This is a terrible hospital!! Do not come here. I never felt so avoided before in my life. They put a IV in me 3 times like they don't know how to do their job! And thennnnn take my blood but don't even take the blood to test it ! It was on the stand next to me. Didn't run no test on me at all. They do not care about their patients at all I was better off at home. This hospital needs to be investigated.

if I could give a 0 star review I would. I went in for my blood pressure and a nose bleed to be given gauze and told to use that next time my nose bleeds and said I should just keep an eye on my bp at home. My blood pressure was 167/120. I had to go to another ER just to get the proper treatment. This is crazy that you can turn me away with stoke number blood pressure reading.

I have been going here for physical therapy and it worked. My pain is gone. They have a large uncrowded facility with excellent staff. And parking is free.

Thanks for the kind words and five stars, Chris! We always try and treat our patients like family, and we're glad it shows. And thank you for mentioning our free parking; we do not believe in charging our patients to park.

I have never been in here for a true medical event, but this hospital has hosted many community events over the years and for that, it is a great place.
Parking is generally pretty easy and you can find your way around to where you need to go. In the evening, it is a bit more difficult as you may not encounter many staff members to ask.
The cafeteria closes a bit earlier than some hospitals and the vending machine options are okay.
The last remodel has this place really looking very good.
My last 3 trips there were for public service organization meetings in the community room. It is a great place to meet.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Mike V.West Oak Hill, Austin, TX03May 26, 2022
My Daughter was not feeling well and took herself to the Dallas Medical Center. The ER Doctor told us that she had an enlarged heart and that she needed to be admitted. Spoke to the cardiologist and the hospital doctor the next day who knew nothing about an enlarged heart. None of the staff/doctors talk to one another and after all the test that were run, it turns out that there was no enlarged heart and she was fine. I believe they were just running up the bill! When I asked about all the above the nurse called the doctors who both doctors said to discharge her which then took 2 1/2 hours because no one was at the hospital knew how to do it! Before I started asking questions they wanted to keep her another night. This hospital needs to be investigating!!!

I am currently here I came into the ER and ended up having my appendix taken out, before I had my surgery they were giving me morphine for pain I had told numerous doctors that the morphine was only helping me for about 10 minutes they kept bringing me morphine even after my surgery not untill I caught an attitude with a nurse she then changed my meds which helped I started to get an unrelated pain on my right side and mentioned it to the nurses and they blew it off and told me to RELAx, about two hours after mentioning it got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore I press the call button and waited for 10 minutes before I started calling for help then finally someone came in, instead of helping me she came in assuming I wanted pain medicine for my appendix, she told me to LISTEN to her and started telling me how things work around here I acknowledge the fact way before that I know I have to wait every four hours for pain medicine, and proceeded to tell her I am having excruciating pain in my right side and she straight up said "what do you want me to do" I asked if she could get a doctor who can tell me what's going on with me( assuming it's my liver from all the useless morphine and previous diagnoses) she said ok and never came back luckily my pain went away from there but started hurting from my surgery ( it had been four hours so I figured it would be ok to ask for pain medicine plus my machine was beeping) I pressed the call button again
A different nurse came in and asked why I was calling for help earlier I had explain to her I was in excruciating pain and she proceeded to lecture me about "of course your gonna hurt u just got out of surgery" and I again had to explain I was having an excruciating pain in an unrelated area from my surgery and all she proceeded to say was how do you know it is your liver how do you know this and that just because it hurts there doesn't mean it's your liver and proceeded to mention how the can't keep giving me medicine whenever I'm in pain. I apologize and I once again knowledge the fact that I knew that but I press the call button because I was having pain somewhere else and I believe something is wrong with me somewhere else, at eventually just had to ignore her for her to stop lecturing me all while I was in pain, she told me to stop getting myself so worked up( like I'm not in mf pain ) it's bizarre that I'm getting lectured for using the call button for the sole purpose OF THE CALL BUTTON i genuinely needed help and instead I was ignored and lectured really getting in trouble for asking for genuine help .my mother will be picking me up and taking me to another hospital plz don't come here I would recommend Carrollton regional medical center. I tried to be nice and understanding considering they might be overflowed and stressed but they were in no way kind nor professional, in my three day stay no one offered to help me take a shower, no one came to clean my room and probably only saw and spoke to my surgeon once right before my surgery for 5 minHelpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Please let me begin by saying this review does not apply to the nursing staff. They are overwhelmed and working their butts off in an understaffed nightmare. Nor does it apply to the ER - this is specifically targeted to the hospital itself and the poor service you will receive here.
I took my husband in to DMC's ER on Tuesday night with difficulty breathing and an elevated heart rate that wouldn't come down. This is the closest ER to our home in North Dallas and I was afraid he was going to have a heart attack at any moment. We have used this ER in the past and have nothing but good things to say about it.
Our experience was great - all the way up until it was determined we needed to be admitted at 10 p.m. So we waited, and we waited, and we waited. At 3 a.m., it was finally determined there was no room for him and he would have to spend the night in the ER, so he was given a real hospital bed so he could get a little sleep.
In the three days we were 'guests' of this fine establishment, we experienced the following:
1. A full day with no AC (it was in the 90's outside)
2. Out of the eight meals he should have eaten here, they forgot to feed him three times - yes, that's right - THREE times out of eight - meal time came and went with no food for him. I had to go ask for food and it showed up two hours later - after I had already gone out and gotten him food elsewhere. So we paid the hospital for meals plus we had to purchase food elsewhere.
3. He was scheduled for a test one morning and it wasn't until I asked about it mid-day that we were finally told that the machine was down and it wouldn't happen until the following day - so one full day where they did nothing but leave him sitting in a room - take his temperature and monitor his vitals and do nothing else - not even feed him.
4. In this time of 'extra precaution' and disinfection, his room was not cleaned once - not once - the trash was not emptied in the room, the bathroom was not cleaned. Nothing was even wiped down. That was the scariest thing of all to me.
5. After all this and I'm sure a bill in the tens of thousands to my insurance company, they have no diagnosis. Nothing wrong. No treatment plan. Obviously we are following up with other/more respected specialists immediately.
Apologies for the long post - never go here unless you just need the ER - never let them admit you. It is a living hell and you will come home sicker than when you left - I got sick two days after getting home, despite wearing a mask 100% of the time. They don't clean the place, so you're going to catch something. It's filthy. If you value your life, RUN.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

The nurse Regina my Cuz has is very nice. She went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure she was comfortable and well taken care of.

I don't want to join the bandwagon of people giving this hospital a one star rating. I have seen worse hospitals, but only in Africa. I would say the main problem with this hospital is a deep lack of interest in patients and poor morale of the nurses. We transferred out of this facility and went to Baylor Scott and White rehab and the difference was night and day. As far as hospitals in Dallas, and I have been in many, this one is by far the worst. It just seems like the nurses don't care. Maintenance in the hospital is poor. Many broken items in my room. Having to wait one hour do you have a nurse come was unacceptable and when I ask why was told they didn't get the message. This is not the way to run a hospital.
