If you walk into Dave's and don't enjoy yourself, it's because you don't belong in dive bars. So don't write a crappy review about the place. Just get back into your Mini Cooper and go find a nice safe gastropub with over-priced craft beer and corporate smiles.

    And p.s. Monique is delightful.

AHH...Dave's Tavern... I have hung out there for years. It has always been a dive, but now the owner just doesn't care anymore. The girls behind the bar get wasted and overcharge. Bloody snot rockets in the bathroom from people doing too much coke. The same regulars asking you for cigarettes every day... but it was home. Not anymore. I've had it.

I sat next to the owner last night and paid my tab before realizing the drunk bartender overcharged me. Again. Happy hour, $2.50 beers, I had 3, then the guy next to me wanted to leave, and gave me his beer. Bartender, drunk, and forgetting he wanted to leave, sees him without a beer, and poured him another, which he immediately gave to me and dipped out. She must have seen I had a fresh beer, forgot she didn't pour me one, and charged me for it.

When I questioned her on it, she acknowledged she overcharged me, screamed something across the bar, and disappeared. Didn't pay me back for the one beer she acknowledged, let alone the two I actually didn't have. Mind you, this is all going down IN FRONT of the owner, and he just sits there like he has no idea his bartender is A. Drunk, and B. acknowledging overcharging and not doing a single thing about it. and C. screaming obscenities at a patron. She even says at one point "Oh yeah, tell the owner your WOES" to which owner Dave does NOTHING.

Instead of getting loud and calling out the bartender for being drunk and completely unable to do her job correctly, I shook my head at the owner and walked out. For $5 I'll just post it here. It used to be a cool place to hang out, but between the cocaine and snot rockets in the bathroom (which I also brought to drunk bartender's attention, and she did nothing about) and the drunk messes behind the bar (and the smell of sewage, the homeless regulars, and coke heads and people going nowhere).

    no thanks.

A great little dive bar like Cheers, where everyone knows your name (Once you have been here a few times).  I came in with my boyfriend nearly 2 years ago and it has changed....3 of the regular bartenders no longer work there (Meg, Lisa, and Kendall), but the ones that have stayed (Angie and Linese) and the new ones are great!

Inexpensive drinks....I rarely drink so a regular Coke is $1 and a bag of trail mix is $1...they are Ok if you bring in outside food since they only have chips and trail mix and sometimes beef sticks....MXN is within walking distance and a 7-Eleven is in the same strip mall.  If you want to do your laundry at Ms. Bubbles or get your nails done at Pro Nails & Hair Fashions, a pit stop at Dave's in between errands works!

The flooring has recently been updated as well as the bar counter top.  The area has a 'funk' smell of sewage, but that is throughout the strip mall.....I think its the creek a block away.....

Jukebox music, one pool table, high stool seating only at either the bar or tables, no booths, smoking in the back outside or in the front.....I don't smoke and it still smells if the people are not far enough away from the door.

During holidays, the Owners will bring in food....Thanksgiving, Christmas, St. Patrick's Day.

They have a Facebook page Dave Tavern Regulars and the bartenders will post specials and what's going on that day which is helpful.

A few regulars that you will most always see when coming in.....

    "Let's have Irish car bombs!"

"I'm buying you all some border bastards!"

             "What's a vodka gummy bear?"

This is how our uncoordinated hero and his 2 friends ended up with 2 beers, 2 shots, and 3 gummy bears in front of each of them within three minutes of walking into Dave's.  It was definitely better than it looked from the outside.

The drink specials here are great: $3 Irish car bombs, $3 border bastards, and $7-9 pitchers on Thursdays.  In addition, they have vodka gummy bears available!  Those things are like jello shooters (which they also have), but cuter.

    PROS:
    - They have a collection of board games you can play there, including my favorite: Scrabble!  Drinking + board games = guaranteed good time.
    - They play all the Pats games on their TVs.  This is a New England football fan haven.
    - Really cheap boilermaker specials.

    CONS:
    - They don't exactly have an ideal location; it's located in a strip mall next to a 7-11.
    - Very small bar with only one pool table and one bartender working.

I came in to have a drink with my wife we both ordered a beer. We drank about half a beer and stepped outside. We had placed coasters on top to signal the bartender that we had not finished out $9 half full drinks. .The bar tender threw our drinks out and when I came back asking where they had gone she said that we had finished them. I exclaimed that they needed were obligated to refill our drinks and at which point she said " you didn't tip me"  I had been in the bar 1 hour prior and tipped her $3 for one beer. And had planned to tip her in cash upon leaving the bar.

Terrible service. Terrible bar tender. The most expensive half a beer I've ever purchased.

Absolutely love this small divey bar! I really enjoy the pool table and they have a really good happy hour. They are usually not too busy so it's easy to hang out with a friend and have conversations. They always have movies or TV shows playing on the TVs. The best nights to go here would be on Tuesday Saturday and Sunday nights! Super great customer service and a good selection on drinks.

Dave's is as a tiny small spot down the street from my house that boasts only a beer and wine licence, a pool table and tons of regulars (or at least so it seems).

Tucked in the same shopping center as a 7-11 Dave's is a local's spot, not necessarily a destination. Even so, the bartenders are extremely friendly, the prices reasonable and totally walk-able from my house for when I get tired of NiteOwl.

Since I don't have cable, there's a good chance you'll see my bike parked outside when I'm here to catch some football.

I've read a lot of the bad reviews here and you have to review it as it is... This is a local dive bar... you can't have super expectations and expect what you'd get at a more expensive bar. This is one of my favorite local taverns in PB...

The bartender is nice and knows what drinks you order (I've only been there 3 times and she knows what I drink)

The beer is cheap - 2 dollar beers! and you get good microbrewed beers! Last month was 2 dollar firehouses!

There is a working Dart Board, a bowling game machine, new jukebox, and a pool table. What's not to like? Everyone here is friendly and when you just want a cheap beer, its the best place!

Great vibe!  Never have to wait long to get a drink.  Everytime we go the bartenders make you feel at home.   Now keep in mind this is a low key neighborhood bar.  So if you can respect that then you will have a great time.

An awesome hang out. Cool bar, TV with the game on, and pool table. Plenty beers on tap. Literally don't need anything else for chilling  with a beer
