STONE CRAB!!!!! Sorry, got carried away...but seriously if you want stone crab, show up for the special on Wed and Thurs. Do I love stone crab season? YES! Do I love fighting the claw for meat? NO! They have the cracking down to a science, didn't need to do any additional work. And the mustard sauce was so good, you could taste the horseradish (FYI if you prefer more mustardy, it may not be for you.)
But I digress. We started with the shrimp cocktail and they were huge. Again, loved the cocktail sauce. Hubby had penne alla vodka with chicken (he hates most things from the sea) and it came with garlic toasty things that were so good we bought a loaf of the bread from the market...more on that soon.
Our server was awesome! He was friendly and attentive and had great suggestions. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day and the hubby couldn't stomach the seafood scent from the market (refer to above comment regarding his displeasure of most things from the sea).
After dinner I wandered in to check out the market. Cute gifts, fresh seafood, premade salads and a variety of items that made me want to throw an impromptu cocktail party. They sold the bread we had with dinner (without the garlic) and I picked up some Oreo cheesecake that was calling my name, and a few other items I can't wait to try.
Don't miss trying this place out if you get the chance, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as we did!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review - you made our day! We love to hear that we can make even those who aren't seafood lovers happy. And, yes, that bread is one of our best kept secrets and it's just so delicious. We really appreciate the feedback and hope to see you again soon.

Your response is telling a HUGE lie. My dog jumped up on the chair next to me....one time...your ignorant door man couldn't wait to show some pathetic authority he was rude and obnoxious. I would have never taken my dog to your porch on the parking lot if I thought for one minute that I was breaking your rules. I've seen other dogs sitting on people's lap at the table. If I wanted to be a bitch I would get an attorney and sue your business as my dog is a service dog as well as an emotional support dog. YOU WERE WRONG...! My husband was president of US Food Service as well as Contiential Foods in Baltimore....I know resturant rules....my dog was not near any one...your obnoxious pampas ass door man couldn't wait to act like a complete jerk. We dine out often and I NEVER take my dog anywhere that would cause a problem. We ate dinner last night at Spoto's and it was amazing as to how many dogs were sitting next to their owners...my dog stayed home. You people were rude, nasty and you lost several customers...word of mouth can really damage a business. I will not go on this site again and read you sorry excuse and tell lies...and you know damn well you are not telling the truth....you must be a democrat....!!!!!!!!! Yours
truly...!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Updated response 3/29/24: Linda, I am so sorry that we do not see eye to eye on this. We WELCOME service dogs. We are not permitted to allow Emotional Support Dogs due to a Village ordinance, which is posted on the outside of our building. Restaurants do not have to permit service animals to sit in chairs at the table. You were not refused service due to having a dog - it is because you were not in control of the dog. We wish you the best.
We do ask if your animal is a service animal. It does not need a tag or collar or vest. However, we are an establishment selling and serving food; service dogs are welcome here, but no animals are ever permitted to be in a chair or have their face on the table. Restaurants do not have to allow a service animal to sit in a chair or at the table. These are not our rules - these are service animal guidelines. No one ever said that your dog was misbehaving. The first time the dog was in the chair, we let it go. The second time, we made the decision to ask you to leave before you had the chance to order food - causing nothing but further upset and a more complicated situation for all parties. When you have an assistive animal in public, Florida law requires that your animal must be under your control at all times. You were absolutely not refused service because of your dog, but because it was in the chair more than once. I believe you when you say that you have seen people with dogs on their laps - some people have service dogs that MUST be held against their skin to detect blood sugar issues and irregular heart rates. That is their private business and we do not ask them about that - they have a right to their privacy. We are so sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis (and the manager also gave you his sympathy while you were speaking), but it is unfortunately irrelevant to the situation. We wish you the best in your fight against breast cancer.Mar 19, 2024Previous reviewMy husband and I went to Cod & Capers yesterday for lunch like we do many times. I've noticed in the past that when people are eating outside they have a little dog with them. We had our very well behaved Papillion with us as we were out for the day. When walking up to the door, a man asked if our dog was a service dog...I said yes, and my husband went to the car to get his ID service tag to put on his collar. We were seated all the way at the end of the outdoor area facing a parking lot. I was just diagnosed with breast cancer and tears were running down my face and I immediately got ahold of myself. Unfortunately, my dog jumped up on the chair next to me and before I could take him down under the table...the door man came over to me and loudly said..."that is not a service dog, that's a emotional support dog and we don't allow those dogs here"! "I MUST TELL YOU TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE YOU ORDER YOUR LUNCH"!!!!!!! I was shocked beyond words and humiluated and embarrassed. I didn't really know the difference between an emotionally support dog and a service dog thinking that one of the same. I did not mean to break the rules...the door man was so obnoxious and rude. Little did he realize that after lunch we intended on purchasing many items as we're expecting company this weekend for a week. When I told the door man that I was just diagnosed with breast cancer...his words were..."not my problem"! He could has asked me to not allow my dog to jump on a chair...but, instead decided to be mean and cruel and lecture me...my dog NEVER BARKED or misbehaved. I've been to Cod and Capers many times and I've seen dogs on peoples laps, people with two little dogs at a time...when we were leaving a couple walked in with a huge dog that looked like a fluffy curly hair sweetheart. We will NEVER go back to Cob and Capers...I did not intentionally break their rules...they were wrong on how they treated me...so, we went to Chaney Brothers and got our case of Colossal crab meat and other things.

