I've been going to Cyclebar Preston Forest for almost a year now and it's about time I gave them their well deserved review.
Not only do the instructors take the time to get to know you as a rider, but also as a person. I've appreciated feeling part of this community since day one. I moved to Dallas from out of state, where I first joined Cyclebar. I knew the quality of cycling instruction would be great because Cyclebar has a level of excellence they uphold. However, I never would have thought I would get excited every week to see and be part of the community that was in this space. Cyclebar Preston Forest is special.
Shannon, the owner, is personable and wants to make sure you're enjoying yourself and your workout. Arvin, the lead instructor and my Monday night instructor, memorizes names, gets to know the riders, and does his best to challenge you to show up and give your all, while also being his most authentic self.
That keeps me going back to them on all the days, the good and the hard ones. Who would have thought I'd have energy on a Monday to go and workout?! Somehow it has happened here.
It's a workout.
It's a community.
And it's a really cool place to be part of.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 11238747478Sep 25, 2020Updated review80 check-ins
These last few months I have been trying to get back into my CycleBar routine. With COVID this place has definitely stepped up their game. They take your temperature when you arrive. You need to wear a mask that you can take off when you are on the bike and need to put it back on when you are off the bike and leaving the facility. The bikes are spaced out for social distancing.
You check in on the app on your phone. Come in grab a towel and a weight bar for arm weights. When you exit the studio there is a basket for the weight bars. One for shoes and one for towels. They also take thirty minutes to clean the bikes and studio after each class with some high tech cleaning stuff and UV lights.
The classes are still great. Jill, Bryan and Hannah are the instructors I have gone to the most and they are all motivating and push you a little harder than you think you can go. And man you feel great after you complete the 45 minute class. First class is still free if anyone wants to check it out!Helpful 34Thanks 0Love this 27Oh no 0Mar 16, 2017Previous reviewThis is only the second spinning class I have tried so in comparison it has all the things you need for a great spin experience. This studio is not officially open so they have several free classes to choose from through 3/26. There are also sing up specials online (20% savings) and in person (30% savings.)
You check in at the computers when you walk in and grab your shoes. Down one hall they have changing rooms, restrooms, and showers. Around the corner are the lockers, benches, water, bottles for water, fresh fruit and earplugs. Towels are also provided and they were already on the bikes.
The instructor we had last night was fun! The lights in the studio change colors from red, to blue to white to dark. Pretty cool. The bike tracks the time, which I'm not sure is a good thing or a bad thing since you know exactly how many more minutes you have left. The class was also a little over 50 minutes. For one song we did the arm bar weights that are stored at each bike.
All in all it's a great work out and definitely worth checking out while they have the introductory classes going on right now. - Nov 5, 2019
If you're new to spinning or unsure about how to get yourself set up on a bike, here's my best advice:
+ Be sure to tell someone you're new so that they can get you situated on the bike bc the height of the seat, height of the handlebars, and how close your seat is to the handlebars are ALL adjustable. Protect your knees and ride right!
+ This location comes with rental shoes when you take a class, and the shoes are SPD, but the bikes can take SPD and delta clips (just flip the pedal for one or the other)
+ Bring water. Drink it when your butt hits the saddle.
+ When you think you're dying 30 minutes into the 45 minute class, don't worry! A 3-4 minute arms session is right around the corner and will give you a cardio break (but maybe break your arms/shoulders lol)
+ Don't be afraid to up the resistance!
Lastly, shout out to Jackson. :) He's one of my fav instructors so far. I love his energy and that he counts us down to whatever "choreo" he'll have us doing - whether it's tap backs or figure 8s - so we know when to start etc. He also gives a brief explanation, which I really appreciated when I was new.
Fav spin studio so far, and a great way to burn calories!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0Business owner information

Liane, thank you for the wonderful review and excellent advise to new riders. Supportive riders like you are what makes our community so special. We also agree that Jackson is pretty awesome, but we feel that way about all of our amazing instructors. Haha! We're so excited to have you riding with us!

