We happened upon this place through a Groupon deal when I was looking for a nice place in the area to have lunch with my fiancee and some friends. I was definitely annoyed when we got there and it was closed on a Monday despite Yelp saying that it was open on Mondays.
Still... the service, home made wine and food was so great when we did end up going that I didn't want to take away any stars. As it turns out, our wonderful server Yogi explained that they recently started closing on Mondays and will reopen again in June when the backyard is also opened up. It's a cozy restaurant with a whole back room that can't be seen upon entering. We had the primavera pizza and Margherita pizza. Primavera was definitely the best.
My fiancee also ordered a chicken parmigiana that was not included in the groupon. It was delicious! And they were sweet enough to split it onto two plates even though it was one order. The homemade wine was a Merlot that they had just opened and it was DELICIOUS. So good in fact that we bought a bottle before we left to take home with us. I definitely recommend this place and I will be returning soon. -

Redeemed an Amazon Local voucher here* for a sampling of their menu of pizza and "Calabrian soul food". Everything was satisfying, and the decor adds to the experience. Service was friendly enough at a slow weekend lunch hour (gladly they don't deem it brunch).
*The staffer was clueless when we called to confirm they accepted the voucher and asked that WE call THEM back in a half hour, but alright...

You can feel the love of the owner to this restaurant when you stepped into it. You are surrounded by numerous objects on the walls and the ceiling. There was a table celebrating a birthday and the staff did the normal thing to carryout a piece of cake with candle and sang the birthday song. What made this place special was the owner also pull the line with the cow bells hanging from the ceiling to make a series of bell rings for the celebration.....cute!
Let talk about food.....
Wine - Thanks to Yelpers and ordered the house wine and it was really nice! - 4 stars, will order again
Bread - The basket had two different loaves of bread and both were really good. Came with a dish of olive oil with herb and also a dish of butter (nice butter). Did not have any problem when requesting balsamic vinegar to spice up the olive oil - 4 stars
Appetizer - Octopus salad ($15) - large portion for appetizer, octopus was tender and salad was fresh - 4 stars
Pizza - House pizza ($20 for 12 inch) - crust had a nice texture, crunchy and chewy at the same time - 4 stars
Pasta - Cavatelli Formaggio e Pistacchio ($17) - homemade, small portion. I was not crazy about this but my daughter loved it - 3 stars
Soup - ginger carrot soup ($8 for a large bowl) - hot and really yummy, could not taste ginger though - 4 stars, will order again
Dessert - ordered the only choice, cheesecake cone ($8) - very unique, creamy cheese, sweet n chewy cones - 4 stars, will order again
Cappuccino ($4) - pretty good - 3 stars
Definitely will come back again and try other dishes. -

From the outside you would think it is nothing special, but this place is amazing! They have home made pasta especially my favorite the homemade gnocchi! The appetizer with the different cheeses and meats is great. Most of all what makes this restaurant so special is that they treat you like family the service is great! They will go above and beyond to make all your requests happen! The bread and olive oil is addicting! You must try the HOMEMADE WINE! I fell in love! I am going to return next month even though its a 35 minute drive. FREE PARKING LOT!

If you sit down for dinner they start u off with some bread & olive oil, the bread is nothing special but the olive oil is pretty good & together it's even better.
Appetizer tried the Calamari Fritti , great taste not greasy at all & the dipping sauce is delicious.
Caprese Bufala , is amazing huge piece great for sharing. Love how the mozzarella practically melts in your mouth.
Next we tried the Shrimp Parmigiana hero , this was really good a nice sandwich with plenty of shrimp , cheese & sauce.
The Penne ala Vodka was great , nice tasting sauce. Also good are the Rigatoni pasta with sausage or in Bolognese sauce.
On the specials I tried the Fresh Fettuccine with spinach in truffle oil , delicious homemade pasta nice tasting sauce.
On The pizza's The 4 Stagioni pizza nice pie all the ingredients go well together , ham, olives , mushrooms there is a lot of stuff on this so very filing but very good.
Calabrese is also very tasty , good ingredients tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella cheese, sausage, fresh black olives, porcini, nduja and oregano all go great together.
The House pie Cucino a Modo Mio also 12" was amazing comes with homemade mozzarella cheese, pistachios, burrata, speck and extra virgin olive oil another heavy one but really good & has become one of my fav's.
There never seems to be room for dessert , but I was finally able to try the Tortufa ice cream , delicious passion fruit & cherry ice cream with icing & some chocolate on the outer parts really good dessert.
Nice atmosphere , reasonable prices & good service Love the fact that this place is close by , so far it has not disappointed me & chances are I will continue to come by specially for the Pizza.New restaurant in the area & I was excited to try specially with it being brick oven style Pizza. … New restaurant in the area & I was excited to try specially with it being brick oven style Pizza.7/7/2013 Previous review
This place is interesting for a quick bite there is pizzeria style seating upfront , regular restaurant service in the back plus they have a small bar area.
The decor here certainly catches your attention quickly the walls are filled w all kinds of pots , plates & interesting Italian inspired objects pretty cool to check out reminded me a bit of some restaurants in Italy.
Once seated we started w a Peroni beer for our drink , love Peroni's & here they were nice & cold.
For our main meal we tried the Primavera pizza 12" size perfect for sharing. This comes with tomatoes , mozzarella , arugula & prosciutto , this pie was delicious nice taste & crust.
Interesting decor , nice service & decent prices.
We enjoyed our pizza , really nice to have a decent new place in the neighborhood I will definitely be returning here often. Read more -

