      Cook Automotive treats customers well IF they know it will benefit them. Other than that, they have no issue being rude to/ ripping people off. My grandmother paid to get the minor issues on my car had fixed on my birthday. The employees at Cook told her my two front tires should be replaced, so she paid for two new ones. Less than six weeks later I was going 70 mph on the highway and my tire almost instantly went flat. I had no idea why until I had to pay $200.00 for a tow truck to take me to my destination. The next day my aunt drove me to Upper Lakes Tire in Grayling, Michigan, where I was provided with excellent service. The man who helped me looked at my tire to see if we could patch it rather than buy a new one. He saw the cause of my problem instantly. There was a manufacturing error at Cooks and not only was the tire installed incorrectly, but there was a wire on the inside that caused my flat tire on the highway. I then bought a new tire at Upper Lakes ($95.00) so that I could drive my car back to South Lyon the next day and show the employees at Cook my flat tire that they had installed less than six weeks ago, with the paperwork from Upper Lakes that in print stated that it was a manufacturing/ installment error. Mike (employee at Cook) did not seem to care as he was being rude to my grandmother and using sarcasm. He insisted on keeping my flat tire over night until his partner, Austin, came into work the next day so they could "come up with a solution". My grandmother and I did not receive a call the next day, so we called them. This led to Austin telling us that we were lying about the situation. He accused me of "driving on my flat tire the rest of my trip up north after if happened" and basically said I caused all of the damage done to the tire and I was not being truthful. I'm sorry, but any reputable company would understand the situation at hand. I am young, driving late at night, was forced to immediately, yet barely be able to get on the side of the road once my tire started going flat, call roadside assistance and have them find someone who could tow me 22 miles ($200.00) around 9 at night on a Saturday, pay almost $100.00 for a new tire, and Cook not only wouldn't refund me for the ONE tire that THEY told my grandmother she should have replaced my two front tires in the first place, but there was proof in the paperwork I brought them from Upper Lakes Tire stating what caused the tire to pop. I could not believe how rude Mike and Austin were. I understand that they are a local, respected company. My grandmother used to talk about that company as if it were the best thing since sliced bread. She has had several cars worked on there throughout the years, and just spent about $1,300.00 on my car at the very end of June, and they had the audacity to say we made all of this up when I have picture proof of the tow truck driver pulling my car onto his truck, a statement from a different automotive shop, and a loyal customer (my grandmother). I wish I had kept my two previous front tires so that this could have been avoided. I understand that the $300.00 this cost my family is not the end of the world, but I'm not sure why Cook felt that a $100.00 tire was enough of an issue to them for them to feel the need to say we were lying, keep the tire overnight to get rid of the evidence that it was a faulty tire, and not refund us for it. I get that people make mistakes and whoever installed it probably wasn't trying to cause all of this and the company that manufactures that brand of tire did not mean for there to be damage in the "bead area" or have a wire sticking out.

      Just want to give a shout out to Cooks Automotive. They are a local business for us, we have 4 vehicles that have had some issues at some point & time. We have always gone to our local car dealership in New Hudson that we always loved, was always a hometown feeling, sent great coupons to have maintenance & oil changes done so that is where we always went. That is until a conglomerate took them over changed the stores atmosphere, policy's, staff, & maintenance charges skyrocketed, & sometimes vehicle was kept for days and or weeks at a time, and you just became a number to them.

      So, we looked elsewhere a few years ago and found Cooks Automotive. I have to say whether it be standard maintenance, engine/tire troubles, they have taken very good care of us & have fixed every issue we have had thus far, in a couple of instances, prices even came out a little lower than what was initially quoted. I had a receipt for some dealership work I had previously done that was again having an issue & Cooks advised me to take back to them as it was still under their 1 year warranty and shouldn't cost me anything, that there is pure honesty, they didn't have to do that.

      Anytime I have called, they are professional, care about the issue, are very fair in their pricing, keep you posted as to the status, and makes your vehicle a top priority to get the work done as quickly as possible. I have had 2 tows there now, I call, tow truck driver delivers to them, and I always get an immediate phone call with what's going on & they also send out monthly coupon flyers which is very helpful.

      I even went there one night late in the evening after they had already closed to drop off my vehicle & keys, my husband was going to pick me up but was running late, a lady was inside finishing closing for the day, she came out and greeted me, I explained my husband was coming to get me, she said you are not waiting in the dark cold by yourself, she let me in the lobby, took my paperwork and pulled my vehicle in one of the stalls for the night and said they would look at first thing in the morning, honestly I was blown away as she didn't have to do any of that.

      We have received nothing but "5 Star" Service from all the Staff & Work performed on our vehicles at Cooks Automotive, we highly recommend & they will get all our business going forward.

      Our car needed and alignment and new tires. Without a second thought, we went to Cook Auto because I trust them to give me honest answers and to do great work. We have had many repairs made here and have been happy with the work and customer service. For our tires we were given a recommendation and an estimate. We scheduled and appointment and the work was done quickly. If you have the option to wait for your service, they have a comfortable and very clean waiting area.

      I left the dealership after being told i needed to pay $400 for oil change service and diagnostic for noises under the car...I took it to Cook's on a recommendation and they diagnosed and repaired for $200. Same day! So nice and reliable...I will always bring my cars here! Thank you!

      I went there because a friend recommended them. After looking it over, they gave me a long list of things that needed fixing, and I could only afford part of the repairs so I got done what I could afford.
      I was told that also, the serpentine belt was bad, struts were leaking, among other things. After a friend looked at the serpentine belt, it was fine. I just took it somewhere closer for the struts, and they said they are fine. They inspected it, rotated the tires, and said it's good to go.
      I would have been charged almost five hundred for struts at Cooks, and another three hundred for the serpentine belt.
      Is that good business? You decide.

      I've used Cook Auto for many years and on many cars. What I like most is that they are honest. There have been times I've taken a vehicle in and expected that it needed things, only to have their technicians advise that a repair was not needed. I trust when they tell me to have something done, because they are quick to tell me when nothing is needed. It's the only place I'd take my car.

      Best customer Service in South Lyon. Yesterday afternoon I had a flat tire on my rental car. The AAA service vehicle couldn't get to me for 90 minutes. Chad saw that I was in a jam & he spoke to Enterprise then had the tire changed for me. Chad & Jeremy were kind & very fast & I was on my way in less than 30 minutes. I will continue to take my vehicles to Cook Automotive in South Lyon.

      I'm witnessing quite possibly the best customer service I have ever seen; some 5-star resorts included. While I've only had my vehicle's oil changed here twice, I would bring my vehicle here for diagnostics and service without any hesitation. I've heard them thoroughly explain (in laymen terms) what is going on with someone's vehicle, what needs to be done to resolve it, and an estimated time. They are extremely professional and customer conscious. When something happens to someone's car it is usually costly and annoying to deal with - they handle every personality with care.

      I have had a good experience each time we used Cook Automotive. The employees are professional and polite from what I saw.

      After getting new tires all around, we were told it would be a good idea to have the car checked for a front end alignment. They referred us to Cook's. After review, Cook's they felt my car didn't need a front end alignment.

      Now my brakes are grinding. They can't get me in until Friday. They did get to my car on Friday as they said they would, and made all the necessary repairs as discussed. The brakes are working great now!