I pass by C&C on my way to work and have been wanting to see what they were talking about! I just happened to go on Thursday which is also stone crab night! Let's just say, I still walked out of here spending way too much for too little!!!
First off, I went with a coworker and she was minutes behind me but they won't seat you until the full party is there. Annoying but ok! She got there, we were seated and a nice waiter by the name of Jimmy walked up. He was friendly the whole night with the cringey exception of referring to us as girls! I literally hate that shxt. At this big age sir, we are considered ladies. I did not correct him because I'd rather be called a girl by someone with no ill intention than for them to feel a way and start playing in my food!
Now my coworker ordered the clam chowder and she enjoyed it. We both went with large 1 pound stone crab dinner (comes with cole slaw) and added the mixed veggies for $3 more. I'm not stone crab expert but id hate to see medium. Next time bring me the jumbo if this is large. Now the crabs were good but my plate didn't have much of anything on it worth $58 and you telling me that's the special price!
Anyway, I walked away after all was said and done $75 poorer and still hungry.Helpful 8Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 2Business owner information

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so happy that you came by to give us a try. I certainly understand what you are saying, but I do know that it was not said with any ill intention. If anything, he means it as a compliment but I do understand your point. We have all the stone crabs on display in the Market so you can see the sizing before you order. Regardless of the size, you still get a pound. We are sorry that you did not get enough to eat. Hopefully you will give us another chance. Stone crabs are definitely not the least expensive thing on our menu and we would be happy to help you find something of a better value . Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with this valuable feedback.

Look no further if you're looking for Stone Crabs. Oh my god. During the week they have an actual stone crab special dinner. We came for lunch since I wanted as many stone crabs as I could afford lol! We both got 2 lbs of large stone crab with hush puppies. It was so fresh and delicious!! We laughed about the bill, but screw it we don't live where we can get stone crab. I have no regrets! I would highly recommend and definitely would return.
There is a cute market and gift shop inside too. You can either get fresh seafood to go or eat there at the restaurant.
They have a nice outdoor seating area, which is what we opted for and it was lovely!Helpful 14Thanks 3Love this 13Oh no 0Business owner information

Amazing seafood in Palm Beach! So fresh. We loved the rock shrimp, stone crabs, pan fried yellow tail, and wahoo special. Caesar salad was amazing. All 10s! Can't wait to come back and try more.

I came here with my family for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Our waiter patiently answered all our questions about the menu and the different types of fish they serve. I ordered the steamed Ipswich clams and a house salad. The clams, served in a white wine broth with with melted butter on the side for dipping, were incredible. For specialty menu items (ex.: octopus, alligator, escargot), you need to call to give 24 hours notice.
There is also a marketplace with fresh fish available for purchase. We picked up some of the biggest scallops I have ever seen. At about $40/lb, they weren't cheap, but they were worth every penny. We had them for dinner later that day, and the quality was incredible.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal with us! And yes... we can make you a Market Plate with ANY of the specialty items we carry; since most of those items are frozen, we do need adequate time to thaw them. There is truly nothing like a fresh scallop that does not have chemical additives or preservative - they are amazing and we are pleased that you enjoyed them. We hope to see you again soon!

