I have been a member at a few Curves locations in the area, but the Piedmont Curves is the best! The trainer, Julie, is very good! She is always making sure people are using the machines properly. I have learned more about how to use the machines than I have at any other location. They have all of the machines and they do switch the order of the machines around a lot, which is nice!
An added bonus are the daily games they have (word scramble, trivia, etc.) that allow you earn Curves dollars towards T-shirts and other merchandise.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - dj pie b.Oakland, CA1847Aug 3, 2009
i love the Piedmont Curves. the Curves workout is very easy to tailor to your own level; you can work out really hard and max out the aerobic aspect of it, or take it more slowly and concentrate on muscle work instead.
this Curves in particular is pleasant to go to; the morning crew of regulars are very nice, some are chatty, which makes the time pass. the space is very clean and tidy, and provides fresh towels and a cubby to stow your coat and keys in. Julie, the owner, is a really great person, incredibly patient and fun to talk to.
this Curves has an RFID tag system that tracks your workout intensity and range of motion, and lets you check your progress and weak areas at the end of each workout, as well as how many calories you burned. you don't have to use this system, but i highly recommend it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - solell s.Oakland, CA36674Nov 17, 2012
I decided to try curves for a week and really enjoyed the first 2 times because I don't need any imput from the staff and while apathatic the staff was friendly, however the 3rd time I tried to work out I drove over in the rain 35 minutes before their 1PM closing and found the door locked with no explanation. I won't be joining this curves. Being closed between 1-3 was a definite downside but random and erratic hours defeat the whole concept of regular workouts.

They need to post their hours. Four times I've driven over to find the doors locked. The music needs updating, and louder so you can hear it over the conversations that take place. Love the ladies, like the owner, and location.

Most comfortable environment for a work out! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. No need to be intimidated by the perfect figures like at mainstream gyms!

I was a member of Curvesw years ago in Vegas. The Piedmont Curves puts my previous experience to shame! First of all the trainer, Julie is what really makes the place special. When you come in as a new client she will throughly review your history and objectives and then walk-thru every machine with you, until you are completely comfortable and familiar with proper techniques. On your weekly visits, she will great you warmly by name (Amazingly she remembers EVERYONE'S name). While you are working-out she remains on the floor to check people's progress and technique, as well as providing a really supportive and friendly atmosphere. One of the things I really appreciate is that she will come over and quietly mention any slight adjustments that you may need to make while you are working on a specific machine. She is really encouraging and has a knack for catering to each person's level and their objectives. She has even assisted me in nutritional advice. I would pay extra just to work with her alone!....I burn approx. 400 calories in a half hour....You can't beat it!!

Julie is GREAT! This is an excellent little gym. In the brief time I've been going (2 months) I've felt fit and lost some weight. The workout is quick, the atmosphere is friendly and non-competitive, and the monthly fees are reasonable. What more could you ask for in a gym? Join today!
