Okay, fav coffee shop in ATX. Super smooth and rich. A little of their simple housemade syrups goes a long way. Mid century modern interior and local art. Cute merch. Plenty of seating. Am a fan!

I sat at the bar this morning. It was really fun to sit in front of the baristas and see them in action when it got busy! I kind of got mesmerized watching them pull espresso shots.

It was pretty busy in here, but I was able to find seating alone. They also have a nice outdoor area if the weather is nice. Service was great, latte was delicious, avocado toast was bomb, I do wish it was a little bigger. Overall, great little spot!

Civil Goat is my little slice of caffeinated heaven in Austin! Their coffee roast is nothing short of magical, delivering a perfect cup every time. The syrups? Oh, they're like tiny bottles of liquid joy, transforming each sip is so so so delicious that it is unmatched in the city!

But it's not just the coffee that keeps me coming back. The food, sourced locally, is a delicious love letter to Austin's culinary scene. (P.S. get the rosemary bagels!!! I've never had a more delicious herby bagel) Every bite is a reminder of the hidden gems this city has to offer.

And let's talk about the baristas - they're the real MVPs! All are so cool & have good vibes. Honorable mention to Sam and Nico! Their warm smiles and genuine friendliness make every visit make me feel like a local. The atmosphere is a dream for productivity, too. Whether you're deep into a study session or tackling a mountain of work, Civil Goat's open concept coffee bar seating is a charming oasis of focus and creativity.

In short, Civil Goat is more than a coffee shop - it's an experience. A place where amazing coffee, delectable eats, and a welcoming atmosphere collide. It's my happy place, and I can't recommend it enough! "

Stopped in the meet a friend, and thought it was a nice spot. Was a bit packed without much seating, but the location was good and there was enough parking nearby. My chai latte with oat milk was solid, and the chia seed pudding was a nice little snack available for just $3. I could see myself using this place as a coffee meet up spot again in the future.

I tried Civil Goat for the first time today and will definitely be back.

      FOOD & COFFEE
I originally went because I saw they had toasts which feel more like 'real' food than most cafe offerings. I ended up getting an everything bagel however because the avocado toast had bacon on it and I'm a vegetarian. There were other vegetarian and vegan options (cinnamon toast) but most were on the sweet spectrum and I wanted to savory.

I wasn't expecting much from the bagel but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The cream cheese was a whipped one and I loved it. I just wanted more!

I also got a drip coffee that was superb. It was just damn good coffee. I hope to try their espresso and cold brew offerings in the future - if the coffee is any indication, I'm sure they'll be great.

      VIBE
I really enjoyed the vibe and decor inside Civil Goat. It had that calming effect that 'real' cafes have. I felt like I wanted to bring a good book (instead of my work laptop!) and just waste an afternoon away.

There are a few 'work-y' tables, a nice social area that had two small communal tables and a loungey area, but most seating was on stools at a bar facing Guadalupe. I was sitting at one of the stools and enjoyed myself but I was only there for about 30 minutes. I feel like it would be tough to do my aforementioned book lounging or even longer than 1hr. It would be tough to socialize with a friend with this set-up. I also could not see any plugs but wasn't looking to hard as I wasn't in need.

      SERVICE
I'm... confused... by the staff. No one was rude to me but no one was nice to me. It's hard to describe. I felt a little bit like I was being a bother but it's not like anyone was overtly rude. I may be reading too much into it but I interacted with three people and not one smiled... and I'm a very smiley person so it felt strange to smile at someone without them smiling back.

      PARKING
There's lots of space in the parking lot.

      PARENTS
I won't be brining my little one here anytime soon. It feels beautifully calm and I feel like a toddler would not fit well. It also has a set-up that would not accommodate any stroller bigger than an umbrella stroller. I'm sure it'd be fine to run in a grab a drink/pastry to go but I can't see myself sitting there with my kiddo.

      OVERALL
I will definitely go back to Civil Goat but not for a work sesh or with friends, definitely not with a kid. I'd go if I want some relaxing alone time with really good coffee.

The photo makes the bagel look over toasted but it didn't taste that way! It had a little crunch on the outside and soft on the inside.

I recently stumbled upon Civil Goat Coffee, and I must say, it's quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. Here's why:

      o. Great Parking and Plenty of Space:
The ample parking space is a godsend, especially in near the UT campus where parking can be a real headache. You won't have to circle around or park blocks away just to grab your favorite brew.

      o. Great Place for Work (Good Wifi), or Just to Chill:
Whether you're a remote worker in search of a quiet spot to get things done or someone who simply craves a cozy atmosphere to unwind, this café caters to both needs. The reliable WiFi ensures you can stay productive, and the ambiance invites you to relax and savor the moment. It's a win-win.

      o. Coffee on the More Expensive Side, But Flavorful:
Okay, let's talk about the coffee. While it's true that Civil Goat Coffee leans toward the more expensive side of the spectrum, it's worth every penny. The flavors are simply divine. The richness and depth of their brews are unmatched, making it a true haven for coffee aficionados. Besides, sometimes treating yourself to high-quality coffee is an experience in itself.

In summary, Civil Goat Coffee is a hidden gem with excellent parking, a fantastic work-friendly atmosphere, and a coffee selection that delivers both flavor and quality. It's a worthwhile indulgence for those who appreciate great coffee and a comfortable workspace.

I'll definitely be coming back for more. Cheers to Civil Goat Coffee!

Civil Goat is light and airy! A great place to meet up with 1 or 2 people cause there is lots of seating, but mostly side by side.

Very cool spot north of campus hosting tasty espresso, Sour Duck pastries, and larger bites in case studying or more official business makes you want to stay all day. Fresh, airy space with LOTS of light to dream big dreams, with a range of working spaces (barstools, tables with outlets, lounge area) and kindly accommodating staff to ease any pushy Cappy vibes.

Made me wait almost an hour (50 minutes) to get an açaí bowl lol. My friends came in about 5-10 minutes after I did and also ordered açaí bowls, and both got theirs 20 minutes before I did. We all asked the staff about my order several times, and they all told us "their kitchen was backed up". Normally, that's totally understandable, but none of the staff we told ever went to actually check on my specific order, they all just immediately gave us that blanket statement. Pretty sure they lost mine or forgot.
Also, the matcha and the açaí bowl were mid. Not worth waiting 50 minutes for sure.