We came on a Thursday so we could take advantage of the stone crab craws special and listen to some steel drums music. I ordered cup of conch chowder and it was so good. Perfect amount of fish and had a little kick to it. I also ordered a great glass of chardonnay from France. My husband loved his stone crab claws and I really enjoyed my crab cakes. We both had cole slaw on the side and it was very good. Will definitely go back for the special. Also will return to buy fresh fish. The market is adorable and there's so many good items to buy.

Today as usual the food was great ..we ate pretty much the same items as shown before. Loved it, fries were so hot, fresh and crispy..diff item for us 1st time to go with fries. The hostess was a trip, bad trip, not welcoming or anything, actually quite rude. Our server was a diff one too , not stellar. She seemed more focused on her work items vs customer. Both seemed to be more bothered by us coming than the usual great service we've had every time previous. Hard cause the food was a 5*, the service including the hostess was maybe a 2* way below their usual. Place was clean and always cimfortable. We'll definitely eat here again, fresh yummy fish dishes, when we come down from Port St Lucie at least every month or so this is one of our usual stopes..along with Doris' Italian Market, Trader Joe's, Marshall's...to name a few of our other favorites!

Jun 15, 2023Previous reviewWent again today, it's a favorite place when we drive down to PGA for shopping from PSL. As usual hubby got the shrimp scampi. I tried the grouper piccata and was NOT disappointed. It was really good ! For sides I had the steamed veggies which was a beautiful combo of broccoli, sweet red pepper, zucchini, yellow squash and purple onions, they were steamed just right to a crisp/tender, went great w the lemon, caper, artichoke, mushroom picatta sauce. My other side selection was hush puppies, they're generally delicious..they were good but a bit greasy today. It's a comfortable and nice casual place. Morgan our server did a great job. The only thing I'd wish is that they would have a fish option that would be blackened, grilled type thing, it's a bit complicated the way they offer now. This would be a great option for those like me that don't need/want butter sauces. I'll be back tho, my husb loves the shrimp scampi which is the only thing he ever gets and I enjoy trying the different dishes offered.
Apr 11, 2023Previous reviewWent again, we make the trip from Port St Lucie. It was my husb b-day and he picked here to come. Another delicious meal. He had the shrimp scampi with shiitake mushrooms, he loved it plenty of garlic, but not too much. I had the large stone crabs. I started with a cup of conch chowder, yummm. So perfect. Susan was our server, she's pretty spectacular too! I like the casual nature of this nice restaurant. Thank u Coc & Capers.
Feb 14, 2023Previous reviewThis place is consistently yummy. The stone crabs are delicious, perfectly cracked and easy to enjoy! The hush puppies were delightful, crisp on the outside, clouds of deliciousness on the inside ..not greasy at all! The shrimp scampi was sooo good, my husb favorite and he gets this here every time! We missed Larry/server today, all was well tho!
Jun 28, 2022Previous reviewWe really like it here, every time we go my husb gets the shrimp garlic pasta, he luvs it!! I've had several different items and they've always been really good. This place is also a fish market ..always smells good in there, the market looks clean. Great place !!
Jun 22, 2022Previous reviewThis is a really good place, we enjoy it. My husb always gets the shrimp garlic pasta, he loves the garlic and the shrimp are really nice...fresh and perfectly cooked. I've had the hogfish. The snapper munier...all I've had has been fresh and tasty. We've had the nicest servers whether we sit inside or out. The fish market has lots of choices and beautiful seafood ...and some other stuff too!!
May 29, 2022Previous reviewIt was great. We shared peel and eat shrimp, so fresh, the spices were great, nice app for two. The cracked conch was crisp and mostly tender. Fries were nicely cooked even tho they're the bigger fries, and their cole slaw is a winner; crunchy and had a really good dressing. Always luv their ice tea, thank u for freshness! I believe Johanna was our server, she was awesome. My husband had the shrimp scampi, he gets every time and loves the garlic and shrimp.
