Management appears to have changed & turned around this salon. I've been here twice & had Karen do my hair. I've gotten a haircut, blowout, highlights & a glaze done to my hair & the work done was expertly done & exactly what I wanted. Karen definitely knows what she is doing. They sell Paul Mitchell products which I am not a fan of. I would definitely return as I have had great results at this place!

I went in this morning to just get a quick dry cut and was told by Karen Lakely and the other woman that was working that New Jersey State law and the state board prohibits cutting hair in a salon without first washing it. I just finished researching and asking several professional hair stylists and NO SUCH THING EXISTS. Their sign said a cut and blow is $21 and I was charged $36. The women also decided to try to use insecurity tactics to encourage further sales by pointing out my grays. While this did not not work I did not appreciate it one bit. The cut itself is nice but the shiesting of charges, lies, and preying on possible insecurities was rude and unprofessional. Enjoy the extra charge to my credit card because rest assured neither my family nor myself will EVER step foot in there again.

Definitely a good place for a hair cut but def not the place to get any sort of color done.
I had aurora highlight my hair. She didn't really seem to speak great English and wasn't too friendly. She charged me for a partial highlight total package, even though I told her I just had my haircut last week and didn't need a haircut but she insisted I needed a "trim." In which she went over a few spots of hair and took maybe a centimeter off.
She didn't seem to understand what I had wanted with the highlights... I had said I wanted everything to blend and do like a balayage and she instead put a ridiculous golden color on my roots (my roots are dark brown) but did it about an inch away from the scalp, so it came out super streaky and orange.
Before we started I had expressed my concern about having streaky hair and she told me she would blend everything. After it was all said and done, she dried my hair out a bunch of spray in it that made it greasy made faces at my roots and told me to use purple shampoo!!! My total cost?... $150 For something I absolutely hate.
By the way, I also had an appt and had to wait about 20 minutes because she was running behind.
All and all I really love this place for haircuts and I take my son here for his but I will NOT be coloring my hair here anymore and I'll be sure to not tell others to so either.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike P.Port Murray, NJ03Apr 1, 2017First to Review
Guy was giving my daughter highlights and was looking on youtube to see how to do it, turned her hair orange. Started cutting my wife's hair without her permission. Idiots cost me hundreds of dollars to fix their f-ups. Tried contacting owner and he will not even respond. Never again!
