Q:
Is this place halal? I don't see any certifications for it being halal?
A:
They may be halal. But there is no indication on a sign at either the kabob takeout house or the restaurant that they are. And none of their menus says halal.

Is indoor dining available?
A:
If Alameda County allows it I am sure they will do limited indoor dining.

We had a friends get together here over the weekend. The food was excellent like always. However there's a wait for seating, due to the shortage of seating space. Service was great. The should move to a larger location. Definitely recommend

Sep 21, 2023Previous reviewHad dinner here with family. Their food is amazing. They are in my opinion the best Afghan restaurant in the east bay. It does take a while to get seated because the location is small. But highly recommended.

One of the oldest and longest running Afghan restaurants in the East Bay. Also the most authentic. The restaurant feels like a small hole-in-the-wall place.
I really liked the Chaplee Kabob and the Combo Murgh & Teka. Both were delicious.
However, service here is AWFUL. Upon sitting down, it took the staff 40 minutes to even acknowledge us and take our order. We had to call the waiter 3 times. Food came at around 20 minutes prior to ordering, which I feel is standard for kabob dishes. Then, it took another 30 minutes for the waiter to clear our tables and give us the check. This also took another 3 tries to call the waiter.
If it weren't for the great food, I would have given this place a 1 star for the horrible service experience.

Ordered to go, but the place looks a very nice place to dine in. Had a nice vibe and set up is nice. Only issue I had is I was charged twice and they asked me who charged me the first time the person denied it. Took a while to sort it out and eventually they returned almost the full amount. Funny the first charge they charged me for credit card fee. The second time they didn't but then they only returned the amount excluding the fee. It's ok though. I ordered last minute and was kinda in a hurry and food came out pretty quickly. Their Kebabs there are super good so I didn't kid too much.

On a bustling Saturday evening, the restaurant buzzed with activity. Despite all indoor tables being occupied, we opted for an outdoor seat due to a 30-minute wait. Despite the December chill, the experience proved worthwhile. Securing attention for our order took time, but the savory bolani and generously sized portions compensated for the delay. The doogh, a fermented yogurt drink, was a highlight. Service aimed to be attentive, though occasional nudges were necessary. Overall, a positive experience, but next time, I'll aim for a less hectic hour to savor my meal indoors without concerns about food temperature.

Came here for the first time to try Afghani food probably for the first time as well! It's not a big restaurant but I was glad that we got a table right away. There was another store next to it that sells takeouts I believe, which was kinda confusing. I got the combo plate with lamb, chicken and beef: big servicing size, absolutely tasty (I think chicken was my fav out of the three). We also had the zucchini pancake which tasted so healthy and oddly addicting. I would love to try the other fillings for the pancake later!

After being in Fremont for so many years, we finally tried this place. We had take out so cannot comment about the service and ambiance. However, the food itself was delicious- they know their chicken kebabs! It was juicy and perfect on the inside. Looking forward to visit this place for a dine-in experience.

Super slow service. Food is ok .
It took them more than an hour to serve. Very disappointedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 6521495172Dec 19, 2023
Got the trio platter with white rice. It was ok, the meat Pattie was probably the better tasting meat. The chicken is soft and the beef is tender but didn't like it as much as the patty. Take out only takes cash.

I had the best experience here, Idrees is the fastest server, he greeted me as soon as I was seated. He's very kind and welcoming . Will be coming back, I had the best serving experience!!

Came on a Wednesday for lunch (8 of us coworkers) right when open around 11:30-ish. Small place with very limited parking (in the back or on the streets).
Food was good, and price was decent. But the service could use some improvement. When first entered, the guy pointing us to our table could at least smile and say "hi, welcome", etc., but nothing (no facial expression). Later, same guy took our orders, gave us bread and water, then disappeared as we await our food for the next 30-40 minutes! No one came to check if we needed more bread, more water, or anything other than (guessing) the owner or manager dropped by real quick (right before paying our bill) to ask how's our day and if the food was good?Helpful 10Thanks 1Love this 6Oh no 0
