Came here to study on a Saturday morning/afternoon. This Cosi location offers friendly customer service, and there was no wait. It's a little pricey, but considering its location in downtown DC that's expected. I had a turkey club sandwich (added pesto spread), a bag of chips, and a medium coffee for $14. I'll consider coming back here since it was a great study-spot.

Solid lunch. The soup was really good. I had a panini, u unfortunately, they were out of brie, but they substituted another cheese. The bread was flavorful. My hubby had a pretty amazing salad.
The drawbacks are that it is so popular lines are long and seats are at a premium. And, what line to enter is very confusing. But the folks are nice and try to help you thru it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Cosi is a great lunch spot to visit if you're in this area. Their soups, salads and sandwiches are filling and freshly prepared right in front of you. Their flatbread is homemade and made every few minutes in their brick oven.
One thing to note: Sadly they took away the bowls where the bread ends would end up. I always enjoyed snacking on one or two while I ordered my food.
The soups are always delicious and change daily. You can always count on chicken noodle and some type of chili. Their salads are HUGE and if you can't find a pre-made one on their menu you can make one with your own choices. They also have rice bowls but I haven't tried them yet. The chicken adobo looks delicious!
My go-to is either the chicken pesto sandwich or the chicken tbm. You get a bag of chips or veggies as a side with any sandwich or salad. Note: you can also make your own and/or have them heat up any of their cold sandwiches too.
Sandwiches are a bit on the expensive side for a small sandwich usually ranging between $6-7 and a large will run you about $10-12. If you add a drink things can easily get into the $13-15 range.
However, the quality of the food is always great and the employees are usually very nice (unless your slowing down the sandwich line - then you better beware haha).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Cosi offers a wide selection of salads, soups, wraps and sandwiches. Gluten free and other allergens are well marked on the menu boards. We stopped in just for a quick cup of soup and coffee to warm up from a cold day of site seeing.... We choose tomato basil. It was delicious. Well spiced, creamy but with chunks of tomatoes. I ordered a cup, but wish I'd had the bowl as it just hit the perfect spot.

Typical cosi location except this one is laid out poorly. You order a sandwich at one end, pay at the other, then go back into the hoard of people ordering and picking up to claim your sandwich.
The sandwiches here aren't very good, but I do like the thin bread. They charge $9 or so for a grown-up hot pocket (I've only had the hot sandwiches, pesto chicken or buffalo).
Not somewhere I'd go if I was buying lunchHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Donna C.Lafayette, CO67470334Dec 9, 2018
Go-to spot for reasonable lunch when in DC. Reasonable cost, many choices. Decent amount of seating indoors.
Soups are great. Salads and sandwiches are good to. Sandwiches on flat bread. Not a fan of the pizza - also on flat bread but it doesn't seem to bake well and the pizza seems too cheesy and greasy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 17, 2017
The sandwich line here moves surprisingly fast. The salad line does not.
Half size salads here are plenty for me. Half size sandwiches are not.
Why does the only side option with the sandwiches have to be a sad small bag of plain old potato chips? At least Panera offers the choice of bread or apple.
The one thing I am a fan of is the mojito lemonade.
Good luck getting a seat at lunchtime here during the week.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Danielle S.Washington, DC12183104Feb 13, 2020
Customer service e is great. I ordered a bowl online and was not able to pick it up until several hours later and the staff offered to make me a new bowl. They also allowed me to customize the bowl. The Adobe bowl is very goo. The warm roasted vegies and bbq chicken have a great flavor . You really taste the Adobe seasoning.

I like this Cosi location - been coming here for years and I've always had great service. During the lunch rush it can be very busy so I tend to come in later. They do offer a $6 pizza and drink option after 2 p.m...totally worth it. My favorite is the chicken margherita! I enjoy other lunch items - sandwiches (buffalo bleu) and the salads (Cosi salad ). I tried one of the lunch bowls and wasn't a fan. I love the xando blend coffee!

I traveled to Washington, DC today to visit the new African American Museum, and instead of grabbing a convenient bite to eat from a food truck, my crew and I ventured to Cosi. This restaurant reminded me of Panera, but with more of a variety. Flat bread sandwiches, soup, salad, bowls and pizza, which is stiff competition with &pizza, located right across the street! My meal was delicious. I had an Adobo chicken bowl. Although I am not a fan of spicy foods, the bowl was so full of flavor that I muscled through the spiciness of it. The chicken is where the kick came from.
Their bowls are served with flatbread (a choice of white or wheat). The flatbread helped me to bare the setting of the spices. If I ever visit DC again, I will be sure to try something else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2016
This is my favorite Cosi especially after the one in DuPont Circle closed. The staff is always friendly snd the half salad is advertised properly upfront! I come here at least weekly even though it id a 15-20 min walk. It is worth it. My favorite is the Signature salad with pistachios, grapes, gorgonzola, chicken, and I add extra ingredients like avocado and cranberries! Every salad comes with your choice of either a bread, chips, or apples and bananas.
