City Grille

A bar atmosphere with steakhouse-style food. Outdoor seating and safety measures in place. As of the end of June 2021, staff wears masks.

Loud music--mostly from the 1990s the night we were there--makes for difficult conversation on the patio. A lot of smoke. People playing cornhole. A nice party atmosphere, but the food isn't really the focus.

The best thing at our table was the fried zucchini sticks served with ranch. The prime rib came swimming on its plate, but it was cooked to specifications. Reuben sandwich was standard, and side substitution of slaw for fries was included. Veggie nachos were also average. Nothing really stood out, and plating and presentation were not emphasized at all.

Food is satisfactory, and staff is friendly and helpful, but there is no effort in presentation. Water was kept filled. One of our party's order was incomplete, but the check was revised without a problem. The bill was split easily when requested.

This is more bar than restaurant. If you are looking for burgers or a slab of meat to go with your beer and a relaxed, loud atmosphere (and you don't mind smoke), this might be just what you're looking for.

Since moving to Maryland (yes, I know this restaurant is not in Maryland it is in Virginia!)we've become addicted to crab dip. The cheese mix of cream cheese, crab meat, and Old Bay is well addicting.

1. City Grill rocked their crab dip. it was simply amazing! Plus, the bread included was awesome (yes, I ate bread, no I should not have eaten bread).
2. The food was perfect!!!

My foodie bestie got a chicken salad. It was served on a flowered tomato. The only complaint was the tomato was not horribly ripe. The chicken salad and grapes were pronounced yum!

I got the steak and cheese wrap (cutting down a bit on the earlier bread!) and it was amazing. The fries had that wonderful crisp and still soft in the center quality.

We will wander back to the City Grill. its a haul from Maryland, but it was well worth the stop!!!!!!

Their food is really great and amazing! Eat there now!!! Get their cheese fries because they are great but if you heat them up for leftovers, get ranch to go and heat them up a lot preferably in the oven for maximum taste. City grill has great people working there and they treat you just like family because they get you great food, apologize for giving you food late even if it's just one minute late, and don't nag you to buy more things on the menu, but slightly urge you to. They understand that great food is all we want and they strive to reach that goal. If you are near this area and are looking for a great place to eat and take a break from life, head on down to City Grille and indulge in the amazing
taste of amazing food. If I was ever there again, I know I would. PS Their mozzarella sticks are the best and you cannot go there without getting them.

The food here was good, had the prime rib and it was delicious. The restaurant could use an update to the decor and it smelled funny inside. Overall it was a classic pub type food place at affordable prices.

What a fun dive bar we stumbled upon! The wings are so yummy and a must have if you go (extra well done for that crunch) and my husband loved his prime rib! We will be back again.

Hidden gem located in Manassas! Food and Service was excellent. Will definitely come back.

I love the City Grill! I called to make a reservation for 10 and I was told they do not take reservations. I was very disappointed. We chose another place that would take a reservation because we are going out with my elderly mother and didn't want to have to wait too long for a table. Oh well!
I wish we were going there tonight.

So I have been coming here for a couple of years and always took care of the wait staff. Tonight I went there for my usual, wings and gin and tonic. The bartender later in the evening said the following: "why do you always look so mad, you constantly have a resting bitch face." I was too stunned to say anything and regretfully still tipped him.

I have always treated everyone with respect and took care of them with respect. I will not go in there again.

Got the Spicy JJack burger. It was absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly medium, was juicy and well topped. Served with steak fries. I would put this burger in my personal top 2! Everything at City Grill is made in house including the bun. Perfecto!!

Wonderful dining experience! The OLD FASHION with Makers Mark is perfect! Jared is an excellent bar tender! We ordered the chicken quesadilla and fried zucchini sticks which were great!
