Cotter Barber

I took my 4 year son for a haircut today with Jay. I showed him a few photos of what we were looking to get done. He was extremely detailed and kept my son entertained at the same time. We are so happy with his big kid haircut!

The salon is very clean and nice. Everyone was pleasant including the front desk staff.

Will definitely be back to see Jay again.

Let me be clear in my review.

I think there are far superior barbershops in the neighborhood that provide more consistent service at a more affordable price.

I have enjoyed hair cuts here in the past but the folks who cut my hair never seem to stay at the shop for very long so I have had to go elsewhere to find a place that can keep someone I like for an extended period of time.

Call ahead if you do decide to visit; I recently walked to the shop for a haircut around 9 am and the place is closed. It is frustrating when the hours here are not up to date.

They are a combo of barber and coffee shop.
I was not surprised by their green-ish brand design.
Anyway, it's a nice place for a haircut and great to ended with a cop of joe.

- Incredible haircut. Was listened to when it came to my exact preference. Executed to perfection. You feel great leaving this place.

- Was called a few hours before my appointment and asked if I could make an earlier appointment as they'd double booked. They were very apologetic and this was fine with my schedule so no big deal. However when I show up at my now earlier time slot I was informed that they had squeezed someone in and I'd have to wait. I ended waiting until the time of my original appointment -- how ironic. For a $55 appointment only haircut place they didn't seem value my time. Could've at least knocked $5 this expensive haircut for giving me the run around

Price: $55 is expensive when you need to get a haircut every 4-6 weeks. But hey this seems to be the average in Williamsburg. If I want a cheaper haircut I commute to another neighborhood.

Been getting cut here for the last 2 years. Joe at the Graham Ave. location is incredibly talented and does a great job every time. It's a cool shop with a great vibe. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Brooklyn. I'm moving to queens and I'm still going to make my way over here to get my cuts. Thank you!

Pro Tip - The Iced Coffee is the best in town.

Evan is a great barber and this place definitely is top notch if you're looking for a great barber everyone here leaves happy! I have had some hack jobs recently from places in my neighborhood thought I would try something a little higher end and I was definitely pleased with the final result. If you go there see Evan; he cut my hair I would definitely go there for him again! They offer coffee while waiting which is a bonus!

This coffee shop / barber shop is the epitome of Brooklyn cool without all the obnoxious wanna-be trust fund "hipsters".

The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the drinks are on point. I ordered a perfect matcha latte with oat milk - 1.) they actually had oat milk unlike in Manhattan, 2.) there was no added sugar to the matcha, 3.) flavor of the matcha was not overpowered by milk. My friends ordered cortados which were also excellent.

If you go on a nice day, go past the barbers and sit in the intimate yard space outside. It was empty when we went except for one other person reading. Feels like you aren't in Brooklyn (or Manhattan) anymore!

I work at Dunne's Polemost Wine & Liquor Store (recently moved to 591 Manhattan). After we moved, Brian (Cotter's owner) came in to introduce himself to our staff and after a few minutes, offered us complimentary hair cuts. I really appreciate that and recognize it as a great local business helping another, which is needed during this time.

As for my cut, I couldn't be happier with Evan the barber. I just wanted a trim to help encourage healthy growth. After a few minutes explaining how I often get my hair cut, Evan took the time to recognize my hair pattern and growth and took what I suggested, used his own expertise and gave me top notch service. Will be back!

Ryan Davis is my new go to. Been exceptionally happy with him since I found him at Cotter (Graham). I usually go from barber to barber since most of my cuts feel like they're on a similar level but I always walk away with a cut I want to show off with him.
