Brisket platter
I was very excited to try their brisket but it did not meet expectations. It was dry and the Dac's bbq sauce had nothing special to it. The beans, cole slaw and corn bread where extremely sweet. It was all $18 dollars way too expensive for portion and taste.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dan L.Mokena, IL027Dec 1, 2022
Interesting place. No ambiance...food was ok. Think I'd go back and try it again. Liked the Mac n'cheese

Ordered their grilled cheese which was ok. It was pretty much a little but of American cheese in-between overly thick bread.
Their mac n cheese is okay too. The food that did stand out were the fries - they were shapes like potato slices and were very crispy and delicious.
It also took a very long time to get our food, which we were surprises by because it's the kind of restaurant you go up to a counter and put your order in and then find your own seat. But it took as long as a normal sit down place and a little longer than that too.
Overall was hoping for better quality, but also their staples probably aren't grilled cheese and mac n cheese so their more main foods may probably be better than what we had.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - S H.Peoria, IL0425May 4, 2022
First timer. Went to Campus Town location for lunch.
Restaurant is located in a strip mall and looks small from the outside...this is not the case.
It's a good sized restaurant with large tables and plenty of room.
I ordered the smoked turkey club sandwich with Sante Fe slaw and sidekick had the brisket sandwich with Carolina slaw.
Both came with homemade pickles.
We decided to share each other's and give a review.
Both sandwiches were very good, the brisket perfectly smoked, tender, and moist.
One of the best briskets I've had.
However, the Turkey club was fantastic!
The flavors of this sandwich blend perfectly.
A must try.
The homemade pickles have a unique taste and are good, but are spicy!
You will not be disappointed here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Josh J.East Peoria, IL1111Jul 9, 2022
Fabulous food. Nearly everything is made in-house. Great variety for a bbq joint, and weekly specials. I usually try one of those, though the regular menu hits just right as well.

The pulled chicken sandwich fiery style (minus the jalapenos) was pretty good. Buttered bun, lots of carmelized opinions, melted cheese, good smoky flavor on the meat, and the garlic aioli I added on the side was a nice addition. The baked beans were hearty and good, but could have used a bit more of a molasses type sweetness though. The cornbread muffin was a little disappointing: small, a bit bland with not sweet or savory punch. Overall, a good experience. I'd go back.

A student at Bradley had recommended Dac's Smokehouse. The server was friendly and had recommended the brisket. I had ordered the beisket and German sausage. Both were nicely cooked. The sausage still had that snap in it. The Mac n Cheese was delicious.L, but the cheesy corn was a tad salty for me. The server stopped by to see if I needed anything else and to find out what I thought of the food. I like the attentiveness. Going to try burnt ends the next time I have lunch there. It's a great BBQ place with a friendly staff near the university.

We had just arrived in town after a long drive from Columbus, Ohio when the restaurant was about to close. They initially told us they were closed but then decided to let us have dinner when my wife told her of our plight of not finding any other restaurants that were open.
The food was awesome, the service was great , and we would definitely go back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Destinee W.Pekin, IL222Jun 12, 2021
List en to me
This place is phenomenal. The brisket is so tender. The white cheddar Mac should hold the sole rights to call itself white cheddar Mac.
This place knows what they're doing. Go. Now.
Also, MIXED BERRY CHEESECAKE EGGROLLS. Need I say more?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
