I expected that several OC restaurants shut down in the off-season, but I was surprised at just how many! Fortunately, the Crabcake Factory was ready and willing to serve this California expat. Don't let the fact that this is a micro-chain of three locations deter you.
You probably know that Bloody Marys are a "thing" here, and part of the reason is that they're GOOD! And you don't have to get the crazy ones with all the food piled on top. Basic ones are just $10 with spicy pickled green beans, Old Bay on the rim and enough vodka that you can taste it.
Crab Bisque was amazing and a good value at $9 per cup. Chunks of crab everywhere. I've had dozens of Conch Fritters ($15) in The Bahamas over the years, so I can tell you that these are authentic and good. Three of us went with Crabcake Sandwiches ($23) which were great, as expected. Even the tomato slices were great. Mom opted for the Crabcake Platter ($24) with double green beans as her sides. The beans tasted fresh, crisp and garlicky...delicious. They didn't miss the details. Even the kettle chips were good. We were stuffed and had to enjoy those at home! Literally not a bad bite in the whole meal. Great service from Daniella.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dan W.West Grove, PA01Oct 30, 2023
I cannot recommended this place.
Ambiance - It was so noisy that it was rattling my nerves a bit. Perhaps if I had not sat in the main dining room, things would have been better. However, this place is an echo chamber with all the plexiglas installed. It was near impossible to have a conversation. The look of the plexiglas does not give much of nice dining feel either.
Food - Food was bad. My wife and I each had the Jumbo crabcake. Crabcake tasted fair (not much flavor) and there was a lot of crab in it, but it was served somewhere just above room temperature. I like my food hot and it was not. The fries I had were cold. My wife's mac and cheese was cold. At least the one thing that was supposed to be cold, the cole slaw, was actually cold. However, it was in a plastic container so pre-made and it tasted old so not more than one bite was taken.
Service - Our server was good so we left her a decent tip. That was the only good thing about the experience.
However, dropping as much money as we did on this meal was highly disappointing for what we received. I would have not been happy at 25% of the price. This was by far our worst meal in OC during our trip. We won't be back to this place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ken M.MD, MD309423104Oct 29, 2023
I decided to see what all the hype was about and stopped into the original Crabcake Factory during the off-season in the middle of the afternoon for a bit of lunch. It was almost empty so the service was quick.
This place is famous for it's Bloody Mary's and crabcakes and the Bloody Mary menu had a decent variety of different drinks. I took the Crab Bloody Mary thinking it would have a little crab and Old Bay. The glass was filled with crab and a little beverage at the bottom. Not what I was expecting but I enjoyed the crab. I would have liked a little more Bloody Mary and a little less crab.
The crabcake was good but certainly not the best I've ever had. To be fair, it is outside of crab season so that might be part of the reason it was all the wonderful.
All in all, it was an OK meal for an extremely high price but eating out is getting more and more expensive. If you're in Ocean CIry, you might want to try this place out but I wouldn't go out of my way.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 26, 20241 check-in
Well this is our first time visit here from San Diego, CA. and we did the boardwalk, the next thing here is crabcakes, I had crabby cheese fries, my wife had shrimp /fries and our friend had Quesadillas with crab, all very good and tasty , well prepared. Service was excellent, waitress was very friendly, the dining area was nice with a sport's bar looks. So if you're visiting here in Ocean city, Maryland, stop by .

I've been to Ocean City for twenty plus years now. I've seen the Crabcake Factory numerous times and always said I would stop there. This weekend I took a chance and I must say I wasn't disappointed. The crabcakes were exceptional. So much, I went there three times in one weekend. Everything was delicious. Even the breakfast. The scrambled eggs with crab meat and cheese were plentiful and tasty. Oh yeah, the beef brisket was also tender and well seasoned. The service was also good. The staff was very courteous. This is definitely a win. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped in with a party of 8 for breakfast while in the area. I didn't realize Crabcake Factory did breakfast until we were staying in the area and saw their sign outside. When we looked at the menu- it was quite extensive and looked great.
Wasn't able to get photos of everything we got- happens when you are with 4 hungry children. Started off with their beignets which everyone loved especially the kids. Highly recommend these!! True to real beignets if you have ever visited New Orleans.
Variety of breakfast options were chosen at the table from their Big Daddy breakfast to the Eggs Benedict with a Crabcake. Everyone enjoyed their food, but it was a hearty breakfast so prepared to go hungry and leave FULL! They have small breakfast options too- avocado toast, bagel sandwiches.... They also have a kids menu which was helpful for our smaller guys.
Plenty of breakfast drinks to be had only bummer is they were out of champagne so no mimosas for us that morning.
We got there right when they opened for breakfast and were sat right away but as we were leaving there was a line and a wait so I would recommend going early.... They open at 9am.
Solid breakfast option when in OCMD- who knew? Not me!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Oct 7, 2023
We had a reasonable lunch with the kids. The colossal Crabcake, the one with 100% crab, was very good. The crab pretzel was good. The burger and cheesesteak were hits with the kids. Fries were crispy and tasty. Prices were okay except for the crab which was $34 for a 5 ounce crab cake with fries and a small side salad.
Overall it was pretty good. Nothing amazing but solid.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wendy C.Hensley, AR565Apr 7, 2024
First time to the crabcake factory but we vacation many times a year along the coast and always seek out crab cakes. These were delicious! We had the crab dip and it was probably the best we've ever had. We split double lump crab cake. It was so yummy, tasty and full of crab! Definitely be back!

Husband and I came for lunch and had the friendliest server ever. Crab mac and cheese is just loaded with delicious lump crab and we were so happy we couldn't understand why it wasn't more crowded.
One night after unpacking and being drop dead tired, we went for a late dinner and the bartender was just as friendly as our prior server. The crab mac and cheese was a little dried out, but likely our fault, we did call ahead to make sure the kitchen was still open, but end of the night food is never going to be as spectacular as normal business hours food.
We will absolutely go back again and again. Damn that mac and cheese is SO good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
