Q:
Is The Colonnade open for delivery or pick-up? I can't find anything about this, and when I called, a recording said the number was either out of order or disconnected. Quarantine is difficult, but some Colonnade fried chicken sure would help!
A:
Colonnade is not open. I live next door to the owners and they were not set up to handle take out or delivery. I know it's sad, I live right behind the restaurant and I miss the smells of the fried chicken and the fresh baked rolls. Hopefully we… more

Got some veggie plates for takeout on the way home from Hartsfield-Jackson. Just the perfect southern meat and three. Homemade Mac and cheese, perfectly done black eyed peas, fried okra, collard greens with flavor. Just everything that you want if you need a southern bite. The host (Helen?) was lovely and walked through menu adjustments very patiently. I was able to pick up my order right away, even though I hit the after church lunch rush.

After being a customer for almost fifty years I am sorry to say we will not be back and I hate to write a bad review but I have to be honest. Ate there several days ago and the food was below par. Apparently it had been sitting under the warmer for a long time before being brought out.. The food was not hot. My meat was more rare then med- rare and was warm , my mashed potato gravy had a skim on top of it and when I put some on my potatoes it pored out as a clump. Husbands fried fish sandwich came with the breading soft and falling off. Friend ordered a Marian salad as an after thought and was much smaller then the ones we had. At a cost of around $8.00 it certainly was not worth it.
Did enjoy visiting with a few of the old timers though. I wish them luck but not sure how long they will continue to survive as this rate.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ed H.Raleigh, NC01Apr 3, 2024
We had a great meal tonight with 7 members of our family tonight. Marcele, our server, was very attentive & informative, meeting and aticipating all our needs.
Everyone agreed the food was exceptional and up to the Colonnade standards, from the fried chicken, pork chops, southern sides, whipped potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoe Souffle, Mac & Cheese, and the Fried chicken salad.
Yes, the menu has been updated, but what restuarant hasn't updated their menu, especially given the current price point, of beef and other more expensive entrees. I think you will be well pleasedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1947212Feb 3, 2024
The best fried chicken around. Love their sides too. Chicken livers are delicious as well as the fried shrimp. It's been around since the 40's! Must do if you're in the Cheshire Bridge area.

Always a unique and fun experience. The fried chicken is the best in Atlanta. Great comfort food with amazing friendly service. The old school Atlanta atmosphere is always fun.

It was over 2-1/2 decades since I first eaten at the colonnade. The service was great. I didn't know the old saying "it's the place for grays and the gays. I ate so good I got sleepy . The atmosphere was nice and cool. I really enjoyed myself. Class of '92.

While in the ATL, the Mrs and my mother decided they wanted to go here to get their Turkey and dressing. I opted for the Hamburger Steak with grilled onions and brown gray. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Service was good and the people watching was a bit slow on a Wednesday night. The one side that no one at the table cared for was the sweet potato soufflé. They add raisins and it created a burnt/bitter taste.

Just not what she use to be, been going for 10 years. The prices have gone through the roof in just the past 8 months. Charging 23 dollars for fried chicken is absurd. Every menu item is way overpriced, 4 dollars more dollars for about every item. Their food reminds me of the food at Baptist church in the early 90's except they want to charge you like they won a James Beard award.
It's fried chicken y'all. You've had it before; at Chick-fil-a, the gas station, grandmas. It's not the best fried chicken maybe for some people it is, but it's what your preference is. It isn't special.
My favorite thing to get here is the fried oysters, and no one in Atlanta does it better than them. Of course they didn't have them, nor the salmon croquettes. Really annoyed me the waiter didn't let me know until I was ready to order. Was afraid to know the "market" price for them. Oysters are never market priced anywhere. They are trying to disguise the disgusting amount they want to charge for oysters. Crushed my spirit though they didn't have them. I had the fish and chips and they were fine.
Mary Macs is very similar to The Colonnade but charges 13.75 for their fried chicken and 16.99 for a four piece. This kind of food and place should be accessible to all people.
This place had one of my favorite atmospheres. The old nostalgic feeling and the clientele was mostly senior. It was a magical place, loved to sit in their bar, but that magic has worn off due to greed.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Scott H.Atlanta, GA2732814Sep 14, 2023
An Atlanta classic. Solid food all around. There's a vibe in the walls that says this place has seen some exciting things. Everyone was super attentive and my drink was full the entire time. Huge platter of food for the price. I'll be back.

Good restaurant that's been open for at least 40 years. Food is good. Service is good. Place is always clean. Recommend eating here for that great comfort food craving.
