating for a week, killed two birds with one stone.

..Ambiguity sets the boutique apart from it's passe neighbors And speaking of Neighborhood, their collection of designers makes me wet as the racks are filled with: Hysteric Glamour, Buddhist Punk, Yohji Yamamoto, Ultra, and then some. No competition with other high-end boutiques with the same names either, Barracuda racks it up with a sophisticated-urban/art environment and even fresh styling of a DJ now and then.

Rad.

Ah, Barracuda, one of my favorite places to shop at when on melrose. Great selection of nike, adidas, modern amusement, stussy, xlrg; you name it they've got it!

Lovin' the music, keeps the place going all the time.

The first time I went here I thought to myself, "for the love of Mary, I think I might have a stroke." and from that point on I was hooked. I work out a lot, gym workouts and wanted to mix things up. Found this place through Yelp (thank you all) and knew I was coming back. I actually did a 45 minute cardio workout before I got there the first time b/c I wasn't sure it would be "enough" and lord was I wrong. Alex, the instructor was amazing. The place, very clean and organized, light and roomy and the staff, very helpful.  

So NATURALLY six weeks later I find out the place has CLOSED. They didn't know when or where they would re-open. I was very, very bummed.  Hopefully, they will pop up somewhere just as nice with just as good parking and all the other good things that came with it.
