Commonwealth Bank employees are always friendly & helpful. I've been a customer for over 25 years because they're willing to always go that extra mile. Good old fashioned hometown banking at it's best.

i Joined Commonwealth primarily because many of the branches have coin counters and I have a hobby where I search rolls of coins for silver, older coins, etc. Admittedly, I used the counters extensively over about a year - usually cashing in a couple of thousand or so a week. I mainly used the branch on Midland Trail in Shelbyville, but went to a few other branches occasionally to give the staff there a break. The staff had been very nice to me and I would bring them donuts and patiently wait for all other customers to be waited on if I needed assistance with the counter. About 2 months ago, I was called into the branch manager's office and told that the compliance officer said I couldn't use any machine at any branch anymore unless I switched all of my banking to Commonwealth. Since opening my account, I had steadily increased my balance, but was told my $566 wasn't enough to justify me using the counters as I had been. I was NEVER told that my use was ever a problem; and then was told I wasn't good enough of a customer to allow any further use AT ALL! If I had violated bank policy or refused to abide by any instruction of any staff members, I would understand. I was treated like a criminal and felt embarrassed to enter the bank again. I have since closed my account.

Joined this bank back in October and have been extremely dissatisfied with the "customer service" and experience I have had. It took them weeks to send me my debit card. I let that slide but since then it has been one thing after another and no one really seems to care! I feel they scammed me in regards to the things they promised when I first sat down with them and opened my account, they have not followed through with anything. I contacted the bank manager to get things straightened out and she said she would have to call me back.... which apparently means just sending an email. I will be leaving this bank ASAP. Worst banking experience of my life. Trust me, look elsewhere if you are trying to find a local bank, they are nothing but a hassle!
