I now have a new favorite place to sit and find peace and it's in my very own backyard! YAY!
Joel (the owner of Closer to Nature) and his team did an AMAZING job on our waterfall. The craftsmanship is top-notch! The waterfall blends perfectly into the backdrop of trees that border our yard and is a wonderful water feature that will no doubt bring us years of tranquility.
As a bonus, I love the fact that it's a pondless fall, so no worries of a water hazard for our two toddlers. - Matthew F.Seattle, WA2457226/7/2019
We were very pleased with the workmanship of Joel and his team on our yard project. Â We needed the demolition of a large wooden shed in our yard, a new fence and pavers and had a specific vision in mind. Â The site had some challenges which Joel and team worked through as he brought our vision to life. Â Joel provided a detailed estimate after we first met with him. Â The final bill was a bit higher, but he had communicated this along the way as the work statement grew and we all wanted a quality job; the final bill was detailed and fair. Â This is a busy business and so it took a few months before the team got to our project, but we were happy that our patience paid off with a terrific result which seems like very good "value for money." Â We'll certainly consider Joel and his team for future projects!

Joel recently rebuilt a section of a dry stack stone wall that had become very deformed by tree roots and I couldn't be happier with the result. Â I was worried about whether the wall could be repaired at all but Joel is a very skilled and meticulous craftsman and the rebuilt section is absolutely gorgeous! Â Since my job was small, I had to wait a few months before he had time to work it into his schedule but he let me know about that in our initial conversation and as time got closer, he gave me an exact time and date. Â Communication was good--he was easy to contact via phone or email and he responded promptly to any questions I had. Â I would definitely work with him again.

We had a great experience working with Joel and his team. Â Great job with our backyard paver project. Â They did the job earlier than originally scheduled and completed it within budget and with a great outcome. Â We recommend them. Â
Our job took three days and involved pavers, leveling, a small retaining wall, hauling out a lot of old sod and bringing in new dirt, down a narrow path to the back of the house. - RaeAnne N.Honolulu, HI429/7/2015
Joel gives excellent advice and has great ideas on how to design a yard. Â He is fast, professional, and reasonably priced. Â The landscaping defiantly added value to my home. Â I highly recommend Closer to Nature to my friends and family.

We had Joel come out to give us a bid for seeding a very small lawn (approx 13'x 23'), including taking away some old dirt and bringing some good dirt in. Â He was a little off when we met him (we speculated that he might be stoned), but we didn't think much more of it. Â He sent us a bid for $1,345+ tax. Â Again, this was for removing minimal amount of dirt (no big rocks or anything), bringing in new dirt, seeding the lawn. Â No landscaping, maintenance, or anything. Â Even though it seemed high, on March 8 I emailed him saying we were ready to schedule. Â He responded, saying he'd get us on the schedule closer to the time. I emailed the next day and asked for a ballpark timeframe. Â We didn't hear back until three weeks later on March 30 at 5:30pm, when he emailed telling me he had an opening tomorrow, and then again at 8:50pm saying he was just planning on coming over the next day and doing the work. Â I emailed this:
"Hi Joel. When I didn't hear back from you after my last email we had someone else come out to give us a bid. Thanks anyways."
Here was his reply:
"Ok, thanks for wasting my time. Â Joel."
I'm grateful that he waited three weeks to respond to me or else we might have gone with him! Â We ended up going with a great company who charged us $880+taxes and they were professionals which, obviously, Joel was not.Business owner information

To correct your false statement, I emailed you back 3days later, not 3 weeks, after you asked for a timeframe, but it seemed since i didnt get back to you immediately you decided to go with someone else even though I had already had you on the schedule as discussed. So unfortunate for reputable small business to have such slandering comments made by unreasonable people, which in reality is obvious to other viewers on this site when they see 5star after 5star then a 1star, which is obviously the case of just running into inconsiderate people, just how it goes doing business with many clients. Â Is unfortunate you take the time to slander businesses for no reason at all, especially when no work was even done for you. Â Hope you refrain from your harsh criticism and slandering of future businesses over the most minor of things like you did to me. Â I would understand if the work was bad and handled unprofessionally, but in this case we didnt even get started with any work. Â Lastly its frustrating to not be able to remove false complaints that dont tell the truth of what actually happened. Â Thats all.

Joel Sisel is the owner of this landscape company and has been in business for less than a year. Â He has put in a beautiful stone sidewalk and path way for me as well as work on my yard and plant beds. Â I could not be more pleased. Â The work is top notch. Â I have received so many compliments from neighbors and people who have just walked by the house. Â Joel is meticulous in his work. Â His prices are more than fair and worth every penny. Â I would recommend his services in a heartbeat. Â If there was a 10-star rating, Joel would receive it.

Joel is the owner of this company and saved our home. Â He did a complete remodel of our front yard including: digging up the existing "grass" (more like mudfield), leveled the ground, installing turf, created two large rock flowerbeds in front of the house, a stone walkway, two large rock columns, and an aluminum gate and fence. Â Oh, and he also laid stone over our old concrete steps to match the walkway. Â The transformation was simply amazing. Â Our neighbors from across the street asked him if our house was on the HGTV show, Curb Appeal. Â Literally this happened. Â Joel's hard work truly saved our house. Â We had an ugly dilapidated wooden fence with a mudpit for a front yard and it now looks amazing. Â Joel takes the time and effort to do things right and his creativity is second to none. Â Before finding Joel we had a few estimates that were $12,000-$20,000. Â Joel charged us substantially less and even provided many things, include a beautiful coral maple tree, for free. Â I honestly think he should raise his prices for the service he does. Â Anyway, if you're looking for landscaping or rock work look no further. Â I cannot endorse him enough and can't wait for our next project.
