Chubby Burgers Chicken & Pizza

I've ordered delivery from this restaurant twice in the past couple of months. The burgers are pretty good. Nothing fancy, but tasty and the delivery is pretty fast. The fries & onion rings are just okay. They've arrived somewhat cold & soggy. The chicken Caesar salad was decent. I've never been inside the establishment so I can't speak to the ambiance of the place. Overall nothing special, but hits the spot when you want a burger that's better quality than McDonald's.

I used to order fried chicken routinely from Chubby (like, once a month or more) but the food quality has become inconsistent and the customer service has become nonexistent. You can never be sure whether the chicken you get is going to be fresh and taste decent or whether it will arrive overcooked, greasy, etc. Lately I've been ordering, saying to myself "find another chicken place," and then getting enough of a craving that I decide to give them another shot. Then it arrives, it's fine, and we go through the cycle of good-mediocre-bad again.

I could deal with taking my chances on the chicken because it's usually "good enough" for the very reasonable price, but my last order, a couple weeks ago, has made me cross them off my list for good. I ordered through Slice (which I have now discovered is, yes, very good to the restaurant owners, but not good at all to the customers, but that's a whole 'nother story)--the order was missing the three Diet Cokes I ordered. It also had French fries (2.99) rather than the potato wedges (5.99) I ordered. I noticed this all within five minutes of the delivery guy leaving and immediately got on the phone. No one answered. It rang, it rang, it rang. No one answered. I tried again an hour later, no one answered. Meanwhile, I tried to get Slice to solve the problem and they told me they couldn't until...someone answered. I eventually had to go to bed, so I decided to try again, both directly and with Slice, the next day. Still, no one picked up the phone for me or for Slice. And again a day later. Then I gave up, presumably just as they expected me to.

All told, when you added up tax and the (prepaid) tip, I was overcharged 11 bucks and change for this mistake (and, again, the chicken was mediocre). It's a hell of a system where you can cheat a customer and avoid having to do anything about it by simply not picking up a phone, but here we are. Not gonna happen again.

My fiancé was hungry yesterday and had a hankering for pizza so he (kinda) surprised me and ordered a regular cheese pizza pie with sweet Italian sausage as a topping.

Delivery took a bit longer than expected but I also get that a pie takes some time to make and I would rather wait a bit for a fresh pie than a quick 5-10 minute delivery time for an old pie with congealed cheese that was clearly hanging out under a heat lamp. The pie that arrived was definitely fresh.

The sausage topping was pretty good, a little bland but that's nothing some cheese, tomato sauce and bread crust can't help! Oh wait, there was barely any tomato sauce to be found?! That's usually one of the pleasures of consuming pizza! The cheese Chubby's uses is VERY good quality though, none of that $1 slice subpar cheese here - kudos to them for that, but the sauce part needs to be amped up for maximum satisfaction.

Would I order from here again? Sure. Would I call this the best delivery pizza in Astoria? Not even close, but it's certainly not the worst and will get the job done.

Chicken nuggets were wayyy too dry. Looks very unappetizing. Never ordering anything here again. Bad quality. Tossed out the nuggets straight away!

Placed an order over an hour ago via Seamless that never arrived. Called the phone number to check the order status and it is going straight to a message that the voicemail is not set up.

Never again.

I thought the philly cheesesteak was really good, surprisingly good. I'd definitely reorder it.

I took a chance and ordered from this innocuous looking place off of my seamless app, fully expecting to be disappointed, but they had the random mix of things that I was craving: turkey burger, 6 piece nuggets, and a slice of pizza. They were all amazing - even the pizza!
I gave it another go last night and ordered: another slice, 6 piece hot wings, and a lamb gyro and again, they definitely delivered (uh, not just literally, but figuratively). They're fast and cheap, just like my mom. And also like my mom, I would highly recommend that you give them a go!

This place has everything that anyone would ever want. They have chicken, pizza, salads, desserts, seafood, and even something for you kids. This place has a huge selection of sides for you to choose from. Overall, this place is exquisite and I would recommend it to everyone.

Actually, literally, ruined my entire night. Didn't get the delivery at all, nothing whatsoever. Called them and they said nothing they can do, my money and time is wasted. Girlfriend and I waiting for hours, and at almost midnight she had no choice but go out and get food. Sounds like 1st world problems but there are things in play like mobility issues/dietary issues etc. that make delivery better for us. The food is good, but several times in the past they have sent actual, literal moldy or rotten side dishes. Would still order because the chicken really is great, that is how good it is. Still ordered even though there's a chance we get rotten vegetables or incorrect sides or something. But now this is the last straw, with so many things going wrong with these guys I guess I have no choice but stop ordering.

Ordered delivery through seamless and it took forever (I wasn't upset about it taking so long, it was heavily snowing but a phone call would have been nice since the estimated time was 25-45 minutes and I didn't get my order for 1 hour and 45 minutes) surprisingly the food was hot and the delivery man was beyond apologetic. He was very polite and friendly and explained that things were hectic. The food was pretty substantial. I had the chicken over rice platter and the white sauce that is served with it is delicious. I also ordered some corn on the cob and a slice of pizza for my toddler which she devoured. We also had an order of chicken fingers and cheese fries- the cheese fries had this buttery artery clogging cheese sauce (which is what we all love isn't it? LOL) it has a strong buttery flavor to it. I'm all for a super unhealthy cheese fry, but these weren't my favorite. The chicken fingers were crunchy. I would order from here again, hopefully the delivery time will be accurate.
