Wow, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I came here twice both times it took over 40 minutes to get our food. Service is great but the sloth cooks need to be let go.

Just waited 45 minutes for s table I was told would be ready in 30. I could accept this however, a party of six that arrived 20 minutes after me was drafted before me. I pointed this out and was promptly seated. Only to notice that 30% of the seats were available. What a waste of my time.

Came here for dinner last night after wine tasting to use our $25 birthday reward. The restaurant was dead. We found out that they will be closing this Wednesday, 5/23/18. I ordered the full rack of ribs and fries since they no longer offer the full menu. My husband had the porter house with beans and a baked potato. We also ordered onion rings as an appetizer.
The onion rings were delicious. When our main courses came out my ribs were luke warm. My husband didn't like his steak very much either. We ended up taking our food to go but it just wasn't good. Big waste of $$. I should've known better than to come here. Not sure if the quality was so bad because they have less than a week left of being open or maybe this is the reason they are closing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 17, 2017
On Sundays between 10am-2pm Claim Jumper's exclusive menu is all you can eat Brunch Buffet. We decided to check it out this last weekend. Overall, service was excellent, food was good, and the restaurant itself is very nice, and is especially good for big groups.
The cost is $19.99 and includes a vast variety of food and desserts to choose from. In addition to the usual breakfast items, there were pulled pork sliders, Mexican food, pizza, pasta, made to order omelets, and a carving station of roasted turkey and roast beef. Claim Jumper's very well known super salad and soup bar is included in the cost. Mimosas and bloody Mary's are an extra cost. The dessert table was simple and included sugar and white macadamia nut cookies, red velvet mini cakes, custards, jello and other mini sized sweets.
The room where we were seated is a big area that can be closed off. There is an overhead projector and a screen that can be pulled down. Good to note if looking for a place to hold a private event. This dining area looks out towards Rancho California Road with a nice view of the City's Duck Pond.
Our server was as sweet as could be. Her big, contagious smile and good nature was uplifting and made me feel cheerful too. I wish I could remember her name . . .Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Jan 15, 2017
I've been to this Claim Jumper a couple of times and all in all the food and service were both good no issues. Today we had family in and decided to do the all you can eat buffet. The buffet is from 10 - 2pm, we arrived about 10.15. We were seated quickly and got a nice booth with a view.
Our waitress, can't remember her name, greeted us and took our drink order. Then we went off to load our plates. There was plenty to choose from....there was an omelette bar, toasted turkey and roast beef carving station, pizza, eggs bennedict, enchiladas, pulled pork, fajitas, Salas bar, dessert bar and on and on....lol
Plenty of good food. Everybody over ate. The waitress came back to check on us several times, I like that.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 17Oh no 0 - 69153332996Feb 17, 2016
I'm giving Claim Jumper 3.5 stars because every time I come here I just have an alright experience. The food is pretty decent, the portions are great and the chocolate mother load cake is meant for two people.
When I come here I usually get the burger which I think is very tasty and pretty big. I love a good burger and they have that here at Claim Jumper. I don't come here that much but when I do I can't wait to have the chocolate cake.
Claim Jumper has been around for years and I will definitely come here when I'm in the mood for an amazing slice of chocolate cake or a good burger.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 2018
Claim Jumper has gone south. It's been on a negative trajectory for many years now. Used to come here when the kids were younger or when family came to town as this was a decent place to come. There was usually a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Not to mention, the servings were enough for two to share.
The last few times I have recently gone here I have left disappointed. On this occasion it took forever to get service. The gentleman who served us was nice, just not present. The meals came out at vastly different times and it appeared that my daughter's sandwich had moldy bread - appetite killer!
Ultimately, the manager came to our table and apologized. He said it wasn't mold but something that had splashed on the sandwich back in the kitchen...not sure, but it was too late at this point to turn things around. The manager did not charge us for her meal, which was nice. (She didn't eat much before discovering the problem.) They did ask to bring something out in its place, but since we had been there for a while at this point, we were just ready to go.
It's a shame things have slid so much here as it use to be something to look forward too.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 2018
I took my family to CJ for the first time, for my husband's birthday. We were so disappointed with the service, I was so upset. It all started off good, and then the drama began. We ordered two of the mule specials... One pineapple and one mango mule.
OMG it took literally 20 minutes to get the drinks, their slowness was due to them not having all the ingredients behind the bar, is what the waitress told us, my husband seen then bartender grab a pineapple from the salad bar... REALLY
Well that was the #1 problem, the bartender should have check their area to make sure they were stocked before the dinner service.
So finally when the drinks came out, the pineapple mule was gross!, it had way to much ginger beer in it. So my husband promptly returned it, and asked for a BlueMoon, so remember this, is a beer now, not a mixed drink.
By this time the restaurant is getting crowded, the waitress is MIA. Finally after about 15 minutes the beer came. So many employees walking around, not one person asked if everything was good or asked if we needed anything.
So now towards the end of the night, we're all taking to-go boxes, cuz we were over it. Took forever for us to get the boxes. So when the waitress came I'd ask her to have the drinks comp'ed, she said "oh we took off the pineapple mule", what BS that was...
So I didn't make a big fuse, because it was my husband's birthday- so we paid and left. NEVER EVER AGAIN!
Pro: The food came out in a timely manner
Con: I'd asked for my steak to be medium well, the steak came out way to red, so I sent it back to have it cooked a bit longer. The rest of the food was mediocre there was no wow factor to it.
The salad bar was sad looking and for them to charge $12.95 I do believe is ridiculous, should have been FREE.
I truly hate rating restaurants poorly but they need to really step up their game.
Recommendation: I don't recommend this place nor will I ever returnHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 14, 2015
This restaurant is located in a plaza where there is a black angus near by, but where I'm from, claim jumper isn't a common household name, so we decided to have lunch here.
Came with a group of 8 and waiting approx. 20 mins, which isn't too bad. When we sat down, Jill was our waitress. She was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the menu choices and specials.
We started with the appetizer sampler that consisted of spinach artichoke dip, southwest egg rolls, mozzarella sticks, and fried zucchini. I am an avid sampler guy, but quite frankly the only good thing about this sampler was the southwest egg rolls, and they only give you 2!
I ordered the ribeye, medium with mashed potatoes and clam chowder. The clam chowder was rich and thick, and full of its ingredients. The ribeye was cooked a little medium well, but still good. (I mean come on, it's a rib eye) the ribeye was also a little over seasoned because my pallet was overwhelmed w/ the pepper seasoning rather than the beef taste.
The best part of this experience was our server. If it wasn't for Jill, I would have rated this a 2 out of 5. Jill was very attentive and treated us as if we were the only people there. I'm sure if she can make us feel that way, she can do the same for other customers.
Do I believe this is the experience each and every time? Probably not, but I definitely expected more from this chain, considering they come from a restaurant family such as Bubba Gump Shrimp and the Rainforest Cafe.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 10, 2018
Great place!!! My first time here and it was great. I have been to other locations and by far this place was my favorite. I really like their appetizers. Spinach and artichoke dip is my favorite. The server recommended the Asian chicken salad, I think it was alright. I would give it 3/5. I also had the fish tacos and they were good. The manager was really helpful. Great service. Thank you.
