I came to Cider Hill on a nice fall weekend with high expectations. I was very saddened that it did not live up to my expectations. I think they could do some fairly minor things in order to make their area much better.
First, I think they need additional parking. As currently stands, there is very minimal parking.
Second, they need to expand their store area. Currently, the line for donuts, cider, and other treats can easily get very long so adding additional space in order to make these sales would vastly improve customer satisfaction.
Third, the apples were not very numerous. I'm not sure if it was a bad year for growing but when we were brought out to the fields to pick our own apples, we were saddened that there were only a few apples that were adequate size and not rotted.
Lastly, the staff did not know the product they were serving. We were adding to our bag from the pre-picked apple pile and asked the staff what kind of apples they were and they were unaware.
Cider Hill does have so much potential. They have a lot of stuff in place to make for a fun Fall family experience but could use some small advancements in order to make the experience better.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 26, 2022
We had a great time at Cider Hill! They have a beautiful orchard with a huge variety of apples - available bagged and ready to go home, or U-Pick. We chose to pick our own, and despite being a little later in the season, we were still able to fill up our bag with a little searching. We also enjoyed the free hay ride, and the apple cider donuts at the concession stand. They have quite a few delicious sounding treats on the menu I'm going to have to come back and try.
Definitely a must-do fall activity for the whole family!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 3, 2022
This orchard is such a great place to bring the family or a group of friends. Pick up your bag or bushell, ride the free tractor waggon, taste an apple along the way and fill up your arms with as many fresh apples as you can hold!
The slider slush and cider donuts were worth the wait. Fresh and flavorful! Plenty of parking.
The memories and photos are worth every penny! One of our favorite fall activities!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 28, 2021
Our first time at Cider Hill Family Orchard. We went last Saturday around 10:30am. Upon entering, be careful of the steep hill down. There's only one way to your right all the way around making a full circle. It's not as safe driving in and out, because the drive way is so narrow. It was so packed! I suggest parking on the grass at the end of the full circle for easy in and out. There is a small paved parking lot which is hard to get in and out of towards the middle near the main area.
We walked towards the main area. It's a bit of a walk, so wear comfortable shoes/sandals. Bring a wagon to haul your stuff in. Bring a little blanket to sit near the few ponds that they have. There's a big house to your left. There's a free train ride for the kids near here. There's an area to buy your cider donuts, apple cider, fresh kettle popcorn, etc. Walk past that to the middle is where you'll find a sweet employee who will give you the run down of things and another store to purchase merchandise. She told us about the prices, where things were located, and also because of low staffing the hay ride wasn't available as of right now, etc. On the left is a little swing set for the kids and the BBQ area.
There was a line for all areas of purchase. If you buy pumpkins, you bring the pumpkins for them to weigh it first which is located near the train. They give you a print out then you have to go pay at the other areas. They have many apple trees that you can pick to your heart's desire! It's a pretty big area, so be ready to walk. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours. We even tried their bbq and it was actually pretty delicious! Prices were pretty decent and they give you a good amount of food.
Since there was such a long line for everything, what we did was grab and pay for the empty bags first. A kid's bag is about $5.50, regular bag $12, big bag $22. Then when we ordered our food, we just paid for the bags right then and there. Get a receipt for proof of payment. After we were done eating, we went on our merry way to pick some apples. When we were done picking our apples with our already paid bags, we didn't have to haul it back to the main area and wait in the long line to pay.
All in all, we had a fun time here with the family! The kids really enjoyed the apple picking and the free train ride.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 18, 2020
It's Autumn folks, so the only reasonable thing to do is put on all the flannel you own and head over to an apple orchard. Cider Hill was BEAUTIFUL! In the era of Covid, they initiated a reservation system where you pick a time slot for when you would like to visit the orchard, which I really appreciated!
They have a lot of apple tree groves to choose from. The weekend I went they had golden delicious and Jonathan reds, which were both great for baking. The apples were a bit on the small size, but the weather wasn't the best this summer.
Aside from the apple orchard, there is a huge lawn area with a big shed and picnic benches to sit and eat the delicious treats from the shop area (including apple cider donuts: YUM).
The store was out of a lot of items when I went, but the store clerk said they restock every few days (really wanted to take home some cider). Overall, really cute orchard and great outing for a fun day trip!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Quali J.Hollywood, FL010Oct 21, 2021
I took my daughter on a Wednesday because her dad was off work, too. The hours posted said they were open but the quietness and no workers in sight said differently.
I was hoping to at least get a pumpkin and maybe a donut.
I'd seen a family in the distance walking around and one kid that was working. When I asked the kid if anything was going to be opened this day, he said no, but you can walk around if you'd like.
What a mess!

Stopped by in September for some fall-tivities, and Cider Hill did not disappoint. With lots of options for this in the local area, I'd recommend Cider Hill because of the fun historic house on the property, and the cute shop they have in the barn or shed out back. Because of current events, we had to make a reservation online to go over the weekend, which was enforced by an attendant at the gate. Parking was pretty easy, and the place was quite crowded, but there was lots of room to spread about and roam. All the employees were helpful in directing traffic and orienting you to the farm. As for apples, they had many varieties. You pay by the bag, so the goal is to fill it up, which definitely incentivizes picking hah. There was cider and donuts for sale - the donuts were quite good, some of the best we've had. Great outing with friends, family or for a fun fall date.

Wanted to check this venue out for my wedding next year and just had this sneaking suspicion about them.. I called and asked if they would host a same sex wedding. The person on the phone couldn't give me an answer so I emailed them. If you don't discriminate why not just leave it at that? Why did you feel the need to explain your beliefs? I wasn't asking about that. Like, you're Christian, good for you...Seems like you're trying to turn me away. Hmmm, NEXT.

Today was my first time here. My boyfriend surprised me with this visit but it was a perfect morning to try something new. Couldn't have been happier with our experience. Felt assured as we approached the gate and a large sign explaining their COVID-19 precautions with all the staff wearing masks and distancing--many of the patrons were taking care too. Staff were welcoming and informative. One woman even explained how different kinds of apples work in different kind of recipes. After picking our peck, the handle broke on our bag but the staff was quick to come over with a new bag and ask if we needed anything. We ended our visit with a delicious half dozen of apple cider donuts and a little walk around the pond. I'll be back very soon, looking forward to the pumpkin patch opening up!

Amazing, 20 minute drive outside the city to find this picture perfect farm. Duck ponds, trails through the apple orchard, covered picnic area, BBQ offered for lunch, barn filled with craft vendors, train & hay ride (more like a tractor ride), Apple cider & slushies, donuts, kettle corn and it looks like their gonna have a working vineyard soon too. Hope this means wine will follow soon!
Most of the food was exactly what you hope for at a farm festival, the BBQ while good it would also be amazing to see some smoked or grilled chicken as an option but that's just a personal preference. They did have chicken tenders with really good fries, and a brisket sandwich along with "brick" fries. HUGE portion of seasoned fresh (potatos peeled and curled to order) curly fries. Side of coleslaw. I personally went for the Apple cider slushies, donuts, and kettle corn
Barn (think rustic event space) was filled with about 12-15 vendors selling candles, jewelry, clothes, food, among other unique items.
It had rained for several days before so fields were a bit muddy which also doubled as parking, but doable. Weather was perfect and absolutely coming back for Apple season.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
