City Market

Like any other business, their staff sets this place apart. I imagine it's hard to remain so upbeat and positive sometimes working in this neighborhood, but they manage to! They're always so helpful.

I have found the most random items here, and it's great for a spur of the moment bottle of wine or quick lunch. Their hot deli is great, and they have a lot of options for various dietary restriction. They've even got a microwave so you can heat things up on the spot.

Prices are typically better elsewhere, but if you're here or in a pinch they probably have what you need from recipes to toiletries.

Long time local market that has a surprisingly large selection of quality grocery items and food ready to eat.

It's a goddamn convenience store. You buy, you go. Anyone with street sense would tell you if shady things are going down in, around or behind the counter, you have the legs (or wheels) to l e a v e the establishment. I've done so multiple times and I still come back because its a convenient store...with things I need last minute. Lol. It's not that serious.

Im trying to eat healthier but when I dont I come here. The greasy chicken and potato wedges HIT when I dont feel like ~bEiNg gOoD~ on nights I come home after a bad work day.

Pretty sure I got food poisoning from their chicken strips, though food poisoning is hard to pin point where it came from. Dude at the deli is usually pretty exasperated but I guess I get it, I work in the industry. Still, kind of abrasive. Prices for most things are high, except for deli items, which I no longer trust because I've had intense cramping, vomiting and diarrhea all day. Dunno what caused it exactly but city market chicken was the last thing I ate before I felt like hot garbage.

They are open until 2 ish and most of the employees are actually pretty nice. They have a good selection.

Locally famous for the "funny" signs they put outside on the sidewalk. Their most recent one depicts a crying immigrant child and is as infuriating as it is insensitive. Will hope other people of color take their business elsewhere.

Till they issue an apology and attend some anti bias training don't shop here.

There's lots of other options.

Making fun of human rights abuses isn't ok

At 10:53 am March 23rd 2019 I was overcharged for goods.

The lady by the counter was pissed off about something and I just walked in to buy a soda.

she was upset and and rude and I know she overcharged me but didn't  want to say anything because she was already pissed off and treating me like crap. I will never go there again.She treated me like I was some crack head and never done drugs in my life. I am a 9/11 vet and served my country and was treated like a piece of crap.

I been going to city market for years and this is the first time I felt unwanted.

The person in front of me in line she cussed out and treated him like a dirtbag.

I never had this experience at city market before this lady.

Until they apologize for this and take accountability for the casual racism and irresponsibility of this; they will have one star. Deleting your Facebook page is not the solution; it makes it worse.

I love city market! The staff is excellent and they are well stocked of everything you could imagine!

The sandwich my partner bought me for dinner from City Market today legit has 2 deli slices of turkey on a large roll. The normal sandwich dude wasn't there, so hopefully this isn't how things are going. There are more onions than turkey on here.
