Very clean spot, chill vibes, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere! This is my first time coming, I heard nothing but great things and DA J3RK SPOT did NOT disappoint.
This is an absolute MUST! The food does not skimp on quality so heighten your expectations beyond the standards of fast food service. Food is freshly prepared by the order so a little patience is needed but, TRUST...your taste buds and belly will be thanking you later! Although you might be mad you couldn't order all of the other tempting dishes on the menu but pace yourselves, there's more time to come back and order a new dish next time. It does cost a few more dollars than fast food but it's NOT fast food and the dishes are restaurant-quality. I live in Anchorage but this will become the reason my husband and I keep making this short drive. Sooooo worth it! If you can't tell, we are your newest fans, V!
Go check it out and pass the word - only place in the area with Caribbean cuisine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sam K.Fairhope, AL1823Mar 22, 2024

Very good food. Took a minute to get it but was well worth the wait. Very homemade taste and appeal... definitely not fast food

Update: I've been pretty obsessed with the Rasta pasta. But, I tried the chickpea curry and my partner had the curried goat and I'm not sure how either of us have survived without these. The curries are incredible.

We got the flatbread, veggie burger and fried plantains and everything was excellent. They have perfect portion sizes and everything in the menu is affordable. I super appreciate the vegetarian and vegan options (super hard to find in Eagle River) and excited to come back to try the curries! Everything was super clean, Covid safe, everyone masked and online ordering was so simple!

This place is very very clean.
There's 2 kiosks that you place your order at, and also you can't substitute anything. Once you place your order and take your seat, there is someone who brings the food to the table.
My food was so disappointing.
The flavor was there. But my oxtails were covered in an unusual amount of fat. And they were tough!!
The curry goat was also just ok.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Antonia N.Tanaina, Wasilla, AK9034Jul 28, 2023
Food was 10/10 for flavor! Loved how easy it was to order on the kiosk along with very Friendly staff. So glad I decided to stop in today absolutely will be returning to try more when in Eagle River next.

If you're craving Caribbean flavor, this is it! It has been almost a year since I've had Jamaican food and Da J3rk Spot really hit the spot! My husband and I got the jerk chicken and shrimp bowls, jerk chicken sandwich and fried sweet plantains. Pro tip: For even more flavor and some spice, mix in the scotch bonnet sauce! You're welcome.

This was definitely an interesting take on Jamaican food! Especially here in Anchorage you wouldn't expect to find a jerk chicken spot! It has its traditional menu and it's more modern menu. The cashier (not sure if it was the owner) was super kind and even took the time to explain the whole menu to my friend and I because were new!
I got the jerk chicken wings that came with rice and beans, and plantains.
I also got the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious!
The chicken was slightly crunchier but the meat was so soft and the jerk sauce was perfect. The rice and beans really complimented and brought everything together.
The mac and cheese was baked so it was a little dry but it was delicious! It had a nice Caribbean spice to it different from regular mac and cheese. And the cheese used in it was sharp and tangy.
Overall I give it a 5/5. Definitely got me for the next time!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Brandi G.Anchorage, AK737456Feb 5, 2022
Great customer service she asked if it was our first time and since it was went over the menu with us and the popular items.
Hibiscus Passion fruit punch was delicious she mentioned they get the hibiscus from New York. The jerk chicken wrap was delicious the chicken was moist and flavorful. I had never had plantain chips before but the were very similar to potato chips crispy and tasty.
She mentioned their food was made with love and I can tell! Highly recommend trying this spot out, we will be back.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Nov 3, 2020
EDIT: in response to the business owner: I am well aware that this is not fast food, that is exactly why I made a special trip to visit! The fact that the food would be ready if I waited was not articulated clearly to me as the business owner described. I made special stop in ER just to come here, I would have happily waited if I knew this! Perhaps the business shouldn't open at 11 if they are only able to have half the menu ready at 11:30.
I've been trying to get out to this spot since...well, since I heard about it!
But, I'm usually in Eagle River really early in the morning, or really late in the day and...this place isn't opened.
The other day I made a *special trip*.
I was immediately disappointed, they were out of almost everything that involved oven-cooked chicken.
I opted for the jerk chicken salad, which they did have. In a great twist, they will bring the food out to you in your car when it's done. COVID precautions seemed to be pretty good in general.
I am happy to report it is one of the best salads I've had in the greater Anchorage area! The jerk was actually spicy! (so many jerk shops have jerk that is sweet...it tastes more like pumpkin spice than spicy spice) The greens were varied and fresh. It was a fantastic salad.
I hope to get back and try some of the chicken-centered dishes, then I'll re-review. I can't justify 5-stars when most of the menu was out of commission.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Andrew,
We appreciate the feedback. That being said, we are family owned business and have children. Sometimes we don’t always get to the restaurant to start prepping as early as we’d like. We are not a fast food restaurant and our food takes time to make. Everything is made to order so there is always a wait. I believe this was explained to you when you came in. It’s not that nothing was ready. Everything was on the grill and it would have been a little bit longer of wait than usual. I do hope you understand, and we were not out of anything.
Thanks,
Chef Ve