This one star is for the bad things these people did.. but this restaurant was freaking amazing. It was literally the best food outside of italy. My husband and I were looking forward to going back on my next trip to NYC.. but a week before, low and behold FBI swarmed the place.. le sigh...

So it's friday and getting ready to check out the mets at citifield with the familia. So of course i yelp and find this little hidden gem. From the carpaccio octopus salad appetizer, to the ravioli with ricotta and spinach, to the Italian cheesecake. All were amazing. My son enjoyed his homemade pizza. My daughter loved her penne pasta. And the misses could not stop talking about her pesto ravioli. We all left happy and content. The price was good for the quality of ingredients and time that went into each entree.

Really nice staff, they try to help and answer questions but have a little trouble with the English. That's cool though, at least you know you're getting authentic food! I had the sausage and peppers with pene pasta in marinara sauce. Really good flavor! I've never had home made pasta, and the menu doesn't specify that it is, but I could definitely tell that it's not from a box! Nice texture and taste. I also had a piece of margarita pizza, I wasn't too crazy about it but not bad.
The interior is nice, interesting signs on the walls, rustic decor.
Great place to get a quick bite, or if you're feeling romantic, the sit down dining area looks cozy.
Good food, good service, reasonable prices, what more can you ask for? -

Food was good and got a great deal with the groupon for 4 people, just be careful when you are ready to leave and get the check. They will charge you tax on the full price of the meal, even though it's supposedly 50% off. That would have to be to get some of that money back in their pocket.
Imagine buying an outfit at Macy's at 50% off and then them telling you, "Oh, I know it's on sale and we will give it to you for the sale price, but we're gonna charge you tax as if you didn't get it on sale, ok?"
Huh? Actually no, not ok at all .... -

This place is pretty damn cool. First, the place doesn't look like much from the outside...we thought that it was a take out pizza place...but then you walk down the hallway and you're suddenly transported to a place in the Tuscan country side. It's packed with pots, ceramic everything, woven baskets of all shapes and sizes, cow bells, you name it. The tables are all polyed wood tops and they have two tables that have wagon wheels as the backs (so very cool!)
So yeah, I just spent all this time just talking about the decor...it's impressive!
Ok, time for the food. We ordered the calabrese antipasto. It was decent. The lasagne was decent. The namesake pizza, now that was awesome!!! . The crust was perfect. The cheese melted in my mouth. The speck was authentic. I will definitely go back for the pizza.
And the espresso. It was very good, and came with biscotti.
I didn't care for their tiramisu at all.
Oh, I almost forgot, their flatware was very unique and clearly hand painted/splotched...
I also have to say our waiter, who looked Guyanese, sounded like a total guido! I thought that was very different and pretty cool....I'm sure he's got a few stories.
He told us that in the summer time they'll be opening a small beer garden. I'm looking forward to checking it out. -

Thanks Yelp! Took my sister and niece out to the Hall of Science and so glad we decided to try this for our leisurely and delicious lunch a few blocks away. Sweet, charming ambiance and attentive service in a truly unique restaurant. The food is well-made, the pizzas were original-pistachio, speck and ricotta--mmmm, my sister had the lamb which was spectacular and my niece was in heaven with the Fettuccine Alfredo.