Caroline provided excellent customer service and we really appreciate cyclebar, great classes!

Rude service the lady at the front desk was not very nice for the 5:45 class today and said there was nothing she could do about it. The least they could do is offer me a credit future class since it was my first time and I paid a lot to attend it and I am moving here so I could've made it my home studio but now I have a bad taste in my mouth. Would appreciate better service to make this right but maybe this is the way they deal with new clients. I have gone to many great spin studios and they don't lock it 5 min into the class. Recommend you go elsewhere

As someone who enjoys cycling classes and was already familiar with CycleBar, I was pleased when this location opened earlier this year. Since this location is closer to home it provides me more options of feeding my cycling addiction; especially no the weekends
This location has a fairly large locker area which is beneficial during class changes. As one class exists the cycle room and the next class is waiting to enter the locker area can get very congested. Thankfully this one is large enough that it allows the waiting cyclists to move to the out of the way so those who just finished can grab their gear from lockers, towel off, etc. In case you're wondering there is a small wait in between classes as the staff needs this time to clean the cycle room, bikes along with replenishing each bike with fresh towels.
Like the other location where I'm a regular, the cycle room is theater style with lots of bikes waiting to be challenged. There are a couple of TV monitors which are used throughout the class to allow each participant to see how they're doing in comparison to each other (there's nothing like a little competition). Just before class starts, the door to the room is closed and the music (and fun) starts. Once class starts the trainer does a superb job of encouraging everyone to dig a little deeper and get out of their respective comfort zone. At the same time, they remind everyone to respect any injuries, etc and to modify as required.
From the franchise owners (Melissa and Irving) to the support staff, all are very inviting, helpful and encouraging. They are always available prior to the start of class assisting those that need help with the check-in process, shoes, bike adjustments, etc.
This CycleBar location has a real community feeling to it. Following class everyone is congratulating each other (for surviving). And on certain nights, following the last class (which is known as Happy Hour) complimentary wine and beer are available. This just further helps to encourage more of a community/social feel.
Lastly, the nice thing about CycleBar is there are no memberships; just pay for the classes as you go. There are also packages of classes available which helps make it more cost effective. If you're looking to energize your exercise routine (or start one), I highly recommend checking out this CycleBar. All you need to do is show up. They provide shoes, towels, water bottle and water. Be prepared to work hard and have fun doing it.Helpful 67Thanks 0Love this 63Oh no 0 - 215236266Sep 6, 2017
What a fun addition to my current workout routine! I've been into lifting weights lately and have found myself lacking in the cardio department and CycleBar definitely helped me burned some calories. It was my first time trying a class and every staff member was so helpful. Julie led an amazing class--I already know I won't be able to walk for the next couple of days. I've been to a few generic spin classes before but I loved how CycleBar incorporates arms and abs for a comprehensive full body workout.
The facility is so clean and modern and got me pumped up for class. I ended up buying 3 classes for $29 (new rider special) and I got an extra ride for free... what a steal! I definitely recommend CycleBar if you feel like mixing up your workouts.Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0 - Kayte L.Pottstown, PA06Sep 18, 2022

As a cycle instructor at a big box gym I am always looking for the latest and greatest in workouts. I've visited this location but it has been a while so I ventured here one Sunday with a run bud for a workout (plus brunch at Penne after - it's only right on a Sunday Funday!!) We did the connect class on a Sunday with Jorge. He was super personable and friendly!! Love their water service, you can get filtered water super cold on tap or sparkling. Class was great, pumping music and challenging drills. He ended up letting us see the leaderboard towards the end of class and me and my girlfriend were top females in the class! It was fun and a nice little healthy competition. So fun when you can do that with your girlfriends, right? Anyway, super enjoyed this and love being in the participant seat every once in a while. If I lived closer I'd join more often. They are always doing specials as well but they are super text happy so just be aware if they have your info they will hit you up. I'll be back! Check it out if you are in need of something different with sweet jams! It's summertime fine time!!
